Abstract
In this study, the MIL-101(Cr) metal–organic framework was functionalized with a Dowson-type polyoxometalate (P2W18O626−; POM) and magnetic spinel cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4; CFO) through a hydrothermal route and was characterized by means of FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM, EDX, BET, and VSM measurements. All analyses confirmed the successful encapsulation of POM (∼32.2 wt%) into the magnetic MIL-101(Cr) framework. Compared to the pristine MIL-101(Cr) MOF, the as-prepared magnetic ternary nanocomposite (abbreviated as POM/CFO/MIL-101(Cr)) demonstrated a notable decrease in both the surface area and pore volume because of the incorporation of CoFe2O4 nanoparticles and huge P2W18O626− polyanions into the cages of the MIL-101(Cr) framework. The POM/CFO/MIL-101(Cr) was then applied as a magnetically separable adsorbent for the rapid elimination of rhodamine B (RhB), methyl orange (MO), and methylene blue (MB) dye pollutants from aqueous solutions. For achieving the optimized conditions, the effects of initial pH, initial dye concentration, temperature, salt effect, and adsorbent dose on MB and RhB elimination were investigated. The dye adsorption isotherms followed the Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The POM/CFO/MIL-101(Cr) composite material not only exhibited a fast adsorption rate towards dye molecules, but also demonstrated the selective adsorption of the cationic dyes in wastewater. The recycling experiments also demonstrated that the POM/CFO/MIL-101(Cr) adsorbent was highly stable and could be quickly recovered under a magnetic field without any alteration in the structure. The high adsorption capacity, simple fabrication method, rapid separation by a magnet and supreme reusability of the POM/CFO/MIL-101(Cr) nanocomposite make it an attractive adsorbent for the elimination of cationic dyes from wastewater. The magnetic CoFe2O4/MIL-101 (Cr) metal–organic framework nanocomposite containing P2W18O626− polyoxometalate was fabricated and applied as an ultrafast adsorbent to remove organic dyes from water.![]()

Abstract
Deliberately controlling organic ligand transformation in situ has remained a challenge for the construction of polyoxometalate (POM)-based inorganic-organic hybrids. In this work, four POM-based hybrids assembled from an in situ bifurcating organic ligand-[Cu2(DIBA)4](H3PMo12O40)·6H2O (1), [Cu2(DIBA)4](H4SiW12O40)·6H2O (2), [Ag(HDIBA)2](H2PMo12O40)·2H2O (3), [Ag3(HDIBA)2(H2O)][(P2W18O62)1/2]·4H2O (4) (DIBAH = 3,5-di(1H-imidazol-1-yl) benzoic acid)-have been designed and obtained under hydrothermal conditions. Compounds 1 and 2 are isostructural, displaying a three-dimensional (3D) 2-fold interpenetrating framework with two types of channels, and the bigger channels are occupied by Keggin polyoxoanions and crystallization water molecules, but only crystallization water molecules in the smaller ones. Compound 3 displays a 3D supramolecular structure constructed from {Ag(HDIBA)2} segments and PMo12O40(3-) polyoxoanions through hydrogen bonding interactions. Compound 4 shows a 3D 2-fold interpenetrating framework based on (3, 3, 4)-connected network, which is constructed from {Ag3(HDIBA)2}n chains and P2W18O62(6-) polyoxoanions as linkers. The DIBAH ligand was generated in situ from 3,5-di(1H-imidazol-1-yl)benzonitrile by deliberate design, which illustrates that the strategy to construct novel POM-based hybrids by controlling ligand transformation in situ is rational and feasible. In addition, the effects of the central metal and POMs on the structures of the target compounds were discussed. Finally, the electrochemical and photocatalytic properties of compounds 1-4 have been investigated in this paper.

Abstract
Two new metal-organic compounds {[Cu3(μ3-4-ptz)4(μ2-N3)2(DMF)2](DMF)2}n (1) and {[Cu(4-ptz)2(H2O)2]}n (2) {4-ptz = 5-(4-pyridyl)tetrazolate} with 3D and 2D coordination networks, respectively, have been synthesized while studying the effect of reaction conditions on the coordination modes of 4-pytz by employing the [2 + 3] cycloaddition as a tool for generating in situ the 5-substituted tetrazole ligands from 4-pyridinecarbonitrile and NaN3 in the presence of a copper(ii) salt. The obtained compounds have been structurally characterized and the topological analysis of 1 discloses a topologically unique trinodal 3,5,6-connected 3D network which, upon further simplification, results in a uninodal 8-connected underlying net with the bcu (body centred cubic) topology driven by the [Cu3(μ2-N3)2] cluster nodes and μ3-4-ptz linkers. In contrast, the 2D metal-organic network in 2 has been classified as a uninodal 4-connected underlying net with the sql [Shubnikov tetragonal plane net] topology assembled from the Cu nodes and μ2-4-ptz linkers. The catalytic investigations disclosed that 1 and 2 act as active catalyst precursors towards the microwave-assisted homogeneous oxidation of secondary alcohols (1-phenylethanol, cyclohexanol, 2-hexanol, 3-hexanol, 2-octanol and 3-octanol) with tert-butylhydroperoxide, leading to the yields of the corresponding ketones up to 86% (TOF = 430 h(-1)) and 58% (TOF = 290 h(-1)) in the oxidation of 1-phenylethanol and cyclohexanol, respectively, after 1 h under low power (10 W) microwave irradiation, and in the absence of any added solvent or additive.
