Abstract
Pt-containing meta- and para-linked poly(phenyleneethynylene)s were synthesized by the dehydrochlorination coupling polymerization of PtCl2(PBu3)2 with m- and p-diethynylbenzenes. The formed polymers were sintered at 900 °C to obtain Pt-graphene hybrids, whose structures were examined by Raman scattering spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements. Shapes─facets, terraces, and steps─with average diameters of 2.0-3.4 μm were observed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). The Pt-graphene hybrids moderately adsorbed CO2 and O2 and slightly adsorbed ethylene and methane. Epoxidation of stilbene was carried out using Pt-graphene hybrids as catalysts to obtain stilbene oxide.

Modulating Charges of Dual Sites in Multivariate Metal-Organic Frameworks for Boosting Selective Aerobic Epoxidation of Alkenes. J Am Chem Soc 2023; 145:11085-11096. Abstract
Selective aerobic epoxidation of alkenes without any additives is of great industrial importance but still challenging because the competitive side reactions including C═C bond cleavage and isomerization are difficult to avoid. Here, we show fabricating Cu(I) single sites in pristine multivariate metal-organic frameworks (known as CuCo-MOF-74) via partial reduction of Cu(II) to Cu(I) ions during solvothermal reaction. Impressively, CuCo-MOF-74 is characteristic with single Cu(I), Cu(II), and Co(II) sites, and they exhibit the substantially enhanced selectivity of styrene oxide up to 87.6% using air as an oxidant at almost complete conversion of styrene, ∼25.8% selectivity increased over Co-MOF-74, as well as good catalytic stability. Contrast experiments and theoretical calculation indicate that Cu(I) sites contribute to the substantially enhanced selectivity of epoxides catalyzed by Co(II) sites. The adsorption of two O2 molecules on dual Co(II) and Cu(I) sites is favorable, and the projected density of state of the Co-3d orbital is closer to the Fermi level by modulating with Cu(I) sites for promoting the activation of O2 compared with dual-site Cu(II) and Co(II) and Co(II) and Co(II), thus contributing to the epoxidation of the C═C bond. When other kinds of alkenes are used as substrates, the excellent selectivity of various epoxides is also achieved over CuCo-MOF-74. We also prove the universality of fabricating Cu(I) sites in other MOF-74 with various divalent metal nodes.

Abstract
Using a one-pot assembly method, two novel copper-containing Keggin-type polyoxometalates (POMs)-based metal-organic complexes, that is, [CuII2(pbba)2NO3-(H2O)2(PW12O40)]·3H2O [PW12-Cu-pbba, H2pbba = 1,1'-(1,4-phenylene-bis(methylene))-bis(pyridine-3-carboxylic acid)] and [CuII2(pbba)2(H2O)2(GeW12O40)]·3H2O (GeW12-Cu-pbba), were successfully synthesized. These two complexes are isostructural, differing only in their POM components. They are applicable as heterogeneous catalysts for the C-H bond oxidation of benzylic compounds and olefin epoxidation under mild conditions, with oxygen as the oxidant and isobutyraldehyde as the coreductant. The catalytic activity of PW12-Cu-pbba was superior to that of GeW12-Cu-pbba. Under the optimal conditions, PW12-Cu-pbba catalyzed the oxidation of indane into 1-indanone with an 81% yield and >99% selectivity within 48 h. As heterogeneous catalysts, both complexes demonstrated excellent recoverability and high stability and could be stably reused five times without significant activity loss.

Abstract
Herein, we report the synthesis, characterization, and biological properties of eleven (3a-3k) novel Schiff bases. The spectral data of FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and LC-MS are associated with these synthesized compounds. From the FT-IR analysis, we confirmed the azomethine (-C=N-) group and from 1H NMR data, the phenolic –OH proton is appeared at range δ 13.92–14.09ppm due to hydrogen bonding. The LC-MS analysis agreed with molecular ion peaks of synthesized Schiff bases. To evaluate the antibacterial activity of newly synthesized compounds were screened against b. licheniformis, b. species, e. coli, and s. aureus. Furthermore, the antioxidant activity was investigated by two methods 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl hydrazyl (DPPH) and hydroxyl radical scavenging methods. The (-NO2,-Cl,-Br,-I) substituted compounds have shown good antibacterial activity against tested organisms. Also, these compounds were exhibited higher antioxidant activity by given methods.

Abstract
Herein we report a discrete heterometallic Pd4Cu8L8 cage with a tubular structure, which was synthesized by the assembly of copper metalloligands and PdII ions in a stepwise manner. The Pd4Cu8L8 cage has been unequivocally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, electrospray ionization-mass spectroscopy, and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The cage showed excellent catalytic activity in the epoxidation of styrene and its derivatives under conditions without using additional solvent, providing potential material for catalyzing the oxidation reactions.

Abstract
Graphene-based nanocomposites with inorganic (metal and metal oxide) nanoparticles leads to materials with high catalytic activity for a variety of chemical transformations. Graphene and its derivatives such as graphene oxide, highly reduced graphene oxide, or nitrogen-doped graphene are excellent support materials due to their high surface area, their extended π-system, and variable functionalities for effective chemical interactions to fabricate nanocomposites. The ability to fine-tune the surface composition for desired functionalities enhances the versatility of graphene-based nanocomposites in catalysis. This review summarizes the preparation of graphene/inorganic NPs based nanocomposites and their use in catalytic applications. We discuss the large-scale synthesis of graphene-based nanomaterials. We have also highlighted the interfacial electronic communication between graphene/inorganic nanoparticles and other factors resulting in increased catalytic efficiencies.

Abstract
We report stable and heterogeneous graphene oxide (GO)–intercalated copper as an efficient catalyst for the organic transformations in green solvents. The GO-intercalated copper(II) complex of bis(1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane) [Cu(II)-bis-cyclen] was prepared by a facile synthetic approach with a high dilution technique. The as-prepared GO-Cu(II)-bis-cyclen nanocomposite was used as a click catalyst for the 1,3 dipolar Huisgen cycloaddition reaction of terminal alkyne and azide substrates. On directing a great deal of attention toward the feasibility of the rapid electron transfer rate of the catalyst in proliferating the yield of 1,2,3-triazole products, the click catalyst GO-Cu(II)-bis-cyclen nanocomposite was designed and synthesized via non-covalent functionalization. The presence of a higher coordination site in an efficient 2D nanocomposite promotes the stabilization of Cu(I) L-acetylide intermediate during the catalytic cycle initiated by the addition of reductants. From the XRD analysis, the enhancement in the d-interlayer spacing of 1.04 nm was observed due to the intercalation of the Cu(II)-bis-cyclen complex in between the GO basal planes. It was also characterized by XPS, FT-IR, RAMAN, UV, SEM, AFM, and TGA techniques. The recyclability of the heterogeneous catalyst [GO-Cu(II)-cyclen] with the solvent effect has also been studied. This class of GO-Cu(II)-bis-cyclen nanocomposite paves the way for bioconjugation of macromolecules through the click chemistry approach.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to immobilize a Co(ii) salen complex on KCC-1 as a catalyst that can be recovered (Co(ii) salen complex@KCC-1). Field-emission transmission electron microscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, elemental analysis, atomic absorption spectroscopy, and XRD were used to confirm the structure and chemical nature of Co(ii) salen complex@KCC-1. The oxidation efficiency was obtained for an extensive range of sulfides and alcohols using this sustainable catalyst, alongside O2 as an oxygen source and isobutyraldehyde (IBA) as an oxygen acceptor, with superior selectivity and conversion for the relevant oxidation products (sulfoxides and ketones or aldehydes) under moderate conditions. The μ-oxo and peroxo groups on the ligands of the Co complex appeared to be responsible for the superior activity of the catalyst. Essential factors behind the oxidation of alcohol and sulfoxides were investigated, including the catalyst, solvent, and temperature. In this paper, molecular oxygen (O2) was used as a green oxidant. Furthermore, kinetic studies were conducted, revealing a first-order reaction for the oxidation of both benzyl alcohol and sulfide. The reaction progressed at mild temperature, and the catalyst could be easily recovered and reused for numerous consecutive runs under the reaction conditions, without any substantial reduction in the functionality of the catalytic system.

Abstract
Nickel(II), copper(II), and palladium(II) complexes MLH, where M = Ni (1), Cu (2), Pd (3), and MLOMe, where M = Ni (4), Cu (5), Pd (6), have been prepared by reactions of NiCl2·6H2O, Cu(OAc)2·H2O, and PdCl2(MeCN)2 with 14-membered bis-semicarbazide hexaazamacrocycles H2LH and H2LOMe in dimethylformamide (DMF). The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, ESI mass spectrometry, IR, UV-vis, and 1D (1H, 13C) and 2D (1H-1H COSY, 1H-1H TOCSY, 1H-1H NOESY, 1H-13C HSQC, 1H-13C HMBC) NMR spectra (1, 3, 4, and 6), and X-ray diffraction (2, 4-6). The complexes with MIIN4 coordination environment have S = 0, 1/2, 0 ground states for Ni, Cu, and Pd, respectively. The electrochemical behavior of 1-6 was investigated in detail. The electronic structures of 1e-oxidized species were studied by EPR, UV-vis-NIR spectroelectrochemistry, and DFT calculations, indicating the redox-noninnocent behavior of the ligands. Compounds 1-6 were tested in the oxidation of styrene and C-C coupling (Henry and Knoevenagel condensations). Compounds 2 and 5 selectively catalyze the microwave-assisted oxidation of neat styrene to benzaldehyde (up to 88% yield), whereas the 1 and 4 catalytic systems afforded up to 99% β-nitroethanol yield with an appreciable diastereoselectivity toward the formation of the anti isomer.

Abstract
Tailoring the structures of catalysts and the arrangement of organic bimetallic catalysts are essential in both fundamental research and applications. However, they still impose enormous challenges such as size and active species distribution, ordered uniformity, and controllable composition, which are critical in determining their specific activities and efficiency. Herein, a novel terpyridine-based hetero-bimetallic Ni/Pd nanosheet supported on graphene oxide (denoted as GO@Tpy-Ni/Pd) was fabricated, which exhibited higher catalytic activity, substrate applicability and recyclability for the Suzuki coupling reaction under mild conditions. The catalytic mechanism was heterogeneous catalysis at the interface and the synergetic effect between Pd and Ni resulted in a little Ni(0)/Pd(0) cluster including Pd(ii)/Ni(ii) as a whole being formed through electron transfer on the catalytic surface. This phenomenon could be interpreted as the nanoscale clusters of Ni/Pd being the real active centre stabilized by the ligand and GO and the synergetic effect. The absorption and desorption of different substrates and products on Ni/Pd clusters, as calculated by DFT, was proved to be another key factor. The synergistic effect between Ni and Pd atom was the crucial factor for enhancing catalytic activity.![]()

Abstract
In this research, a novel palladium-containing modified-graphene oxide (GO-N2S2/Pd) catalyst is designed and synthesized for the Suzuki-Miyaura reaction. The prepared catalyst was characterized by different techniques, such as thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). The catalytic performance of the synthesized catalyst was evaluated in the Suzuki cross-coupling reaction of phenylboronic acid and aryl halides with K2CO3 as a base. Good recoverability and reusability of this heterogeneous catalyst at the end of the reaction were observed.

Stepwise Construction of Ru(II)Center Containing Chiral Thiourea Ligand on Graphene Oxide: First Efficient, Reusable, and Stable Catalyst for Asymmetric Transfer Hydrogenation of Ketones. Abstract
Heterogenization of homogenous catalysts on solid support has attracted tremendous attention in organic synthesis due to the key benefits of heterogenized catalysts such as easy recovery and reusability. Although a considerable number of heterogenized catalysts are available, to the best of our knowledge, there is no efficient and reusable heterogenized catalyst reported for asymmetric reactions to date. Herein, we prepared a [RuCl2(η6-p-cymene)]/chiralthiourea ligand covalently bonded to graphene nanosheets (G-CLRu(II), where G represents graphene oxide (GO), CL denotes chiral N-((1-phenylethyl)carbamothioyl)acetamide and Ru(II) symbolizes [RuCl2(η6-p-cymene)]), for the asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of ketones. Five simple steps were involved in the preparation of the G-CLRu(II) catalyst. The structure of G-CLRu(II) was investigated by means of various spectroscopic and microscopic techniques. Coordination mode and covalent bonding involved in the G-CLRu(II) structure we reconfirmed. G-CLRu(II) demonstrated good catalytic performance towards the asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of ketones (conversion of up to 95%, enantiomeric excesses (ee) of up to 99%, and turnover number (TON) and turnover frequency (TOF) values of 535.9 and 22.3 h−1, respectively). A possible mechanism is proposed for the G-CLRu(II)-catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of ketones. Recovery (~95%), reusability (fifth cycle, yield of 89% and ee of 81%), and stability of G-CLRu(II) were found to be good. We believe that the present stepwise preparation of G-CLRu(II) opens a new door for designing various metal-centered heterogenized chiral catalysts for asymmetric synthesis.

Abstract
In this work, pharmaceutically and biologically important compounds containing imidazo[1,5-a]pyridine nuclei have been synthesized via transannulation of N-heteroaryl aldehydes or ketones with alkylamines using a graphene oxide-supported copper catalyst. The nanocatalyst was fabricated by the covalent immobilization of 4-aminoantipyrine onto an amine-functionalized graphene oxide nanosupport followed by its metallation with copper acetate. Structural analysis by transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and X-ray diffraction demonstrates that the two-dimensional sheet-like structure of graphene oxide is maintained even after the chemical modifications, whereas XPS revealed crucial information related to elemental composition and surface electronic states of the metal present in the catalyst. Apart from this, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy helped in identifying the degree of oxidation and the presence of oxygenated groups in graphene oxide nanocomposites. As a heterogeneous catalyst, this graphene oxide-supported copper complex showed moderate to good catalytic activity in the C(sp3)-H bond activation/amination of a variety of substrates. This superior catalytic performance originated from the unique 2-dimensional structure of graphene oxide-based material which provided space between graphitic overlayers due to appropriate positioning of metal on their basal planes, decreasing the diffusion resistances of reactant surfaces, thus making it function as a nanoreactor. More importantly, this nanomaterial could be recovered easily and reused repeatedly by simple washing without chemical treatment with no appreciable loss in its catalytic activity, showing good potential for increasing the overall turnover number of this synthetically useful catalyst.
