Abstract
A BF3·OEt2-catalyzed cascade cyclization reaction of vinyloxirane with coumarin is described, affording the benzocoumarin derivatives with moderate to excellent yields (72-92%). The reaction demonstrates exceptional substrate tolerance and has been extensively explored for its potential in drug development, including scale-up experiments, functional group transformations, and screening of the products for anticancer activity. Moreover, the reaction mechanism has been rigorously validated through intermediate trapping and control experiments. Additionally, this reaction represents the uncommon nonmetal catalyzed intermolecular cyclization of vinyloxiranes.

Abstract
A 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene-promoted cascade double-annulation of ortho-alkynyl quinone methide (in situ generated from modular propargylamine) for constructing of 2-aryl-4-hydroxybenzo[c]chromen-6-ones is developed. This synthetic strategy offers remarkable operational simplicity as it allows the use of benchtop-grade solvents without the need for predrying measures and inert atmosphere protection. Additionally, it demonstrates good functional group compatibility. The photophysical properties of these compounds were also examined, revealing bright fluorescence with high quantum yields.

Abstract
A DBU-mediated cascade strategy of propargylamines with dimethyl 3-oxoglutarate for constructing a functionalized benzo[c]chromen-6-one core has been achieved. This cascade process presumably involves a sequence of 1,4-conjugate addition, followed by lactonization, alkyne-allene isomerization, enol-keto tautomerization, 6π-electrocyclization, and aromatization. This protocol features mild reaction conditions, simple operation, rich structural diversity, and good functional group tolerance. A photophysical survey reveals that the benzo[c]chromen-6-one products exhibit fluorescence properties and show potential for exploring fluorescent material applications.

Abstract
AbstractThe base-catalyzed reaction of diethyl 1,3-acetonedicarboxylate with 2-hydroxybenzylidene indenediones was studied. The reaction provides a facile and expeditious protocol for the synthesis of natural product inspired fluorenone-fused coumarins in good to very good yields. This process resembles a combination of domino Michael–intramolecular Knoevenagel–aromatization–lactonization reactions in a single step. Although this reaction operates with many bases, the best yields were obtained with DMAP as a catalyst. This protocol could open new potential avenues for the synthesis of fused coumarins by the reaction of substituted β-keto esters with different 2-(2-hydroxybenzylidenes) of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds.

Abstract
The efficiency and selectivity of annulation reactions are often difficult to control in the presence of multiple potential reactive centers, like in the case of allylic sulfur ylides (ASY). Here, we describe a novel base mediated [3+3] benzannulation of ASY and readily available alkynones, which accomplishes the regioselective formation of multisubstituted thioanisoles, highly sought after chemical scaffolds. A new reactivity pattern of ASY has been unearthed, where it acted as both a 3C component and sulfur source in benzannulation. Use of a widely available base, operational simplicity and broad substrate scope are the additional salient features of the conversion.

The cascade being by a base-mediated intramolecular aldol cyclization/dehydration sequence to provide a triene, which sets the stage for a 6π-electrocyclization/oxidative aromatization to access diverse heterocyclic scaffolds.

Abstract
An oxidant-free three-component synthesis of biologically significant 7-amino-6H-benzo[c]chromen-6-ones was established involving a Sc(OTf)3 catalyzed three-component reaction between primary amines, β-ketoesters and 2-hydroxychalcones under green conditions. In this strategy, both the B and C rings of 6H-benzo[c]chromen-6-ones were constructed simultaneously starting from acyclic precursors by generating four new bonds including two C-C, one C-N and one C-O in a single synthetic operation. The mechanism of this sequential cascade process involves the initial formation of a β-enaminone intermediate followed by Michael addition with 2-hydroxychalcone, intramolecular cyclization, dehydration, lactonization and aromatization steps. Unlike the related literature approaches, this reaction delivered the products without the addition of any external oxidants to achieve the key aromatization step.

Abstract
A good regioselective, high atom-economical and transition-metal-free method for the synthesis of α-functionalized ether derivatives via the domino radical cyclization of 1,6-enynes is described. A series of α-functionalized ether derivatives could be easily obtained in good yields with wide functional group tolerance by using less toxic and inexpensive Cs2CO3 as the base. The control experiment results show that the reaction involves a radical process. This strategy provides a regioselective way toward the formation of dual C-C bonds in one step.

Abstract
An expedient one-pot protocol for the synthesis of functionalized benzofuran containing fused and spiro-heterocycles has been accomplished by the modified Hauser-Kraus (HK) annulation of sulfonylphthalide with o-hydroxychalcones and o-hydroxynitrostyrylisoxazoles. The multicascade process involves Michael addition, Dieckmann cyclization, and a series of cyclizations, eliminations, and rearrangements to deliver the fused and spiro-heterocyclic products. An unusual transformation of fused indenofuran to naphthoquinone, the classical HK adduct, unraveled a novel pathway for the synthesis unsymmetrical naphthoquinones.

Abstract
An efficient, oxidant and metal-free synthesis of polycyclic heteroaromatic coumarins was developed. H-Furo[2',3':3,4]naphtho[2,1-c]chromen-4-one (2a-2f), 1H-benzofuro[2',3':3,4]naphtho[2,1-c]chromen-1-one (2g-2j), and 4H-thieno[2',3':3,4]naphtho[2,1-c]chromen-4-one (2k-2s) derivatives were obtained by the irradiation of 4-phenyl-3-heteroarylcoumarin in EtOH-H2O (9:1, v/v) using a high-pressure Hg lamp as the light source, at room temperature and under an Ar atmosphere. Owing to the expansion of the π-conjugation system, 2a-2s showed strong fluorescence emissions in ethanol solution ( ΦF = 0.40-0.83).

Abstract
An amine-triggered facile synthetic approach of anthranilates has been described through benzannulation of readily available chemicals under one-pot solvent-free conditions using Ca(OTf)2 as the sustainable catalyst. In this regioselective approach, we described a reasonably longer cascade, which proceeds through β-enamino ester formation/Michael addition/intramolecular aldol reaction/elimination/aromatization/oxidative debenzylation/lactonization with a broad substrate scope and high yields. The isolation of intermediates authenticated the mechanism, and the synthetic utility of the products was also demonstrated.

Abstract
A convergent and efficient NHC-catalyzed enantioselective tandem Michael addition/lactonization sequence of ynals with 1,2-dione is disclosed. This strategy expeditiously assembles the valuable optically active fused dihydropyranones in good to high yields and with excellent enantioselectivities.

Abstract
Drawing upon a consecutive amide coupling and intramolecular cyclisation pathway, a one-pot, straightforward synthetic route has been developed for a range of pyrazole fused γ-pyrone derivatives. The reaction mechanism proposed for the chemoselective formation of γ-pyranopyrazole is furthermore fully supported by experimental and computational studies.
