Abstract
Coordination polymers (CPs) with infinite metal-sulfur bond networks have unique electrical conductivities and optical properties. However, the development of new (-M-S-)n -structured CPs is hindered by difficulties with their crystallization. Herein, we describe the use of machine learning to optimize the synthesis of trithiocyanuric acid (H3 ttc)-based semiconductive CPs with infinite Ag-S bond networks, report three CP crystal structures, and reveal that isomer selectivity is mainly determined by proton concentration in the reaction medium. One of the CPs, [Ag2 Httc]n , features a 3D-extended infinite Ag-S bond network with 1D columns of stacked triazine rings, which, according to first-principle calculations, provide separate paths for holes and electrons. Time-resolved microwave conductivity experiments show that [Ag2 Httc]n is highly photoconductive (φΣμmax =1.6×10-4 cm2 V-1 s-1 ). Thus, our method promotes the discovery of novel CPs with selective topologies that are difficult to crystallize.

Abstract
A hexagonal prismatic Cu6S6 cluster exhibits excellent near-infrared fluorescence properties due to its short Cu-Cu bonds, however, the construction of Cu6S6 cluster-based compounds with extended structures is still a challenge. Here, four new Cu6S6 cluster-based coordination compounds, formulated as Cu3(pymt)3 (1), {(CuCN)2[Cu3(mpymt)3]}n (2), {(CuSCN)[Cu3(mpymt)3]}n (3) and {(CuCN)2[Cu3(dmpymt)3]·CH3CN}n (4) (Hpymt = pyrimidine-2-thiolate, Hmpymt = 4-methyl-pyrimidine-2-thione and Hdmpymt = 4,6-dimethylpyrimidine-2-thione), have been synthesized through the reactions of mercaptopyrimidine derivatives and CuCN or CuSCN under solvo-thermal conditions and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and thermal gravimetric analysis. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that compound 1 is a zero-dimensional Cu6(pymt)6 molecule containing a distorted pseudo-hexagonal prismatic Cu6S6 core. Compounds 2 and 4 with isomorphic frameworks but different organic linkers show a rare three-dimensional framework with nor topology constructed from Cu6(mpymt)6 units and one-dimensional chiral [Cu(CN)]n chains; compared with compound 2, a more hydrophobic one-dimensional channel in compound 4 is observed due to the increase of the methyl groups on the pyrimidine ligand, in which acetonitrile molecules are filled in the channels of compound 4. Compound 3 shows a rare two-dimensional layer constructed from Cu6(mpymt)6 units and one-dimensional puckered (CuSCN)n chains. For the first time, Cu6S6 clusters are connected to one-dimensional inorganic CuCN (or CuSCN) chains through mercaptopyrimidine derivatives to obtain extended arrays in compounds 2-4. The crystals of compounds 1-4 in the solid state all show apparent red light emission. Compound 4 shows sensitive luminescence quenching response to nitrobenzene (NB), and the corresponding quenching constant (Ksv) and detection limit are 2.06 × 103 M-1 and 9.27 ppm, respectively. This study provides a new strategy to construct Cu6S6 cluster-based coordination polymers that have great potential in various applications such as luminescence sensing.

Abstract
Two new metal coordination complexes, namely, poly[aqua(μ6-benzene-1,2,4,5-tetracarboxylic acid-κ8O1:O1,O2:O2':O4:O4,O5:O5')(μ-but-2-enedioato-κ2O1:O4)potassium(I)], [K2(C4H2O4)(C10H6O8)(H2O)2]n or [K2(fum)(H4btec)(H2O)2]n, (1), and poly[aqua(μ8-2,5-dicarboxybenzene-1,4-dicarboxylato-κ12O1:O1',O2:O2,O2':O2':O4:O4',O5:O5,O5':O5')(μ-ethanedioato-κ4O1,O2:O1',O2')strontium(II)], [Sr2(C2O4)(C10H4O8)(H2O)2]n or [Sr2(ox)(H2btec)(H2O)2]n, (2) (H4btec = benzene-1,2,4,5-tetracarboxylic acid, H2btec = 2,5-dicarboxybenzene-1,4-dicarboxylate, fum = fumarate and ox = oxalate), have been obtained under hydrothermal conditions by reacting the different alkali and alkaline earth metal salts with H4btec, fumaric acid (H2fum) and oxalic acid (H2ox). Complexes (1) and (2) were structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and thermogravimetic analysis-differential scanning calorimetry (TGA-DSC). Complex (1) displays a two-dimensional (2D) layer with the K+ ion in a distorted pentagonal bipyramidal geometry and exhibits a uninodal 6-connected hxl/Shubnikov plane net (3,6) with {36.46.53} topology. Complex (2) displays a three-dimensional (3D) network structure, in which the Sr2+ ion is in a distorted monocapped square antiprism geometry. The framework possess a binodal (5,8)-connected net with the Schläfli symbol {32.410.58.64.74}{32.46.52}2. The 3D Hirshfeld surfaces and 2D fingerprint plots show that the main interactions are the O...H/H...O intermolecular interactions. Moreover, the thermal decompositions of (1) and (2) in the temperature range 303-1273 K revealed that they both decompose in three steps and transform to the corresponding metal oxide.

Abstract
Metal-ion-responsive transcriptional regulators within the MerR family effectively discriminate between mono- and divalent metal ions. Herein we address the origin of the specificity of the CueR protein for monovalent metal ions. Several spectroscopic techniques were employed to study Ag(I) , Zn(II) , and Hg(II) binding to model systems encompassing the metal-ion-binding loop of CueR from E. coli and V. cholerae. In the presence of Ag(I) , a conserved cysteine residue displays a pKa value for deprotonation of the thiol that is close to the physiological pH value. This property is only observed with the monovalent metal ion. Quantum chemically optimized structures of the CueR metal site with Cys 112 protonated demonstrate that the conserved Ser 77 backbone carbonyl oxygen atom from the other monomer of the homodimer is "pulled" towards the metal site. A common allosteric mechanism of the metalloregulatory members of the MerR family is proposed. For CueR, the mechanism relies on the protonation of Cys 112.
