Abstract
A CuH-catalyzed reductive coupling of nitroarenes with phosphine oxides is developed, which produces a series of phosphamides in moderate to excellent yields with good functional group tolerance. Gram-scale synthesis and late-stage modification of nitro-aromatic functional molecule niclosamide are also successfully conducted. The mechanism study shows that the nitro group is transformed after being reduced to nitroso and a nucleophilic addition procedure is involved during the reaction.

Abstract
Terminal Ru(v)-imido species are thought to be as reactive to group transfer reactions as their Ru(v)-oxo homologues, but are less studied. With the electron-rich corrole ligand, relatively stable and isolable Ru(v)-arylimido complexes [Ru(tBu-Cor)(NAr)] (H3(tBu-Cor) = 5,15-diphenyl-10-(p-tert-butylphenyl)corrole, Ar = 2,4,6-Me3C6H2 (Mes), 2,6-(iPr)2C6H3 (Dipp), 2,4,6-(iPr)3C6H2 (Tipp), and 3,5-(CF3)2C6H3 (BTF)) can be prepared from [Ru(tBu-Cor)]2 under strongly reducing conditions. This type of Ru(v)-monoarylimido corrole complex with S = ½ was characterized by high-resolution ESI mass spectrometry, X-band EPR, resonance Raman spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility, and elemental analysis, together with computational studies. Under heating/light irradiation (xenon lamp) conditions, the complexes [Ru(tBu-Cor)(NAr)] (Ar = Mes, BTF) could undergo aziridination of styrenes and amination of benzylic C(sp3)-H bonds with up to 90% product yields.

Abstract
We present highly diastereoselective tethered aza-Wacker cyclization reactions of alkenyl phosphoramidates. "Arming" the phosphoramidate tether with 5-chloro-8-quinolinol was essential to achieving >20:1 diastereoselectivity in these reactions. The substrate scope with respect to alkenyl alcohols and phosphoramidate tether was extensively explored. The scalability of the oxidative cyclization was demonstrated, and the product cyclophosphoramidates were shown to be valuable synthons, including for tether removal. With chiral alkenyl precursors, enantiopure cyclic phosphoramidates were formed.

Abstract
Metal-catalyzed C-N bond formation reactions via acylnitrene transfer have recently attracted much attention, but direct detection of the proposed acylnitrenoid/acylimido M(NCOR) (R=aryl or alkyl) species in these reactions poses a formidable challenge. Herein, we report on Ru(NCOR) intermediates in C-N bond formation catalyzed by [RuIV (Por)Cl2 ]/N3 COR, a catalytic method applicable to aziridine/oxazoline formation from alkenes, amination of substituted indoles, α-amino ketone formation from silyl enol ethers, amination of C(sp3 )-H bonds, and functionalization of natural products and carbohydrate derivatives (up to 99 % yield). Experimental studies, including HR-ESI-MS and EPR measurements, coupled with DFT calculations, lend evidence for the formulation of the Ru(NCOR) acylnitrenoids as a RuV -imido species.

Abstract
Intramolecular alkoxylation of C-H bonds can rapidly introduce structural and functional group complexities into seemingly simple or inert precursors. The transformation is particularly important due to the ubiquitous presence of tetrahydrofuran (THF) motifs as fundamental building blocks in a wide range of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and natural products. Despite the various synthetic methodologies known for generating functionalized THFs, most show limited functional group tolerance and lack demonstration for the preparation of spiro or fused bi- and tricyclic ether units prevalent in molecules for pharmacological purposes. Herein we report an intramolecular C-H alkoxylation to furnish oxacycles from easily prepared α-diazo-β-ketoesters using commercially available iron acetylacetonate (Fe(acac)2) as a catalyst. The reaction is proposed to proceed through the formation of a vinylic carboradical arising from N2 extrusion, which mediates a proximal H-atom abstraction followed by a rapid C-O bond forming radical recombination step. The radical mechanism is probed using an isotopic labeling study (vinyl C-D incorporation), ring opening of a radical clock substrate, and Hammett analysis and is further corroborated by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Heightened reactivity is observed for electron-rich C-H bonds (tertiary, ethereal), while greater catalyst loadings or elevated reaction temperatures are required to fully convert substrates with benzylic, secondary, and primary C-H bonds. The transformation is highly functional group tolerant and operates under mild reaction conditions to provide rapid access to complex structures such as spiro and fused bi-/tricyclic O-heterocycles from readily available precursors.

Abstract
By combining a chiral-at-metal ruthenium catalyst with catalytic amounts of tris(p-fluorophenyl)phosphine (both 1 mol%), the challenging catalytic enantioselective ring-closing C(sp3)-H amination of unactivated aliphatic azides has been achieved with high enantioselectivities.
The catalytic enantioselective intramolecular C(sp3)-H amination of aliphatic azides represents an efficient method for constructing chiral saturated cyclic amines which constitute a prominent structural motif in bioactive compounds. We report a dual catalytic system involving a chiral-at-metal bis(pyridyl-NHC) ruthenium complex and tris(4-fluorophenyl)phosphine (both 1 mol%), which facilitates the cyclization of aliphatic azides to chiral α-aryl pyrrolidines with enantioselectivities of up to 99% ee, including a pyrrolidine which can be converted to the anti-tumor alkaloid (R)-(+)-crispine. Mechanistically, the phosphine activates the organic azide to form an intermediate iminophosphorane and transfers the nitrene unit to the ruthenium providing an imido ruthenium intermediate which engages in the highly stereocontrolled C–H amination. This dual catalysis combines ruthenium catalysis with the Staudinger reaction and provides a novel strategy for catalyzing enantioselective C–H aminations of unactivated aliphatic azides.

Abstract
This work describes the synthesis of ruthenium(IV) [Formula: see text]-oxo porphyrin complexes of general formula [RuIV(TPP)(X)]2O which have been applied as catalysts in nitrene transfer reactions using aryl azides (ArN[Formula: see text] as nitrene sources. Collected data indicated that the catalytic efficiency of [RuIV(TPP)(OCH[Formula: see text]]2O was comparable to that of RuII(TPP)CO because of their analogous reactivity towards aryl azides to give the same catalytically active bis-imido species RuVI(TPP)(ArN)2. The reaction of [RuIV(TPP)(OCH[Formula: see text]]2O with Ph3CN3 or (CH[Formula: see text]SiN3 afforded [RuIV(TPP)(N[Formula: see text]]2O which was fully characterised, its molecular structure was also determined by single crystal X-ray analysis.

Abstract
This review deals with the use of ruthenium porphyrin complexes to catalyze hydrocarbon aminations. This class of versatile porphyrin catalysts are able to activate different nitrogen sources, such as iminoiodinanes and organic azides, and promote the synthesis of a variety of aza-derivatives. Many synthetic procedures have been discussed as well as catalytic mechanisms involved in order to give an overview on the use of ruthenium porphyrins to promote nitrene transfer reactions yielding aminated derivatives.

Abstract
Resonance Raman microspectroscopy has been widely used to study the structure and dynamics of porphyrins and metal complexes containing the porphyrin ligand. Here, we have demonstrated that the same technique can be adapted to examine the mechanism of a homogeneously-catalysed reaction mediated by a transition-metal-porphyrin complex. Previously it has been challenging to study this type of reaction using in situ spectroscopic monitoring due to the low stability of the reaction intermediates and elevated-temperature conditions. We have made a straightforward modification to the sample stage on a microscope for time-lapsed Raman microspectroscopy from reaction mixtures in these media. The allylic amination of unsaturated hydrocarbons by aryl azides, which can be catalysed by a ruthenium-porphyrin complex, has been used as an illustrative example of the methodology. The mechanism of this particular reaction has been studied previously using density-functional theory and kinetic approaches. The Raman measurements support the mechanism proposed in the earlier publications by providing the first experimental verification of a precursor reaction complex between the aryl azide and the ruthenium metal ion, and evidence for the formation of a mono-imido intermediate complex under conditions of high concentration of the reactant olefin.

Abstract
A simple and efficient catalytic system for direct conversion of methylarenes into aromatic oximes has been developed, with Cu(OAc)2 as catalyst, NHPI (N-hydroxyphthalimide) as additive, tert-butyl nitrite (TBN) as both the nitrogen source and the oxidant. The process proceeds under mild conditions, tolerates a wide range of substrates, affording the corresponding aromatic oximes in 63–86% yields.

Abstract
The Co(II) complex of a new D 2-symmetric chiral porphyrin 3,5-DiMes-QingPhyrin, [Co(P6)], can catalyze asymmetric aziridination of alkenes with bis(2,2,2-trichloroethyl)phosphoryl azide (TcepN3) as a nitrene source. This new Co(II)-based metalloradical aziridination is suitable for different aromatic olefins, producing the corresponding N-phosphorylaziridines in good to excellent yields (up to 99%) with moderate to high enantioselectivities (up to 85% ee). In addition to mild reaction conditions and generation of N2 as the only byproduct, this new metalloradical catalytic system is highlighted with a practical protocol that operates under neutral and non-oxidative conditions.
