Abstract
A cutting-edge electrochemical method is presented for precise quantification of amitraz (AMZ), a commonly used acaricide in veterinary medicine and agriculture. Leveraging a lab-made screen-printed carbon electrode modified with a synergistic blend of perylene tetracarboxylic acid (PTCA), mesoporous carbon (MC), and Nafion, the sensor's sensitivity was significantly improved. Fine-tuning of PTCA, MC, and Nafion ratios, alongside optimization of the pH of the supporting electrolyte and accumulation time, resulted in remarkable sensitivity enhancements. The sensor exhibited a linear response within the concentration range 0.01 to 0.70 μg mL-1, boasting an exceptionally low limit of detection of 0.002 μg mL-1 and a limit of quantification of 0.10 μg mL-1, surpassing maximum residue levels permitted in honey, tomato, and longan samples. Validation with real samples demonstrated high recoveries ranging from 80.8 to 104.8%, with a relative standard deviation below 10%, affirming the method's robustness and precision. The modified PTCA/MC/Nafion@SPCE-based electrochemical sensor not only offers superior sensitivity but also simplicity and cost-effectiveness, making it a pivotal tool for accurate AMZ detection in food samples. Furthermore, beyond the scope of this study, the sensor presents promising prospects for wider application across various electrochemical analytical fields, thereby significantly contributing to food safety and advancing agricultural practices.

Abstract
Highly reliable separation and determination of various biologically active compounds were achieved using capillary electrophoresis (CE) based on β-cyclodextrin-functionalized graphene quantum dots (βcd-GQDs) as the background electrolyte additive. βcd-GQDs improve the separation efficiency between peaks of all analytes. No addition of surfactants or organic solvents was needed in the running buffer containing βcd-GQDs. Up to eight consecutive runs were acquired with high precision for the separation of resveratrol, pyridoxine, riboflavin, catechin, ascorbic acid, quercetin, curcumin, and even of several of their structural analogs. Baseline separation was achieved within just 13 min as a result of the effective mobility of the analytes along the capillary owing to the differential interaction with the additive. The proposed analytical method displayed a good resolution of peaks for all species selecting two absorption wavelengths in the diode array detector. Detection limits lower than 0.28 µg mL-1 were found for all compounds and precision values were in the range of 2.1-4.0% in terms of the peak area of the analytes. The usefulness of the GQD-assisted selectivity-enhanced CE method was verified by the analysis of food and dietary supplements. The applicability to such complex matrices and the easy and low-cost GQD preparation open the door for routine analyses of food and natural products. The concept of using such a dual approach (macromolecules and nanotechnology) has been explored to tackle the separation of various bioactive compounds in nutritional supplements and food. Abstract
We report a rapid, sensitive and selective electrochemical sensor based on pillar[5]arene (CP5) reduced graphene (rGO) nanohybrid-modified glassy carbon electrode CP5-rGO/GCE for the trace detection of methyl parathion (MP) by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) for the first time. Compared to beta-cyclodextrin (β-CD)-functionalized reduced graphene (rGO)-modified GCE β-CD-rGO/GCE, the proposed CP5-rGO/GCE sensor exhibits excellent electrochemical catalytic activity, rapid response, high sensitivity, good reproducibility and anti-interference ability towards MP. The recognition mechanism of β-CD/MP and CP5/MP was studied by 1H NMR. The results indicate a higher supramolecular recognition capability between CP5 and MP compared to that between β-CD and MP. The β-CD-rGO and CP5-rGO nano-composites were prepared via a wet chemistry approach. The resulting nano-composites have been characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR), charge transfer resistance (R ct) and zeta potential. The CP5-rGO/GCE combines the merits of CP5 and rGO, and is used for quantitative detection of MP. It has a low detection limit of 0.0003 μM (S/N = 3) and a linear response range of 0.001-150 μM for MP. This method has been used to detect MP in soil and waste water samples with satisfactory results. This study provides a promising electrochemical sensing platform and is a promising tool for the rapid, facile and sensitive analysis of MP.

Abstract
In this paper, the 3, 4, 9, 10-perylene tetracarboxylic acid-graphene (PTCA-G) composite was synthesized and the corrosion protection property of epoxy coating-coated Q235 steel containing PTCA-G composite was investigated. The results of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) proved that 3, 4, 9, 10-perylene tetracarboxylic acid (PTCA) and graphene (G) were combined via π-π interactions and hydrophobic forces between PTCA and G. The results of electrochemical tests indicated that with additives of sole PTCA, sole G and PTCA-G composite, the corrosion resistance of epoxy coating was increased compared with pure epoxy coating. And the most significant improved corrosion resistance of PTCA-G/epoxy coating might be attributed to the good dispersion and barrier performance of PTCA-G composite in the epoxy coating. Besides, compared with the corrosion protection property of PTCA-G/epoxy coating with other volume ratios, the corrosion resistance of epoxy coating containing PTCA-G composite with 10:4 vol ratio of PTCA and G was the best. It might be attributed to the excellent barrier and dispersion properties of PTCA-G composite with 10:4 vol ratio of PTCA and G.

Abstract
The introduction of cyclodextrin species to graphene-family materials (GFMs) constitutes an important area of research, especially in terms of the development of applied nanoscience. The chemistry of cyclodextrins is the so-called host-guest chemistry, which has impacted on many fields of research, including catalysis, electrochemistry and nanomedicine. Cyclodextrins are water-soluble and biocompatible supramolecules, and therefore they may introduce new interesting properties to GFMs and may enhance the physicochemical/biological features of native GFMs. The reported methods for the conjugation of cyclodextrins to GFMs utilize either covalent or non-covalent approaches. The recent progress in the applications of GFMs functionalized with cyclodextrins, with the respect to the chemistry and features of these conjugates, is discussed. Special consideration is also given to the recent developments in (i) nanomedicine, (ii) electrochemistry, (iii) adsorption and (iv) catalysis. Examples of these materials are discussed in this work, together with the future outlook on the impact of GFM-cyclodextrin conjugates in the development of applied nanoscience.

Abstract
In the present study, thiol β-cyclodextrin (SH-CD) and ethylenediamine β-cyclodextrin (NH2-β-CD) were simultaneously grafted on the same interface of an Au NP deposited carboxyl SiC (Au@CSiC) nanocomposite. An electrochemical sensor for the simultaneous determination of nitrophenol isomers (o-nitrophenol, o-NP; p-nitrophenol, p-NP) using SH-CD and NH2-β-CD functionalized Au@SiC (Au@CSiC-SH/NH2-CD) nanocomposite was successfully constructed. Differential pulse voltammetry was used to quantify o-NP and p-NP within the concentration range of 0.01-150 μM under the optimal conditions. The detection limit (S/N = 3) of the sensor was 0.019 and 0.023 μM for o-NP and p-NP, respectively, indicating a low detection limit. Interference study results demonstrated that the sensor was not affected in the presence of similar aromatic compounds during the determination of NP isomers, showing high selectivity. The proposed electrochemical sensing platform was successfully used to determine NP isomers in tap water. The low detection limit and high selectivity of the proposed electrochemical sensor were caused by the high surface area, the excellent conductivity, and the more recognized (enriched) NP isomer molecules by SH-β-CD and NH2-β-CD of the Au@CSiC-SH/NH2-CD nanocomposite.

Abstract
In this work, a series of novel multifunctionalized peryleneteracarboxylic supramolecules were synthesized based on hydrogen bonding interactions between 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic acid (PTCA) and amines, which possess large specific surface area, good membrane-forming properties and high stability. Importantly, an interesting phenomenon was found in that these series of supramolecules could conciliate disorderly redox peaks of PTCA and result in a pair of well-defined redox peaks, which were able to act as redox carriers for charge-generation and electron-transportion. And the probable mechanism for this phenomenon was discussed for the first time in detail through the integration of theoretical with practical research. To further reveal the advantages of these novel multifunctionalized supramolecule nanomaterials, PTCA/triethylamine (PTCA/TEA) was chosen as the best candidate for a redox carrier to participate in a "signal-on" aptasensor for thrombin (TB) detection by employing Fe3O4 magnetic beads (MBs) as a good enzyme mimic to catalyze the PTCA/TEA for signal amplification. As a result, a wide linear detection range of 0.0001-50 nM is acquired with a relatively low detection limit of 0.05 pM. And the proposed aptasensor exhibited good specificity and acceptable reproducibility and stability. After all, the explorations between PTCA and amines would set up a meaningful basis in seeking multifunctionalized supramolecule nanomaterials based on PTCA for extending the application of PTCA in a wider range of fields, and exploring the essential reason for the referred peculiar phenomenon for PTCA.

Abstract
Herein, a novel signal amplification strategy was designed using the perylene derivative as the co-reaction accelerator toward graphene-CdTe quantum dots (G-CdTe)/S2O8(2-) system to construct a highly sensitive electrochemiluminescent (ECL) aptasensor for thrombin (TB) detection. Firstly, the G-CdTe nanocomposites were prepared by one-step method of in situ generating CdTe quantum dots onto the surface of the graphene oxide by using 3-mercaptopropionic acid as the CdTe QDs stabilizer. Then, a kind of perylene derivative (PTC-Lys), was synthesized by covalently binding L-lysine to 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic acid, which was further immobilized onto the G-CdTe by the π-π* stacking and cross-linked the detection thrombin aptamer (TBA II) to obtain the TBA II/PTC-Lys/G-CdTe signal probes. It is worth pointing out that PTC-Lys acting as an efficient co-reaction accelerator interacted with the co-reactant of S2O8(2-) rather than G-CdTe to promote the more oxidant mediators of SO4(•-), which could further react with G-CdTe to produce excited state species G-CdTe* for emitting light. Compared with the G-CdTe/S2O8(2-) ECL system, our proposed strategy with the introduction of co-reaction accelerator of PTC-Lys exhibited ultra-high sensitivity to quantify the concentration of TB from 1.0×10(-7)nM to 10nM with a detection limit of 34aM.

Abstract
The functionalization of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) via microwave-assisted grafting reactions enables efficient multidecoration in a single step. A novel water-soluble SWCNT platform was prepared via the simple 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine ylides under dielectric heating. Thanks to a single grafting reaction the CNT surface binds in a 1 : 1 ratio an amino acidic β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) derivative and the DOTAMA moiety (1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-N,N',N'',N'''-tetraacetic acid monoamide). This novel "one shot" synthesis, compared with multistep functionalizations, preserves the SWCNT's structural integrity (TEM images). Besides thermogravimetric analyses, the determination of the amount of β-CD and DOTA moieties grafting onto the SWCNT's surface was performed on the basis of phenolphthalein and gadolinium complexation, respectively.

Abstract
A novel nanostructured catalyst of platinum nanoparticles supported on 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(1-methyl-4-pyridinio)porphyrin tetra(p-toluenesulfonate) (TMPyP) functionalized graphene (TMPyP-graphene) is synthesized by the hydrothermal polyol process. The as-synthesized nanocomposites are characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and electrochemical tests. It has been found that Pt nanoparticles of ca. 3.4 nm are uniformly dispersed on the surface of TMPyP-graphene, and hold a high electrochemical active surface area (ECSA) of 126.2 m(2) g(-1). The results demonstrate that the Pt/TMPyP-graphene catalyst exhibits a much higher electrocatalytic activity and stability than the Pt/graphene and commercial Pt/C catalysts for methanol oxidation, which is of significant importance in improving the efficiency of Pt-based electrocatalysts for DMFCs applications.
