Abstract
Heterometallic {Eu2Cd2} complexes [Eu2(NO3)2Cd2(Phen)2(2,4-Nbz)8]n·2nMeCN (I) and [Eu2(MeCN)2Cd2(Phen)2(3,5-Nbz)10] (II) with the 2,4-dinitrobenzoate (2,4-Nbz) and 3,5-dinitrobenzoate (3,5-Nbz) anions and 1,10-phenanthroline were synthesized. The compounds obtained were characterized by X-ray single-crystal analysis, powder X-ray diffraction analysis, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. Moreover, the thermal stability of the complexes was also studied. Analysis of the crystal packing showed that where 1,10-phenanthroline is combined with various isomers of dinitrobenzoate anions, different arrangements of non-covalent interactions are observed in the complex structures. In the case of the compound with the 2,4-dinitrobenzoate anion, these interactions lead to a significant distortion of the metal core geometry and formation of a polymeric structure, while the complex with the 3,5-dinitrobenzoate anion has a structure that is typical of similar systems. The absence of europium metal-centered luminescence at 270 nm wavelength was shown. For all the reported compounds, a thermal stability study was carried out that showed that the compounds decomposed with a significant thermal effect.

Abstract
A unique metal-organic framework with the formula [Cd4(H2L)2(L)·H2O]·3H2O (H4L = 5,5'-(1H-1,2,4-triazole-3,5-diyl)diisophthalic acid) was successfully constructed under solvothermal conditions. The frameworks with multiple free Lewis base sites and Lewis acid sites exhibited easily sensitized properties. After the encapsulation of Tb3+ cations, the as-synthesized Tb3+@Cd-MOF demonstrated strong luminescence induced by the efficient energy transfer from the bridging ligands to the Tb3+ cations, with the potential to serve as a chemical sensor. Interestingly, Tb3+@Cd-MOF was proven to be a very promising and highly selective and sensitive luminescent platform for the quantitative detection of arginine, which is the biomarker of cystinuria. The fluorescent probe presented high selectivity to arginine in urine with strong luminescence quenching. Furthermore, a convenient fluorescence-based test paper for the visual detection of arginine in applications was prepared. For the first time, arginine was quantified and monitored in urine by a highly efficient recyclable fluorescent sensor based on Tb3+-functionalized MOF hybrids, which may be a potential candidate for the further development of clinical diagnostic tools.

Abstract
A new 3d-4f heterometallic polymer, poly[[aqua-μ3-chlorido-[μ3-4-(pyridin-4-yl)benzoato]tris[μ2-4-(pyridin-4-yl)benzoato]dicopper(I)erbium(III)] dihydrate], {[Cu2Er(C12H8NO2)4Cl(H2O)]·2H2O}n, was synthesized by the hydrothermal reaction of Er2O3, CuCl2·2H2O and 4-(pyridin-4-yl)benzoic acid in the presence of HClO4. The asymmetric unit contains one Er(3+) cation, two Cu(+) cations, one Cl(-) anion, four deprotonated 4-(pyridin-4-yl)benzoate ligands, one coordinated aqua ligand and two solvent water molecules. This tubular one-dimensional polymer is constructed from alternating clusters of europium(III)-water and copper(I) chloride bridged by 4-(pyridin-4-yl)benzoate ligands. Extensive hydrogen-bonding interactions involving both the coordinated and the solvent water molecules provide further stabilization to the structure.
