Abstract
The synthesis, characterization, crystal structure and detailed magnetic properties of a pyrazine (pyz) and azido (N3) bridged cobalt(II) compound of formula [Co(N3)2(pyz)] (1) are reported. Compound 1 shows a layered structure formed by Co(II) chains with double μ-N3(κN1,N1) bridges that are further connected by μ-(pyrazine-κN1,N4) bridges. The layers present weak van der Waals interactions between azido terminal groups. The magnetic properties show the presence of a metamagnetic behaviour in 1 with two critical fields of 200 and 400 mT at low temperatures. AC magnetic measurements show the presence of a long-range 2D ferromagnetic order at Tc ≈ 8.0-7.0 K for dc fields above 200 mT and a long-range 3D ferromagnetic order at Tc ≈ 4.5 K for dc fields above 400 mT.

Coexistence of Spin Canting and Metamagnetism in a One-Dimensional Mn(II) Compound Bridged by Alternating Double End-to-End and Double End-On Azido Ligands and the Analog Co(II) Compound. Abstract
Two new compounds of general formula [M(N3)2(dmbpy)] in which dmbpy = 5,5′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine, and M = Mn(II) or Co(II), have been solvothermally synthesized and characterized structurally and magnetically. The structures consist of zig-zag polymeric chains with alternating bis-µ(azide-N1)2M and bis-µ(azide-N1,N3)2M units in which the cis-octahedrally based coordination geometry is completed by the N,N’-chelating ligand dmbpy. The molecular structures are basically the same for each metal. The Mn(II) compound has a slightly different packing mode compared to the Co(II) compound, resulting from their different space groups. Interestingly, relatively weak interchain interactions are present in both compounds and this originates from π–π stacking between the dmbpy rings. The magnetic properties of both compounds have been investigated down to 2 K. The measurements indicate that the manganese compound shows spin-canted antiferromagnetic ordering with a Néel temperature of TN = 3.4 K and further, a field-induced magnetic transition of metamagnetism at temperatures below the TN. This finding affords the first example of an 1D Mn(II) compound with alternating double end-on (EO) and double end-to-end (EE) azido-bridged ligands, showing the coexistence of spin canting and metamagnetism. The cobalt compound shows a weak ferromagnetism resulting from a spin-canted antiferromagnetism and long-range magnetic ordering with a critical temperature, TC = 16.2 K.

Abstract
The crystal structure and photoluminescence properties of a new one-dimensional CdII coordination polymer constructued by azide and 1-benzylimidazole (bzi) are reported. The new title one-dimensional CdII coordination polymer, [Cd(C10H10N2)2(μ1,3-N3)2]n, has been synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The asymmetric unit consists of a CdII ion, one azide and one 1-benzylimidazole (bzi) ligand. The CdII ion is located on an inversion centre and is surrounded in a distorted octahedral coordination sphere by six N atoms from four symmetry-related azide ligands and two symmetry-related bzi ligands. The CdII ions are linked by double azide bridging ligands within a μ1,3-N3 end-to-end (EE) coordination mode, leading to a one-dimensional linear structure extending parallel to [100]. The supramolecular framework is stabilized by the presence of weak C—H⋯N interactions, π–π stacking [centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.832 (2) Å] and C—H⋯π interactions between neighbouring chains.

Abstract
A semi-flexible bipyrimidyl ligand, 5,5'-bipyrimidin (bpym), was used for the self-assembly of a transition metal coordination polymer, resulting in the formation of a nickel(II) compound, [Ni(Br)₂(bpym)₂]n (1) with a three-dimemsional (3D) structure. Single-crystal X-ray analysis showed that compound 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c and the structure represents a 3D (4,4)-connected bbe topological framework constructed of nickel(II) ions, twisted cis-μ-bpym and planar trans-μ-bpym groups. Magnetic characterization revealed that 1 shows antiferromagnetic coupling between the pyrimidyl-bridged Ni(II) ions along with weak ferromagnetism due to spin canting with a magnetic ordering below Tc = 3.4 K.

Abstract
Six novel Co(ii) coordination polymers, namely, [Co10L6(OH)2(H2O)9]·10.5H2O (1), [Co3L2(3-abpt)2]·4H2O (2), [Co3L2(4-azpy)2(H2O)2(EtOH)] (3), [Co3L2(4,4'-bipy)2(H2O)2(MeCN)] (4), [Co3L2(4,4'-bipy)2] (5), and [Co5L2(OH)2(ina)2(H2O)2] (6) (H3L = 2,2'-phosphinico-dibenzoic acid, 3-abpt = 4-amino-3,5-bis(3-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole, 4-azpy = 4,4'-azobispyridine, 4,4'-bipy = 4,4'-bipyridine, Hina = isonicotinic acid), have been hydrothermally synthesized and their magnetic properties have been characterized. The L3- anion displays six types of coordination modes in the compounds. Compound 1 exhibits a novel 1D ladder-like structure, which consists of non-centrosymmetric Co10 units. Compounds 2-4 comprise 2D networks assembled from Co3L2 chains and N-heterocyclic linkers. Compound 5 comprises a 3D framework built from six neighboring parallel Co3L2 ladders bridged by 4,4'-bipy linkers. Compound 6 features a 3D framework that exhibits pcu topology with the Schläfli symbol of (412·63) using a pentanuclear [Co5(OH)2]8+ cluster as the node. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility studies indicate that the six coordination polymers exhibit remarkable magnetic behavior such as spin-canted antiferromagnetism and spin glass, which were found to coexist in compound 6.

Abstract
The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Co(NCS)2(C7H9N)2(CH3OH)2], comprises of one CoII cation located on a centre of inversion, one thio-cyanate ligand, one methanol ligand and one 3,5-di-methyl-pyridine ligand. The CoII cation is octa-hedrally coordinated by two terminal N-bonding thio-cyanate anions, two methanol mol-ecules and two 3,5-di-methyl-pyridine ligands into a discrete complex. The complex mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯S hydrogen bonding into chains that elongate in the direction parallel to the b axis.
