Abstract
A series of novel amine triphenolate iron complexes were synthesized and characterized using UV, IR, elemental analysis, and high-resolution mass spectrometry. These complexes were applied to the ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of cyclohexene oxide (CHO), demonstrating excellent activity (TOF > 11050 h-1) in the absence of a co-catalyst. In addition, complex C1 maintained the dimer in the presence of the reaction substrate CHO, catalyzing the ring-opening polymerization of CHO to PCHO through bimetallic synergy. Furthermore, a two-component system consisting of iron complexes and TBAB displayed the ability to catalyze the reaction of CHO with CO2, resulting in the formation of cis-cyclic carbonate with high selectivity. Complex C4 exhibited the highest catalytic activity, achieving 80% conversion of CHO at a CHO/C4/TBAB molar ratio of 2000/1/8 and a CO2 pressure of 3 MPa for 16 h at 100 °C, while maintaining >99% selectivity of cis-cyclic carbonates, which demonstrated good conversion and selectivity.

Abstract
The development of efficient heterogeneous catalysts suitable for carbon capture and utilization (CCU) under mild conditions is a promising step towards mitigating the growing concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. Herein, we report the construction of a hydrogen-bonded 3D framework, {[Zn(hfipbba)(MA)]⋅3 DMF}n (hfipbba=4,4'-(hexaflouroisopropylene)bis(benzoic acid)) (HbMOF1) utilizing ZnII center, a partially fluorinated, long-chain dicarboxylate ligand (hfipbba), and an amine-rich melamine (MA) co-ligand. Interestingly, the framework possesses two types of 1D channels decorated with CO2 -philic (-NH2 and -CF3 ) groups that promote the highly selective CO2 adsorption by the framework, which was supported by computational simulations. Further, the synergistic involvement of both Lewis acidic and basic sites exposed in the confined 1D channels along with high thermal and chemical stability rendered HbMOF1 a good heterogeneous catalyst for the highly efficient fixation of CO2 in a reaction with terminal/internal epoxides at mild conditions (RT and 1 bar CO2 ). Moreover, in-depth theoretical studies were carried out using periodic DFT to obtain the relative energies for each stage involved in the catalytic reaction and an insight mechanistic details of the reaction is presented. Overall, this work represents a rare demonstration of rational design of a porous ZnII MOF incorporating multiple functional sites suitable for highly efficient fixation of CO2 with terminal/internal epoxides at mild conditions supported by comprehensive theoretical studies.

Abstract
Chromium diamino-bis(phenolate) complexes, CrXL [where L = 6,6'-((1,4-diazepane-1,4-diyl)bis(methylene))bis(2,4-dimethylphenolato) and X = Cl- (1), OH- (2), and N3- (3)], were prepared and characterized by MALDI-TOF MS and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 crystallized as two linkage isomers, specifically a green chloride-bridged dimer (1) and a pink asymmetrically bridged isomer exhibiting one chloride bridging atom and one bridging phenolate oxygen (1'). Adventitious moisture during sample handling causes the formation of hydroxide-containing complex 2. The reaction of 1 with PPNN3 (where PPN = bis(triphenylphosphine)iminium) permits the isolation of a crystalline chromium azide complex, 3, which was structurally authenticated. Complex 1 showed good activity toward the ring-opening copolymerization of cyclohexene oxide and carbon dioxide with an added chloride, azide, or 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine (DMAP) cocatalyst to give a completely alternating polycarbonate with a narrow molecular weight dispersity.

Abstract
A highly regioselective de-aryloxylative amination of O- or N-chelating group-functionalized 2-aryloxy quinolines has been accomplished by means of a copper catalyst. The chelating functional groups of the substrate play a crucial role in directing the C-2-selective amination process, which proceeds through a novel aromatic nucleophilic substitution of the aryloxy group. The methodology provides expedient access to an important class of functionalized 2-aminoquinolines (up to 88% isolated yield) and was successfully applied for the synthesis of a key fragment of an important bioactive PRMT5 inhibitor.

Abstract
In the last few decades, the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the environment has caused havoc across the globe. One of the most promising strategies for fixation of CO2 is the cycloaddition reaction between epoxides and CO2 to produce cyclic carbonates. For the first time, we have fabricated copper-based magnetic nanocatalyst and have applied for the CO2 fixation. The prepared catalyst was thoroughly characterized using various techniques including XRD, FT-IR, TEM, FE-SEM, XPS, VSM, ICP-OES and elemental mapping. The reactions proceeded at atmospheric pressure, relatively lower temperature, short reaction time, solvent- less and organic halide free reaction conditions. Additionally, the ease of recovery through an external magnet, reusability of the catalyst and excellent yields of the obtained cyclic carbonates make the present protocol practical and sustainable.

Abstract
CO2 conversion covers a wide range of possible application areas from fuels to bulk and commodity chemicals and even to specialty products with biological activity such as pharmaceuticals. In the present review, we discuss selected examples in these areas in a combined analysis of the state-of-the-art of synthetic methodologies and processes with their life cycle assessment. Thereby, we attempted to assess the potential to reduce the environmental footprint in these application fields relative to the current petrochemical value chain. This analysis and discussion differs significantly from a viewpoint on CO2 utilization as a measure for global CO2 mitigation. Whereas the latter focuses on reducing the end-of-pipe problem "CO2 emissions" from todays' industries, the approach taken here tries to identify opportunities by exploiting a novel feedstock that avoids the utilization of fossil resource in transition toward more sustainable future production. Thus, the motivation to develop CO2-based chemistry does not depend primarily on the absolute amount of CO2 emissions that can be remediated by a single technology. Rather, CO2-based chemistry is stimulated by the significance of the relative improvement in carbon balance and other critical factors defining the environmental impact of chemical production in all relevant sectors in accord with the principles of green chemistry.

Abstract
The co-polymerization of CO2 with the non-polar monomer ethylene, though highly desirable, still presents a challenge whereas the palladium-catalyzed CO/C2 H4 co-polymerization is well understood. Building on this analogy, the goal of this study was to elucidate the feasibility of developing suitable catalysts for co-polymerizing CO2 with ethylene to polyethylene esters. Computational methods based on density functional theory were hereby employed. In the search for new catalyst lead structures, a closed catalytic cycle was identified for the palladium-catalyzed CO2 /C2 H4 co-polymerization reaction. The computational study on palladium complexes with a substituted anionic 2-[bis(2,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-phosphine]-benzene-2-hydroxo ligand revealed key aspects that need to be considered when designing ligand sets for potential catalysts for the non-alternating co-polymerization of CO2 and ethylene.

Abstract
The mechanism by which [Al(salen)]2 O complexes catalyse the synthesis of cyclic carbonates from epoxides and carbon dioxide in the absence of a halide cocatalyst has been investigated. Density functional theory (DFT) studies, mass spectrometry and (1) H NMR, (13) C NMR and infrared spectroscopies provide evidence for the formation of an unprecedented carbonato bridged bimetallic aluminium complex which is shown to be a key intermediate for the halide-free synthesis of cyclic carbonates from epoxides and carbon dioxide. Deuterated and enantiomerically-pure epoxides were used to study the reaction pathway. Based on the experimental and theoretical results, a catalytic cycle is proposed.

Abstract
Transparent films were prepared by cross‐linking polyunsaturated poly(ether carbonate)s obtained by the multicomponent polymerization of CO2, propylene oxide, maleic anhydride, and allyl glycidyl ether. Poly(ether carbonate)s with ABXBA multiblock structures were obtained by sequential addition of mixtures of propylene oxide/maleic anhydride and propylene oxide/allyl glycidyl ether during the polymerization. The simultaneous addition of both monomer mixtures provided poly(ether carbonate)s with AXA triblock structures. Both types of polyunsaturated poly(ether carbonate)s are characterized by diverse functional groups, that is, terminal hydroxy groups, maleate moieties along the polymer backbone, and pendant allyl groups that allow for versatile polymer chemistry. The combination of double bonds substituted with electron‐acceptor and electron‐donor groups enables particularly facile UV‐ or redox‐initiated free‐radical curing. The resulting materials are transparent and highly interesting for coating applications.

Abstract
The choice of the anion has a surprisingly strong effect on the incorporation of CO2 into the polymer obtained during the zinc-catalysed copolymerisation of CO2 and cyclohexene oxide. The product span ranges from polyethercarbonates, where short polyether sequences alternate with carbonate linkages, to polycarbonates with a strictly alternating sequence of the repeating units. Herein, we report on the influence of the coordination ability of the anion on the selectivity and kinetics of the copolymerisation reaction.
