Abstract
The dynamic behavior of supramolecular organic frameworks (SOFs) based on the rigid tetra-4-(4-pyridyl)phenylmethane (TPPM) organic tecton has been elucidated through 3D electron diffraction, X-ray powder diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis. The SOF undergoes a reversible single-crystal-to-single-crystal transformation when exposed to vapours of selected organic solvents, moving from a closed structure with isolated small voids to an expanded structure with solvated channels along the b axis. The observed selectivity is dictated by the fitting of the guest in the expanded SOF, following the degree of packing coefficient. The effect of solvent uptake on TPPM solid-state fluorescence was investigated, evidencing a significant variation in the emission profile only in the presence of chloroform.

Abstract
We created dual interactive sites in a porous coordination network using a CuI cluster and a rotation-restricted ligand, tetra(3-pyridyl)phenylmethane (3-TPPM). The dual interactive sites of iodide and Cu ions can adsorb I2 via four-step processes including two chemisorption processes. Initially, one I2 molecule was physisorbed in a pore and successively chemisorbed on iodide sites of the pore surface, and then the next I2 molecule was physisorbed and chemisorbed on Cu ions to form a cross-linked network. We revealed the four-step I2 diffusion process by single-crystal X-ray structure determination and spectroscopic kinetic analysis.

Abstract
We prepared coordination networks that show relatively strong emission with through-space charge-transfer (TSCT) transitions. Thermolysis of a kinetically assembled network with Cu2Br2 dimer connectors, which was assembled from a CuBr cluster and the Td ligand 4-4-tetrapyridyltetraphenylmethane (4-TPPM), generated a highly luminescent network composed of Cu+ connectors and 4-TPPM linkers with CuBr2- guests. We clarified that the electronic transitions in this network include TSCT in addition to the typical metal-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) observed in conventional Cu complexes.

Abstract
Despite their apparent similarity, framework materials based on tetraphenylmethane and tetraphenylsilane building blocks often have quite different structures and topologies. Herein, we describe a new silicon tetraamidinium compound and use it to prepare crystalline hydrogen bonded frameworks with carboxylate anions in water. The silicon-containing frameworks are compared with those prepared from the analogous carbon tetraamidinium: when biphenyldicarboxylate or tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)methane anions were used similar channel-containing networks are observed for both the silicon and carbon tetraamidinium. When terephthalate or bicarbonate anions were used, different products form. Insights into possible reasons for the different products are provided by a survey of the Cambridge Structural Database and quantum chemical calculations, both of which indicate that, contrary to expectations, tetraphenylsilane derivatives have less geometrical flexibility than tetraphenylmethane derivatives, that is, they are less able to distort away from ideal tetrahedral bond angles.

Abstract
In this work, we report the formation of superstructures assembled from organic tubular crystals mediated by metal-coordination chemistry. This template-free process involves the crystallization of molecules into crystals having a rectangular and uniform morphology, which then go on to fuse together into multibranched superstructures. The initially hollow and organic crystals are obtained under solvothermal conditions in the presence of a copper salt, whereas the superstructures are subsequently formed by aging the reaction mixture at room temperature. The mild thermodynamic conditions and the favorable kinetics of this unique self-assembly process allowed us to ex-situ monitor the superstructure formation by electron microscopy, highlighting a pivotal and unusual role for copper ions in their formation and stabilization.

Abstract
Recently, porous framework materials with various network-type structures have been constructed via several different approaches, such as coordination interactions, reversible covalent bonds, and non-covalent interactions. Here, we have combined the concepts of supramolecular coordination complex (SCC) and metal-organic framework to offer a new strategy to construct a diamondoid supramolecular coordination framework (SCF) from an adamantanoid supramolecular coordination cage as the tetrahedral node and a difunctional Pt(II) ligand as the linear linker via stepwise orientation-induced supramolecular coordination. The adamantanoid supramolecular coordination cage has four uncoordinated pyridyl groups, which serve as the four vertexes of the tetrahedral geometry in the diamondoid framework. As a result, this diamondoid SCF exhibits an adamantanoid-to-adamantanoid substructure with two sets of pores, including the interior cavity of the adamantanoid cage and the extended adamantanoid space between the individual cages in the framework. In addition, the shape-controllable and highly ordered self-assembly of nanometer-sized diamondoid SCF is observed as micrometer-sized regular octahedrons by evaporation under heating in DMSO. This study demonstrates the potential application of supramolecular coordination complexes in the precise construction of highly regulated porous framework materials.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with constricted pores can increase the adsorbate density of gas and facilitate effective CO2 separation from flue gas or natural gas due to their enhanced overlapping of potential fields of the pores. Herein, an MOF with constricted pores, which was formed by narrow channels and blocks of functional groups, was fabricated from the assembly of a methyl-functionalized ligand and Zn(II) centers (termed NPC-7-Zn). Structural analysis of the as-synthesized NPC-7-Zn reveals a series of zigzag pores with pore diameters of ∼0.7 nm, which could be favorable for CO2 traps. For reinforcing the framework stability, a solvothermal metal metathesis on the pristine MOF NPC-7-Zn was performed, and a new Cu(II) MOF (termed NPC-7-Cu) with an identical framework was produced. The influence of the reaction temperatures on the metal metathesis process was investigated. The results show that the constricted pores in NPC-7-Zn can induce kinetic issues that largely slow the metal metathesis process at room temperature. However, this kinetic issue can be solved by applying higher reaction temperatures. The modified MOF NPC-7-Cu exhibits significant improvements in framework stability and thus leads to a permanent porosity for this framework. The constricted pore structure enables enhanced potential fields for these pores, rendering this MOF with high adsorbate densities for CO2 and high adsorption selectivity for a CO2/N2 gas mixture. The adsorption kinetic studies reveal that CH4 has a faster diffusion rate constant than CO2, showing a surface diffusion controlled mechanism for CO2 and CH4 adsorption.

Abstract
Controlling particle-particle interactions is a major challenge in achieving the programmable assembly of nanoparticles, which shows great potential for device fabrication and detection systems. We present here a simple chemical method that allows the formation of Pd nanoparticle assemblies using a tetrakis(terpyridine) linker with a rigid tetrahedral core.
