Abstract
Recently, the preparation and applications of magnetic nanostructures have attracted increasing attention in nanocatalysis studies, and magnetic nanoparticle (MNP) functionalized catalysts have been applied in important reactions such as Suzuki-Miyaura and Heck couplings. The modified nanocomposites demonstrate significant catalytic efficiency and excellent benefits in the context of catalyst recovery methods. This review discusses the recent modified magnetic nanocomposites in the field of catalytic applications along with the synthetic processes that are usually employed.

Abstract
We report microbial resistance and catalytic activity of high viscosity cationic poly(proline-epichlorohydrin) composite (PRO-EPI) in the aqueous system. The PRO-EPI was prepared by a simple polycondensation, followed by FTIR, 1H NMR, SEM, DLS, viscosity, and DSC/TGA characterization. Several concentrations of the PRO-EPI were tested against Gram-negative (E. coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus) microorganisms. The antimicrobial screening revealed that PRO-EPI was a potent antimicrobial agent with the least inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of 128 µg/mL against Gram-negative microorganisms. The PRO-EPI indicated no inhibitory effect against Gram-positive microorganisms. It was determined that PRO-EPI contains polymeric-quaternary ammonium compounds that inactivate the Gram-negative microorganisms by a dual mode of action and carries domains for electrostatic interaction with the microbial membrane and an intracellular target. To study the removal of toxic industrial wastewater, congo red (CR) was tested using sodium borohydride as a reducing agent. Adsorption was achieved within 20 min at a rate constant of 0.92 ks−1. UV–vis spectra showed that the removal of CR in the reaction solution was due to the breakup of the azo (–N=N–) bonds and adsorption of aromatic fragments. PRO is biodegradable and non-toxic, and PRO-EPI was found to be both antimicrobial and also acts as a catalyst for the removal of congo red dye.

Abstract
Background:
The conception of ‘Green chemistry’ is the much inventive chemistry which
is potent and more environmentally benign. It is notable that many organic reactions take place in
conventional organic solvents, known as volatile organic compounds. Being concerned about the environmental
impact, we report a promoting medium, coconut juice (ACC) for one-pot synthesis of
biscoumarins and pyranocoumarins which is safe, harmless, green and environmentally benign.
Methods and Results:
Substituted biscoumarins have been achieved by the reaction of biscoumarin
and substituted aromatic aldehydes in presence of ACC which acts as a green catalyst cum solvent.
Each reaction showed good to excellent yield in presence of both electron donating as well as electron
withdrawing group on aromatic aldehyde without formation of any by-products. Similarly, pyranocoumarins
have been achieved by the reaction of biscoumarin, substituted aromatic aldehydes, active
methylene nitrile in presence of ACC. All the reactions proceed smoothly and gave higher yields
in case of malononitrile in comparison of ethyl-2-cyanoacetate.
Conclusion:
A simple, eco-friendly and novel procedure was demonstrated for the synthesis of biscoumarins
and pyranocoumarins using natural feedstock coconut juice. The major importance of using
ACC juice is higher yields, no work-up and no column chromatography.

Abstract
Potassium fluoride impregnated on clinoptilolite nanoparticles (KF/CP NPs) was investigated as an efficient solid base catalyst for multicomponent condensation reaction. A broad range of aromatic aldehydes and enolizable compounds were condensed with 2-naphthol or 4-hydroxycumarine. The reaction was carried out under a solvent-free condition to give the corresponding benzoxanthene and pyrano [3,2-c]chromene derivatives in high yields. The low cost and availability of catalyst, novel and green procedure makes this strategy more useful for the preparation of tetrahydrobenzo[a]-xanthene-11-one and pyrano [3,2-c]chromene derivatives.

Abstract
The reactivity of 1,2-benzoxathiin-4(3H)-one 2,2-dioxide was studied in multicomponent type reactions for the first time, namely, in a three-component interaction with active methylene nitriles and aromatic aldehydes in order to construct condensed 2-amino-4H-pyran derivatives. The reaction outcome strongly depended on the nature of an active methylene nitrile and an arenecarbaldehyde. Application of malononitrile resulted in novel 2-amino-4-aryl-4H-pyrano[3,2-c][1,2]benzoxathiine-3-carbonitrile 5,5-dioxides in most cases, whereas the utilization of ethyl cyanoacetate resulted in a complex mixture of products. In the last case, three different products were isolated depending on the arenecarbaldehyde used, namely ethyl 2-amino-4-aryl-4H-pyrano[3,2-c][1,2]benzoxathiine-3-carboxylate 5,5-dioxides, ethyl 2-cyano-3-arylacrylates, and salts of 3,3′-(arylmethylene)bis(4-hydroxybenzo[e][1,2]oxathiine 2,2-dioxides). Attempts to obtain separately ethyl 2-amino-4-aryl-4H-pyrano[3,2-c][1,2]benzoxathiine-3-carboxylate 5,5-dioxides enabled us to propose reaction pathways leading to these products. The salts were obtained for the first time. The preparative method for the synthesis of triethylammonium salts of 3,3′-(arylmethylene)bis(4-hydroxybenzo[e][1,2]oxathiine 2,2-dioxides) was proposed by the direct interaction of 1,2-benzoxathiin-4(3H)-one 2,2-dioxide with arenecarbaldehydes. The application of ammonium acetate as a catalyst allowed us to synthesize 7-aryl-7,14-dihydrobenzo[5,6][1,2]oxathiino[4,3-b]benzo[5,6][1,2]oxathiino[3,4-e]pyridine 6,6,8,8-tetraoxides containing a novel heterocyclic system. These facts, combined with our past investigations, allowed us to assert that the reactivity of enol nucleophiles that include the COCH2SO2X fragment has not been reported previously. Reactivity of 1,2-benzoxathiin-4(3H)-one 2,2-dioxide was for the first time studied in multicomponent type reactions involving active methylene nitriles and aromatic aldehydes.![]()
