Abstract
We have developed a straightforward and efficient synthetic protocol to produce 5,6,7,12-tetrahydrobenzo[2,3]azepino[4,5-b]indole and 7,12-dihydro-6H-benzo[2,3]oxepino[4,5-b]indole derivatives under mild conditions. This annulation process involves the intramolecular cyclization of the in situ generated ketimine moiety via the formation of dihydrospiroindolequinoline, which serves as a key intermediate in the reaction pathway. Several control experiments and spectroscopic studies were performed to elucidate the underlying reaction mechanism.

Abstract
A gold(I)-catalyzed hydroamination/cycloisomerization cascade reaction was developed to yield indolizino[8,7-b]indole and indolo[2,3-a]-quinolizine derivatives from 2-ethynyltryptamides. The optimal conditions were determined by condition screening, and the functional group tolerances of these reactions were explored based on synthetic substrates. An insight into the explanation on the selectivity of the ring closure was obtained by density functional theory calculations. A plausible mechanism for the cascade reactions was proposed. Derivatization of the indolizino[8,7-b]indole and total synthesis of nauclefidine demonstrated the practicality of this strategy.

Abstract
A series of latonduine derivatives, namely 11-nitro-indolo[2,3-d]benzazepine-7-(1-amino-hydantoin) (B), triazole-fused indolo[2,3-d]benzazepine-based Schiff bases HL1 and HL2 and metal complexes [M(p-cymene)(HL1)Cl]Cl, where M = Ru (1), Os (2), and [Cu(HL2)Cl2] (3) were synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic techniques (UV–vis, 1H, 13C, 15N–1H HSQC NMR) and ESI mass spectrometry. The molecular structures of B and HL1 were confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, while that of 3 by electron diffraction of nanometer size crystalline sample. Molecular docking calculations of species B in the binding pocket of PIM-1 enzyme revealed that the 1-amino-hydantoin moiety is not involved in any hydrogen-bonding interactions, even though a good accommodation of the host molecule in the ATP binding pocket of the enzyme was found. The antiproliferative activity of organic compounds B, HL1 and HL2, as well as complexes 1–3 was investigated in lung adenocarcinoma A549, colon adenocarcinoma LS-174 and triple-negative breast adenocarcinoma MDA-MB-231 cells and normal human lung fibroblast cells MRC-5 by MTT assays; then, the results are discussed.

Abstract
The heterogeneous gold-catalyzed cyclization of (o-alkynyl)phenoxy- or N-(o-alkynylphenyl)tolylsulfonamidoacrylates with alcohols has been developed by using an MCM-41-anchored diphenylphosphine-Au(I) complex [MCM-41-Ph2P-AuNTf2] as the catalyst under mild reaction conditions, yielding diverse functionalized benzo[b]oxepines or benzo[b]azepines with good to high yields and excellent diastereoselectivity. This heterogenized gold(I) catalyst exhibits a comparable activity to homogeneous Ph3PAuNTf2 and can be facilely recovered by a simple filtration of the reaction solution and reused more than seven times with almost a consistent catalytic efficiency.

Abstract
In this research, new derivatives of oxazolopyrazoloazepines were synthesized in high yields using multicomponent reaction of anilines, oxalylchloride, alkyl bromides, activated acetylenic compounds, hydrazine and ethyl bromopyruvate in the presence of Ag/Fe3O4/ZnO@MWCNT magnetic nanocomposite (MNCs) as a high-performance magnetic catalyst in ionic liquid at room temperature. The Ag/Fe3O4/ZnO@MWCNT magnetic nanocomposites (MNCs) were synthesized using 1-octhyl-3-methyl imidazolium bromide ([OMIM]Br) as a stabilizer and soft template. Also, the catalytic activity of the Ag/Fe3O4/ZnO@MWCNT MNCs was evaluated in reduction of organic pollutants such as 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) in water at mild conditions. The results indicated that the biosynthesized nanocomposites (NCs) have high catalytic activity for organic pollutants within few seconds. Because of having benzazepine nucleus in the synthesized compounds, we investigate antioxidant property of some synthesized oxazolopyrazoloazepines by diphenyl-picrylhydrazine radical trapping and power of ferric reduction experiment. Short time of reaction, high yields of product, easy separation of catalyst and products are some advantages of this procedure.

A series of latonduine
and indoloquinoline derivatives HL1–HL8 and their copper(II)
complexes (1–8) were synthesized and comprehensively
characterized. The structures of five compounds (HL6, [CuCl(L1)(DMF)]·DMF, [CuCl(L2)(CH3OH)], [CuCl(L3)]·0.5H2O, and [CuCl2(H2L5)]Cl·2DMF) were elucidated
by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The copper(II) complexes revealed
low micro- to sub-micromolar IC50 values with promising
selectivity toward human colon adenocarcinoma multidrug-resistant
Colo320 cancer cells as compared to the doxorubicin-sensitive Colo205
cell line. The lead compounds HL4 and 4 as well as HL8 and 8 induced apoptosis efficiently in Colo320 cells. In addition, the
copper(II) complexes had higher affinity to DNA than their metal-free
ligands. HL8 showed selective inhibition for
the PIM-1 enzyme, while 8 revealed strong inhibition
of five other enzymes, i.e., SGK-1, PKA, CaMK-1, GSK3β, and
MSK1, from a panel of 50 kinases. Furthermore, molecular modeling
of the ligands and complexes showed a good fit to the binding pockets
of these targets.

Abstract
In current research, benzazepine derivative is synthesized via a new process of four-component reaction of isatin or its derivatives, α-haloketones, activated acetylenic compounds, isoquinoline and potassium fluoride/clinoptilolite nanoparticles (KF/CP NPs) in acidic solution of H2O2 in water at room temperature. Also, antioxidation property of some prepared benzazepines is investigated by employing trapping diphenyl-picrylhydrazine (DPPH) radical and ability of ferric reduction experiment. Among investigated compounds, compounds 5c have good results relative to BHT and TBHQ as standard antioxidant. Also, the Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria disk diffusion research is used for the confirmation of antimicrobial power of some prepared benzazepines. The achieved outcomes of disk diffusion experiment showed that these compounds avoided the growth of bacteria. Our procedure has a few benefits relative to reported method such as good rate of reaction, product with high efficiency, simple removal of catalyst from mixture of reaction. In the yield of the product, KF/clinoptilolite nanoparticles show a satisfactory recyclable activity.

and therapeutic implications. In this review, the literature of the last fifty years has
been exploited for the synthesis, reaction, and biological properties of these seven-member
heterocyclic compounds. Most of the mechanisms involved the ring expansion of either five
or six-membered compounds using various methods such as thermally, photo-chemically, and
microwave irradiation. The systematically designed schemes involve the synthesis of different
derivatives of azepine, azepinone, azepane, etc., using similar moieties by various researchers.
However, there is much work yet to be done in the biological section, as it is not
explored and reported in the literature; therefore, N-containing seven-membered heterocycles
still have much scope for the researchers.

Abstract
The search for new lead compounds of simple structure, displaying highest quality anti-tumor potency with new mechanisms of action and least adverse effects is the major intention of cancer drug discovery now a days. For the time being, indole-fused azepines emerged as a simple class of compounds prolifically designed with strong pharmacological significances in particular of cancer protecting ability. In the recent years from the efforts of our research group, indole-fused heteroazepines, a simple structural class achieved by fusion of indole with oxygen, sulphur and nitrogen containing heteroazepine rings, have known for its superior outcomes in cancer treatment. Surprisingly, the chemistry and biology of these unique families with an amazing role in cancer drug discovery has remained broadly unexplored. This short review is consequently an endeavor to highlight the preliminary ideas over this structural class and to draw the medical attention towards future development of indole-fused azepines and analogues for their promising function in cancer drug discovery.

Abstract
Rapid access to allylic trichloroacetimidates bearing a 2-allylaminoaryl group from readily available 2-iodoanilines combined with a one-pot multibond forming process has allowed the efficient synthesis of a series of 5-amino-2,5-dihydro-1H-benzo[b]azepines. The potential of these compounds as synthetic building blocks was demonstrated by the preparation of a late-stage intermediate of the hyponatremia agent, mozavaptan.

Abstract
The reaction of N-allyl-N-(2-halobenzyl)-acetamides and derivatives was investigated in liquid ammonia under irradiation with the nucleophiles Me3Sn(-), Ph2P(-) and O2NCH2(-). Following this procedure, novel substituted 2-acetyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolines and substituted 2-acetyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-benzo[c]azepines were obtained in good yields. These reactions are proposed to occur through the intermediacy of aryl radicals, which by intramolecular 6-exo or 7-endo attack to a double bond cyclize to give aliphatic radicals, which react along the propagation steps of the S(RN)1 chain cycle to afford the cyclic substituted compounds as main products. The reactions were modeled with DFT methods, which provide a rational understanding that relates the product distribution to the structure of the aliphatic radicals proposed as intermediates and the kinetic of their formation.
