Abstract
The novel heptanuclear cadmium borovanadate [Cd(en)3]{[Cd(H2O)(en)]6[B20V12O60(OH)2]}·8H2O (en = ethylenediamine) has been prepared under hydrothermal condition. It exhibits a 2D layered architecture that is built up from the [Cd(H2O)(en)]2+ coordination cations and new sandwich-type borovanadate anions [B20V12O60(OH)2]14- constructed by BO3, BO4, BO3(OH), and VO5 units. It features the first heptanuclear cadmium borovanadate containing the single valence of V4+ cations and unique B/V ratio (B/V = 20/12). Its thermal, magnetic, XPS, and optical properties have been systematically studied. The Eg (2.60 eV), EVB (1.69 eV), and ECB (-0.91 eV) were well determined by the UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectrum, UPS curve, and the formula ECB = EVB - Eg, respectively. The photocatalytic experiments revealed that the borovanadate could be selected as an effective and stable heterogeneous catalyst for the reduction of CO2 to CH4 by means of visible light (the amount for CH4 gas could reach 50.57 μmol·g-1·h-1 when the reaction time was 3 h). The recycling experiment and photocatalytic mechanism were also well investigated and established in detail.

Abstract
In aqueous solution, a novel triangle-like tungstovanadate estertin derivative K10H10.5[(W4O15(H2O)2){(SnCH2CH2COO)2(V0.75W10.75/V0.25O39)}{{(SnCH2CH2COO)2(μ-OH)}2(SnCH2CH2COO)(VW10O37)}2]·31H2O ((SnR)8-V3W35, R = CH2CH2COO) was assembled by a conventional synthetic method. (SnR)8-V3W35 is composed of one [VW11O39]7- ({VW11}) and two [VW10O37]9- ({VW10}) units connected by eight [Sn(CH2)2COO]2+ groups and a {W4O19} cluster. Interestingly, there exists a pentagonal bipyramid WO7 polyhedral center surrounded by two SnCO5 and three WO6 octahedra, forming a pentagonal {(WO7)W3(SnR)2} cluster in this polyoxometalate (POM), which is also the first example of a pentagonal structure formed by transition metals (TMs) and main group organometals in the POM family. Furthermore, the structure of this organic-inorganic hybrid POM also exhibits the largest number of organotin groups introduced into the POM system. It was characterized with various physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods, including X-ray single crystal and powder diffraction analysis, 119Sn and 51V NMR, IR, thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), etc. In addition, the catalytic activity of (SnR)8-V3W35 as a mimic of peroxidase was evaluated using o-phenylenediamine (OPD) as a peroxidase substrate. The major factors influencing the oxidation reaction such as pH, the dosage of (SnR)8-V3W35, and concentrations of OPD and H2O2 were mainly studied. (SnR)8-V3W35 exhibits good peroxidase-like catalytic activity. From another perspective, the successful acquisition of (SnR)8-V3W35 further proves the instability and easy reassembly characteristics of TM-sandwich-type tungstovanadates, which also provides a new assembly strategy for synthesizing POM-estertin derivatives.

PART A, MOLECULAR AND BIOMOLECULAR SPECTROSCOPY 2024; 311:123992. Abstract
Two novel vanadoborate compounds, [Cu(en)2]3[Li(H2O)]4[Li(H2O)3]2[V12B18O50(OH)10(H2O)]2·33.5H2O (1) and (H2en)4[Li(H2O)]4[V12B18O55(OH)5(H2O)]·14H2O (2), were synthesized via hydrothermal synthesis under identical conditions except for temperature. Structural analysis revealed that although both contain [V12B18O60]n- cluster anion, the different countercations potentially lead to variations in the [V12B18O60]n- cluster anion skeletons. In compound 1, the V4+/V5+ ratio was 10:2; while in compound 2 the ratio was 11:1. It is speculated that different countercations may influence the valence states of cluster anions. In this study, quantum chemical calculations revealed that the aromaticity and activity of the two compounds were different, and two-dimensional correlation infrared spectroscopy (2D-COS-IR) under magnetic perturbation confirmed that distinct response peaks of functional group vibrations to the magnetic field due to the different V4+/V5+ ratios and aromaticity of the two compounds. An electrochemical analysis revealed that compound 2 exhibits higher electrocatalytic activity. The results of quantum chemical calculations are aligned not only with the changes in the 2D-COS-IR spectra but also with the conclusions obtained from experiments on electrochemical properties. Overall, this work proposes a novel strategy for interpreting the alteration of vanadoborate anionic skeleton due to the introduction of different countercations by combining 2D-COS-IR with quantum chemical calculations.

Abstract
A novel 3-D open-framework zinc borovanadate [Zn₆(en)₃][(VIVO)₆(VVO)₆O₆(B18O36(OH)₆)·(H₂O)]₂·14H₂O (1, en = ethylenediamine) was hydrothermally obtained and structurally characterized. The framework was built from [V12B18O54(OH)₆(H₂O)]10- polyanion clusters bridged by Zn(en) complex fragments. The compound not only possessed a three-dimensional open-framework structure with unique plane-shaped channels, but also exhibited excellent catalytic activities for the oxidation of α-phenethyl alcohol.

Abstract
Two layered V-B-O contained polyoxometalate (POM) net structures, denoted as SUT-12 and SUT-13, are reported here. SUT-12 was synthesized by the boric acid flux method, and it represents the first 2D structure constructed from the V6B20 vanadoborate cluster. SUT-13 was synthesized by the hydrothermal method and constructed from V12B6P12 vanadium borophosphate clusters. In both structures, the vanadoborate or vanadium borophosphate clusters were linked through in situ formed Zn(DETA)2 or Cu(DETA)2 complexes. Surprisingly, for all DETA molecules in the two metal complexes, there is one dangling amine group when it is coordinated to the metal. The phenomenon of the dangling amine group feature is abnormal and the Cu(DETA)2 complexes in SUT-13 were taken as an example and studied by the density functional theory (DFT) calculations in order to understand this unusual feature.
