Abstract
Improving the properties of the existing two-dimensional (2D) materials is a major concern for many researchers today. Synergistic coupling of single-phase 2D material species with secondary functional materials has resulted in 2D nanohybrids with significantly enhanced properties beyond the sum of their individual components. In particular, nanohybrids created by alternatingly integrating different material species in the confined 2D nanometer regime have the potential to meet the needs of a wide variety of applications, particularly the many important energy-related applications that are of interest. However, scaling up production of 2D nanohybrids is still challenging, which is a major barrier to their practical application. Delamination and exfoliation by physical means separate the weakly bound 2D nanosheets into kinetically stable single- or few-layers. Herein, we provide a concise overview of recent achievements in the physical exfoliation-based fabrication of 2D nanohybrids featuring controlled heterolayered structures. Several strategies to efficiently produce heterolayered 2D nanohybrids in large quantities are described, such as (i) coexfoliation of different 2D species, (ii) aqueous-phase synthesis, and (iii) gas-phase synthesis. The versatility of the 2D nanohybrids was also illustrated by remarkable research examples, especially in energy-related applications.

Abstract
Here, we prepared UiO-66-NH2 and employed a post-synthesis modification method for its functionalization with a β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) organic compound. The resulting composite was employed as a support for the heterogenization of the Pd NPs. Various techniques, including FT-IR, XRD, SEM, TEM, EDS, and elemental mapping, were used to characterize UiO-66-NH2@β-CD/PdNPs, indicating its successful preparation. Three C-C coupling reactions, including the Suzuki, Heck, and Sonogashira coupling reactions, were promoted using the produced catalyst. As a result of the PSM, the proposed catalyst displays improved catalytic performance. In addition, the suggested catalyst was highly recyclable up to 6 times.

Abstract
Sustainable noble metal-N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHC's) are a topic of arising concern in both the chemical industry and the academic community due to a growing consciousness of environmental pollution and scarcity. Recovering and reusing homogeneous catalysts from the reaction mixture requires a tremendous amount of capital investment in the chemical manufacturing industry. Heterogeneous catalysts are proved to have better functional groups tolerance; however, catalysts support largely influences the active catalyst sites to affect catalyst efficiency and selectivity. Thus the, choice of catalyst supports plays an almost decisive role in this emerging area of catalysis research. Graphene oxide (GO)/reduced graphene oxide (rGO) support has a potential growth in heterogeneous catalysis owing to their commercial availability, considerably larger surface area, inert towards chemical transformations, and easy surface functionalization to attached metal complexes via covalent and non-covalent aromatic π-conjugates. To take advantage of two independently well-established research areas of noble metal-N-heterocyclic carbenes and GO/rGO support via covalent or non-covalent interactions approach would offer novel heterogeneous complexes with improved catalytic efficiency without sacrificing product selectivity. This unique concept of marrying metal-N-heterocyclic carbenes with GO/rGO support has potential growth in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, however, limited examples are reported in the literature. In this perspective, a comprehensive summary of metal-NHC synthesis on GO/rGO support and synthetic strategies to graft M-NHC onto GO/rGO surface, catalytic efficiency, for the catalytic transformation are critically reviewed. Furthermore, a plausible mechanism for non-covalent grafting methodology is summarized to direct readers to give a better understanding of M-NHC@rGO complexes. This would also allow the designing of engineered catalysts for unexplored catalytic applications.

Abstract
Three-dimensionally propagated imidazolium-containing mesoporous coordination polymer and organic polymer-based platforms were successfully exploited to develop single-site heterogenized Pd-NHC catalysts for oxidative arene/heteroarene C-H functionalization reactions. The catalysts were efficient in directed arene halogenation, and nondirected arene and heteroarene arylation reactions. High catalytic activity, excellent heterogeneity and recyclability were offered by these systems making them promising candidates in the area of heterogeneous C-H functionalization, where efficient catalysts are still scarce.

Abstract
The synergistic catalytic effect in a hetero-trimetallic catalytic monolayer is one of the intriguing topics because the additive effects of the second or third component play an important role in improving the activity. In this paper, a new Schiff-base organometallic nanosheet containing Pd/Fe/Ru immobilized on graphene oxide (GO@H-Pd/Fe/Ru) was prepared and characterized. The catalytic performance of GO@H-Pd/Fe/Ru and synergistic effect were systematically investigated. GO@H-Pd/Fe/Ru was found to be an efficient catalyst with higher turnover frequency (TOF) (26 892 h-1) and stability with recyclability of at least 10 times in the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction. The deactivation mechanism was caused by the aggregation of the active species, loss of the active species, the changes of the organometallic complex, and active sites covered by adsorbed elements during the catalytic process. GO@H-Pd/Fe/Ru was a heterogeneous catalyst, as confirmed by kinetic studies with in situ FT-IR, thermal filtration tests and poisoning tests. The real active center containing Pd, Ru and Fe arranged as Fe(iii)-Ru(iii)-Pd(ii)-Fe(iii) was proposed. Although Ru(iii) and Fe(iii) were shown to be less active or inactive, the addition of Fe and Ru could effectively improve the entire activity by their ''indirect'' function, in which Fe or Ru made Pd more negative and more stable. The ensemble synergistic effect between metals, the ligand and support was described as a process in which the electron was transferred from GOvia ligand to Ru, and then to Pd or from Fe to Pd to make Pd more negative, promoting the oxidation addition with aryl halide. Also, the vicinity of Ru around Pd as the promoter adsorbed aryl boronic acid, which facilitates its synergism to react with the oxidation intermediate to the trans-metallic intermediate.

Abstract
A new generation of N-heterocyclic carbene palladium(II) complexes containing vinyl groups in different positions in the backbone of the N-heterocycle have been developed. The fully characterised monomers were copolymerised with divinylbenzene to fabricate robust polymer supported NHC-PdII complexes and these polymers were applied as heterogeneous catalysts in directed C-H halogenation of arenes with a pyridine-type directing group. The catalysts demonstrated medium-high catalytic activity with up to 90 % conversion and 100 % selectivity in chlorination. They are heterogeneous and recyclable (at least six times) with no significant leaching of palladium in batch mode catalysis. The best catalyst was also applied under continuous flow conditions where it disclosed an exceptional activity (90 % conversion) and 100 % selectivity for the mono-halogenated product for at least six days, with no leaching of palladium, no loss of activity and an ability to maintain the original oxidation state of PdII .

Abstract
A novel magnetic-functionalized-multi-walled carbon nanotubes@chitosan N-heterocyclic carbene-palladium (M-f-MWCNTs@chitosan-NHC-Pd) nanocatalyst is developed in two steps. The first step entails the fabrication of a three-component cross-linking of chitosan utilizing the Debus-Radziszewski imidazole approach. The second step comprised the covalent grafting of prepared cross-linked chitosan to the outer walls of magnetically functionalized MWCNTs (M-f-MWCNTs) followed by introducing PdCl2 to generate the m-f-MWCNTs@cross-linked chitosan with a novel NHC ligand. The repeated units of the amino group in the chitosan polymer chain provide the synthesis of several imidazole units which also increase the number of Pd linkers thus leading to higher catalyst efficiency. The evaluation of catalytic activity was examined in the expeditious synthesis of biaryl compounds using the Suzuki cross-coupling reaction of various aryl halides and aryl boronic acids; ensuing results show the general applicability of nanocatalyst with superior conversion reaction yields, high turnover frequencies (TOFs) and turnover numbers (TON). Meanwhile, nanocatalyst showed admirable potential in reusability tests, being recycled for five runs without losing significant activities under optimum reaction conditions. The successfully synthesis of catalyst and its characterization was confirmed using the Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FT-IR), spectrometer transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photo-electron spectroscopy (XPS) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).

Abstract
Three palladium catalysts supported on graphene oxide (GO) and on its composite with TiO2 (GO-TiO2) were prepared and characterized. The presence of Pd NPs of different diameters (4–89 nm) and size distributions was evidenced by TEM measurements. GO-supported palladium efficiently catalysed the carbonylative coupling of iodobenzenes with aryl boronic acids forming relevant diarylketones at 1 atm CO. The highest activity and recyclability were obtained for Pd/GO-TiO2. The emission behaviour of Pd/GO and Pd/GO-TiO2 catalysts indicated structural changes occurring during the catalytic reaction.

Abstract
Two types of immobilized on the amino-functionalized polystyrene-supported acyclic diaminocarbene palladium complexes (ADC-PdII) are investigated under Sonogashira cross-coupling conditions. Depending on substituents in the diaminocarbene fragment immobilized ADC-PdII, systems are found to have different catalytic activity and stability regarding Pd-leaching. PdII-diaminocarbenes possessing protons at both nitrogen atoms smoothly decompose into Pd0-containing species providing a catalytic “cocktail system” with high activity and ability to reuse within nine runs. Polymer-supported palladium (II) complex bearing NBn–Ccarbene–NH-moiety exhibits greater stability while noticeably lower activity under Sonogashira cross-coupling. Four molecular ADC-PdII complexes are also synthesized and investigated with the aim of confirming proposed base-promoted pathway of ADC-PdII conversion through carbodiimide into an active Pd0 forms.
