Abstract
This Letter outlines palladium-catalyzed regioselective (Markovnikov's) addition of aryl boronic acids to propargyl 1,3-dicarbonyl alkyne to accomplish olefinic/diene 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds without the need for water workup. This methodology showcases remarkable performance with wide-ranging substrate diversity, achieving high yields while employing merely 3 mol % [Pd] alongside a mild KOAc base. Moreover, the utility of dicarbonyl olefins is exemplified through their application in intramolecular cyclization and debenzoylation reactions to access valuable trisubstituted pyran building blocks and (E)-4-methylene-1,6-diphenylhex-5-en-1-one synthesis.

Abstract
AbstractIn this study, 5-substituted and 5,6-disubstituted [4]acenes were synthesized by the double cationic cyclization of fluoroalkenes. (a) After being treated with Me2AlCl (1.2 equiv), 2-trifluoromethyl-1-alkenes bearing two aryl groups underwent domino Friedel–Crafts-type cyclization (two-ring construction) followed by dehydrogenation to generate 5-fluorinated [4]acenes. The same (trifluoromethyl)alkenes were treated with both Me2AlCl (1.2 equiv) and Me3Al (1.0 equiv), resulting in selective one-ring construction and the creation of bicyclic 1,1-difluoro-1-alkenes. (b) When treated with triflic acid, the bicyclic difluoroalkenes underwent regioselective protonation to generate CF2 cations; Friedel–Crafts-type cyclization of these cations provided tetracyclic ketones. The obtained ketones act as an appropriate platform for the introduction of substituents at the 5-position of [4]acenes. (c) When treated with DDQ/H+, the bicyclic difluoroalkenes underwent oxidative generation of allylic CF2 cations; Friedel–Crafts-type cyclization of these cations produced tetracyclic enones. The enones were subjected to double addition of carbanions to facilitate the introduction of two substituents at the 5- and 6-positions of dihydro[4]acenes.

Abstract
A novel methodology for stereoselective synthesis of benzo[b]indolo[3,2,1-de]acridines through the tandem reaction of propargylic compounds with organoboron is described, and only one diastereoisomer was obtained. The sequential procedure was triggered by Pd(0)-catalyzed allenylation of propargyl carbonate. Then, Diels-Alder cyclization and hydrogen migration processes proceeded successively to furnish the polycyclic target molecules. Control reactions suggested the base (Cs2CO3) was indispensable for the hydrogen migration.

Abstract
A new and straightforward method for the synthesis of 5-bromotetracenes through PBr3-mediated cyclization of 1,7-diyn-3,6-bis(propargyl carbonate)s has been developed. This method offers several advantages such as easily accessible starting materials, high efficiency, and wide functional group compatibility. In addition, chloro- and iodo-substituted tetracenes were also synthesized using appropriate halogenating reagents. The utility of the 5-bromotetracene products has been illustrated by their efficient transformations through various palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions.

Abstract
1,4-Diols resulting from the double addition of ArCCLi (Ar = Ph, substituted phenyl, 2-thienyl) to ortho-C6H4(CHO)2 undergo cascades to tetracenes on simple admixture of LiHDMS, CS2 and MeI. Acene formation proceeds by [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement of xanthate anions followed by 6π electrocyclisations. The reactions are terminated by E2 or anionic Chugaev-type eliminations. Structural packing motifs and electronic properties are reported for the tetracenes.
