Abstract
Although metallic nanocatalysts such as palladium nanoparticles (Pd NPs) are known to possess higher catalytic activity due to their large surface-to-volume ratio, however, in nanosize greatly reducing their activity due to aggregation. To overcome this challenge, superparamagnetic chitosan-coated manganese ferrite was successfully prepared and used as a support for the immobilization of palladium nanoparticles to overcome the above-mentioned challenge. The Pd-Chit@MnFe2O4 catalyst exhibited high catalytic activity in 4-nitrophenol and 4-nitroaniline reductions, with respective turnover frequencies of 357.1 min-1 and 571.4 min-1, respectively. The catalyst can also be recovered easily by magnetic separation after each reaction. Additionally, the Pd-Chit@MnFe2O4 catalyst performed well in the reductive deprotection of allyl carbamate. Coating the catalyst with chitosan reduced the Pd leaching and its cytotoxicity. Therefore, the catalytic activity of Pd-Chit@MnFe2O4 was proven to be unrestricted in biology conditions.

Abstract
Nitrogen-containing heterocycles are important scaffolds for a large number of compounds with biological, pharmaceutical, industrial and optoelectronic applications. A wide range of different methodologies for the preparation of N-heterocycles are based on metal-catalyzed cyclization of suitable substrates. Due to the growing interest in Green Chemistry criteria over the past two decades, the use of supported metal catalysts in the preparation of N-heterocycles has become a central topic in Organic Chemistry. Here we will give a critical overview of all the solid supported metal catalysts applied in the synthesis of N-heterocycles, following a systematic approach as a function of the type of support: (i) metal catalysts supported on inorganic matrices; (ii) metal catalysts supported on organic matrices; (iii) metal catalysts supported on hybrid inorganic-organic matrices. In particular, we will try to emphasize the effective heterogeneity and recyclability of the described metal catalysts, specifying which studies were carried out in order to evaluate these aspects.

Abstract
One of the major challenges in chemistry confronted by the chemists is the replacement
of conventional homogeneous catalysts by heterogeneous catalysts for the development
of green, sustainable and economical chemical processes. Recently, carbón-based
nanocomposites have attracted the attention of scientists due to their unique physical and
chemical properties such as large surface area and pore volume, chemical inertness, high
stability and high electrical conductivity. These NCs have been employed in energy storage,
electronic devices, sensors, environmental remediation etc. Owing to the wide availability
and low cost, carbón-based materials have been utilized as supports for transition metals
and other materials. The carbón-based NCs offer a number of advantages such as high stability,
easy recovery, reusability with often minimal leaching of metal ions, and green and
sustainable approaches to heterogeneous catalysis for various organic transformations. Hence, they can be used
as the substitute for the existing catalyst used for heterogeneous catalysis in industries. In this review, various
processing methods for carbón-based nanocomposites and their applications as heterogeneous catalysts for organic
transformations like hydrogenation, oxidation, coupling, and multi.component reactions, have been discussed.

Abstract
Heterocycles have been found to be of much importance as several nitrogen- and oxygen-containing heterocycle compounds exist amongst the various USFDA-approved drugs. Because of the advancement of nanotechnology, nanocatalysis has found abundant applications in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds. Numerous nanoparticles (NPs) have been utilized for several organic transformations, which led us to make dedicated efforts for the complete coverage of applications of metal nanoparticles (MNPs) in the synthesis of heterocyclic scaffolds reported from 2010 to 2019. Our emphasize during the coverage of catalyzed reactions of the various MNPs such as Ag, Au, Co, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pd, Pt, Rh, Ru, Si, Ti, and Zn has not only been on nanoparticles catalyzed synthetic transformations for the synthesis of heterocyclic scaffolds, but also provide an inherent framework for the reader to select a suitable catalytic system of interest for the synthesis of desired heterocyclic scaffold.

Abstract
The acyl Sonogashira reaction represents an extension of Sonogashira cross-coupling to acid chlorides which replace aryl or vinyl halides, while terminal acetylenes are used as coupling partners in both reactions. The introduction of a carbonyl functional group on the alkyne backbone determines a radical change in the reactivity of the products. Indeed, α,β-alkynyl ketones can be easily converted into different heterocyclic compounds depending on the experimental conditions employed. Due to its potential, the acyl Sonogashira reaction has been deeply studied with particular attention to the nature of the catalysts and to the structures of both coupling compounds. Considering these two aspects, in this review, a detailed analysis of the literature data regarding the acyl Sonogashira reaction and its role in the synthesis of several heterocyclic derivatives is reported.

Abstract
This paper reports the development of robust Pd- and Ru-containing magnetically recoverable catalysts in a one-pot procedure using commercially available, branched polyethyleneimine (PEI) as capping and reducing agent. For both catalytic metals, ∼3 nm nanoparticles (NPs) are stabilized in the PEI shell of magnetite NPs, whose aggregation allows for prompt magnetic separation. The catalyst properties were studied in a model reaction of 4-nitrophenol hydrogenation to 4-aminophenol with NaBH4. A similar catalytic NP size allowed us to decouple the NP size impact on the catalytic performance from other parameters and to follow the influence of the catalytic metal type and amount as well as the PEI amount on the catalytic activity. The best catalytic performances, the 1.2 min-1 rate constant and the 433.2 min-1 turnover frequency, are obtained for the Ru-containing catalyst. This is discussed in terms of stability of Ru hydride facilitating the surface-hydrogen transfer and the presence of Ru4+ species on the Ru NP surface facilitating the nitro group adsorption, both leading to an increased catalyst efficiency. High catalytic activity as well as the high stability of the catalyst performance in five consecutive catalytic cycles after magnetic separation makes this catalyst promising for nitroarene hydrogenation reactions.

Abstract
We report a novel method for development of magnetically recoverable catalysts prepared by thermal decomposition of palladium acetylacetonate in the presence of iron oxide nanoparticles (NPs). Depending on conditions, the reaction results either in a dispersed mixture of Pd and iron oxide NPs or in their aggregates. It was demonstrated that the Pd loading, reaction temperature, solvent, and iron oxide NP size and composition are crucial to control the reaction product including the degree of aggregation of Pd and iron oxide NPs, and the catalyst properties. The aggregation controlled by polarization and magnetic forces allows faster magnetic separation, yet the aggregate sizes do not exceed a few hundred nanometers, making them suitable for various catalytic applications. These NP mixtures were studied in a selective hydrogenation of 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol to 2-methyl-3-buten-2-ol, demonstrating clear differences in catalytic behavior depending on the catalyst structure. In addition, one of the catalysts was also tested in hydrogenation of 3-methyl-1-pentyn-3-ol and 3-methyl-1-nonyn-3-ol, indicating some specificity of the catalyst toward different alkyne alcohols.

Abstract
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were covalently functionalized via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction under microwave conditions. The functionalized CNTs were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), N2 adsorption isotherms and Raman spectroscopy. The surface concentration of phenolic hydroxyl groups on the surface of CNTs was adjusted by varying the reaction temperature. In addition, we prepared Pd nanoparticle/CNT (Pd NP/CNT) nanocomposites through strong electrostatic adsorption and hydrogen reduction. The results indicated that the functional groups could not only improve the dispersion of CNTs in water, but also enhance the interaction between Pd precursors and CNTs, thus preventing small Pd NPs (average diameter of 1.5 nm) from agglomerating. Furthermore, the Pd NP/CNT-220 nanocomposites showed high catalytic activity for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol. The turnover frequency (TOF) of this catalyst was up to 18 min(-1), which was attributed to the small size and uniform distribution of Pd NPs on the surface of CNTs.

Abstract
A convergent approach provides a convenient access to synthetically and biologically useful 3,4-disubstituted 5-hydroxyindoles. The one-pot procedure uses microwave heating to initiate an intramolecular [4 + 2]-cycloaddition of an alkynol segment onto a furan followed by a fragmentation, aromatization, and N-Boc deprotection cascade. Yields range from 15 to 74%, with aromatic substituents providing better conversions. 4-Trimethylsilylated analogues undergo a 1,3-silatropic rearrangement to give the O-TMS ethers.
