Abstract
A composite fluorescent nanoprobe based on metal enhanced fluorescence (MEF) effect of gelatin-coated silver nanoparticles (AgNPs@gel) was developed for selective and sensitive detection of dopamine (DA). The characteristic fluorescence of Tb(III) was using as the detection signal and AgNPs@gel served as substrates of the MEF. Gelatin with rich amine and carboxylic groups was used not only as a co-ligand of Tb(III) complex, but also as a bridging substance and a spacing material for improving the MEF of AgNPs@gel on the intrinsic luminescent intensity of Tb(III). Under the optimal conditions, the increment of the fluorescence intensity (measured at 307/544 nm as excitation/emission wavelength) of the system increased linearly with the concentration of DA in the range of 0.80-100 nM (R2 = 0.9937) and 100-1000 nM (R2 = 0.9978). The fluorescent probe greatly improved Tb(III) luminescence, which paved the way for sensitive detection with a low detection limit of 0.54 nM. It also showed good selectivity among other neurotransmitters. This work was successfully applied to the determination of DA in human serum samples with recoveries ranging from 99.8 to 102.2%. We believe that the Tb(III)-DA-AgNPs@gel composite fluorescent probe can be developed as a new approach for DA detection.

Abstract
Three new coordination polymers, {[Ln(cbb)(Hcbb)(DMF)·H2O]n, Ln=Sm (1), Eu (2), Tb(3), H2cbb=2-(4-carboxybenzyloxy) benzoic acid, DMF=N,N-dimethylformamide}, have been synthesised by a solvothermal reaction and structurally characterised by infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, thermogravimetry analysis, and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The results of single-crystal X-ray diffraction indicate that the coordination polymers 1–3 are isostructural, belong to a triclinic system, space group P-1, and show 1D chain structures through the H2cbb ligands connecting adjacent lanthanide ions. In addition, the fluorescence properties of polymers 1–3 were also investigated.

Abstract
Three lanthanide compounds have been synthesized, namely, {[Dy2(bpda)3(H2O)3]4·2H2O}(Dy-1), {[Sm(bpda)2·(H2O)]·H2O}n (Sm-2) and {[Tb2(bpda)3(H2O)3]4·2H2O} (Tb-3) (H2bpda = 2,2′-bipyridine-6,6′-dicarboxylic acid). Their structures were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. Dy-1 and Tb-3 are isostructural with a conjugate bimolecular four-nuclear cluster structure constructed with intramolecular hydrogen bonds and they form a 3D supramolecular structure with intermolecular hydrogen bonding. Sm-2 is a one-dimensional chain structure and is further connected by intricate hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supramolecular structure. These three compounds exhibit significant characteristic luminescence from the ligand to the central Ln(iii) ion, which is found by solid-state photoluminescence measurement. Sm-2 exhibits a long luminescence lifetime and high fluorescence quantum yield. A slow relaxation phenomenon is observed for the dysprosium compound by measuring the alternating-current susceptibility at low temperature and the underlying mechanism was further confirmed by theoretical calculations. The structures, fluorescence and magnetic properties of series three lanthanide complexes have been investigated. Dysprosium complex exhibit the single-molecule behavior.![]()

Abstract
The reaction between mononuclear [Ln(bbpen)Cl] [Ln = Gd or Dy; H2bbpen = N,N'-bis-(2-hy-droxy-benz-yl)-N,N'-bis-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)ethyl-enedi-amine, C28H30N4O2] and potassium oxalate monohydrate in water/methanol produced the solvated centrosymmetric isostructural binuclear (μ-oxalato)bis-{[N,N'-bis-(2-oxidobenzyl-κO)-N,N'-bis-(pyridin-2-ylmethyl-κN)ethyl-enedi-amine-κ2 N,N']dilanthanide(III)}-methanol-water (1/4/4) complexes, [Ln 2(C28H28N4O2)2(C2O4)]·4CH3OH·4H2O, with lanthanide(III) = gadolinium(III) (Ln = Gd) and dysprosium(III) (Ln = Dy), in high yields (ca 70%) directly from the reaction mixtures. In both complexes, the lanthanide ion is eight-coordinate and adopts a distorted square-anti-prismatic coordination environment. The triclinic (P ) unit cell contains one dimeric unit together with four water and four methanol mol-ecules; in the final structural model, two of each type of solvating mol-ecule refine well. In each lanthanide(III) dimeric mol-ecule, the medium-strength O⋯H-O hydrogen-bonding pattern involves four oxygen atoms, two of them from the phenolate groups that are 'bridged' by one water and one methanol mol-ecule. These inter-actions seem to contribute to the stabilization of the relatively compact shape of the dimer. Electron densities associated with an additional water and methanol mol-ecule were removed with the SQUEEZE procedure in PLATON [Spek (2015 ▸). Acta Cryst. C71, 9-18]. These two new compounds are of inter-est with respect to magnetic properties.

Abstract
AbstractThe reaction of Cu(NO3)2·3H2O and 6-methyl-2-pyridone-4-carboxylic acid (Hhmpca) under hydrothermal condition produced a new copper(II) coordination polymer [Cu(hmpca)2(H2O)2]·4H2O (1), which has been characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The Cu(II) ions are linked by coordinating water molecule bridges to generate a polymeric chain, and adjacent chains are connected to form a layer structure through interchain N–H···O hydrogen bonding. Because of the strong hydrogen bonds of free water molecules, ladder-shaped water chains are produced. Further, the layers and the water chains are linked into a three-dimensional supramolecular structure through strong O–H···O hydrogen bonds. Magnetic susceptibility measurements have indicated that compound1shows antiferromagnetic interactions between the adjacent Cu(II) ions. Based on the crystal structure data, compound1was analyzed using hybrid density functional theory (DFT) methods at the B3LYP/6-31G(d) level, and a DFT-broken symmetry approach was applied to study the magnetic coupling behavior. The calculated exchange coupling constantJis in good agreement with the experimental data.

A specific fluorescent nanoprobe for dopamine based on the synergistic action of citrate and gold nanoparticles on Tb(III) luminescence. Mikrochim Acta 2018; 185:317. Abstract
A nanoprobe was developed for the fluorometric determination of the neurotransmitter dopamine (DA). It is based on the synergistic enhancement action of citrate and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) on the luminescence of Tb(III). AuNPs serve as substrates of surface enhanced fluorescence (SEF). Citrate, in turn, acts as a spacer for the SEF effect, a co-ligand of Tb(III) complex, and a recognizing component for DA. The synergistic action of citrate and AuNPs significantly increases the intrinsic green fluorescence of Tb(III) (best measured at excitation/emission peaks of 300/547 nm). Under the optimum conditions, the fluorescence intensity increases linearly in the 3.0 to 200 nM DA concentration ranging (with an R2 value of 0.9959), and the limit of detection (at S/N = 3) is 0.84 nM. The nanoprobe shows good selectivity for DA among other interfering neurotransmitters, some amino acids and ions. The method was applied to the detection of DA in human serum samples where it gave recoveries ranging from 100.5 to 102.9%. Graphical abstract Schematic of a Tb(III) composite fluorescent nanoprobe for the sensitive determination of dopamine (DA). Citrate and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) synergistically enhance the fluorescence of Tb(III)-DA.
