Induced chirality at the surface: fixation of a dynamic M/P invertible helical Co3 complex on SiO2

Dynamic M/P invertible helicity was successfully induced at a SiO2 surface immobilized with a dynamic helical trinuclear cobalt complex, [LCo3(NHMe2)6](OTf)3, using chiral ((R) or (S))-1-phenylethylamine. Solid-state CD spectra and theoretical calculations suggested that the fixation of the M/P helical complex on the surface via coordination interactions was the key factor of the induced chirality at the surface.

Immobilization of a trimeric ruthenium cluster in mesoporous chromium terephthalate and its catalytic application

Molecular trimeric ruthenium carboxylate clusters (Ru₃ clusters) have been introduced into the pore channels of mesoporous metal-organic framework chromium terephthalate [MIL-101(Cr)] by employing a facile two-step post-synthetic strategy in which diamine hooks anchored on the framework metal nodes of the MOF are used to covalently immobilize the Ru₃ clusters. The catalytic activity of the isolated Ru₃ clusters in the pore channels of the MOF was significantly improved compared to the bulk counterpart.

A binary catalyst system of a cationic Ru-CNC pincer complex with an alkali metal salt for selective hydroboration of carbon dioxide

Binary catalyst systems comprising a cationic Ru-CNC pincer complex and an alkali metal salt were developed for selective hydroboration of CO₂ utilizing pinacolborane at r.t. and 1 atm CO₂, with the combination of [Ru(CNC_Bn)(CO)₂(H)][PF₆] and KOCO₂^tBu producing formoxyborane in 76% yield. A bicyclic catalytic mechanism was proposed and discussed.
