Abstract
Two 1D coordination polymers were synthesized by reaction of two ligands, 2-amino-4-picoline (2A4Pic) and quinoline-6-carboxylic acid (Qu-6-COOH) with two metal (II) nitrate (M = Cd and Cu) in the presence of azide as a linker. The synthesized metal complexes [Cd(2A4Pic)2(N3)2]n; (1) and [Cu(Qu-6-COO)(N3)(H2O)]n; (2) were isolated in single crystals and their X-ray structures revealed a 1D polymeric structure. Due to symmetry considerations, the asymmetric formula is half a [Cd(2A4Pic)2(N3)2] unit for 1 and one [Cu(Qu-6-COO)(N3)(H2O)] unit for 2. In complex 1, the Cd(II) is hexa-coordinated with two 2A4Pic molecules and four μ(1,1) azide units. Hence, the CdN6 coordination environment has a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. In 2, the Cu(II) is hexa-coordinated with three different ligands (Qu-6-COO¯, H2O and μ(1,1) N3¯) where all are connectors between the crystallographically related Cu(II) sites. Additionally, complex 2 distorted CuN2O4 octahedral geometry. In both complexes, the polymer arrays are connected by N…H hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking interactions. Based on Hirshfeld analysis, the percentages of N…H contacts are 43.1 and 27.4% for 1 and 2, respectively, while %C...C are 5.6 and 9.3%, respectively. Analysis of Cu-N, Cu-O, and Cd-N bonds using DFT calculations showed predominantly closed-shell coordination interactions with little covalent characters. Additionally, the negatively charged ligand groups were found to compensate the positive charge of the central metal ion to a larger extent than the electrically neutral ligands.

Abstract
A copper(II) dimer with the deprotonated anion of 2-bromo-nicotinic acid (2-BrnicH), namely, tetrakis(μ-2-bromonicotinato-κ2 O:O')bis[aquacopper(-II)](Cu-Cu), [Cu2(H2O)2(C6H3BrNO2)4] or [Cu2(H2O)2(2-Brnic)4], (1), was prepared by the reaction of copper(II) chloride dihydrate and 2-bromo-nicotinic acid in water. The copper(II) ion in 1 has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination environment, achieved by four carboxyl-ate O atoms in the basal plane and the water mol-ecule in the apical position. The pair of symmetry-related copper(II) ions are connected into a centrosymmetric paddle-wheel dinuclear cluster [Cu⋯Cu = 2.6470 (11) Å] via four O,O'-bridging 2-bromo-nicotinate ligands in the syn-syn coordination mode. In the extended structure of 1, the cluster mol-ecules are assembled into an infinite two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network lying parallel to the (001) plane via strong O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, leading to the formation of various hydrogen-bond ring motifs: dimeric R 2 2(8) and R 2 2(16) loops and a tetra-meric R 4 4(16) loop. The Hirshfeld surface analysis was also performed in order to better illustrate the nature and abundance of the inter-molecular contacts in the structure of 1.

Abstract
Four novel coordination polymers (CPs) based on a new 4-(3,5-dicarboxylphenyl) picolinic acid ligands (H3L), [M3(L)2(H2O)6]·4H2O (M3 = Mn3, 1; Co3, 2; Ni3, 3, Co1.01Ni1.99, 4), have been hydrothermally synthesized, and structurally and magnetically characterized. In these isomorphous CPs, octahedrally coordinated metal ions are linked by the single syn-anti carboxylate bridge (μ-COO) to give linear trinuclear motifs. The motifs are connected through the other single syn-anti carboxylate bridge (μ-COO) to give a 2D (4,4) layer, and the layers are interlinked by the L ligands into 3D frameworks. Magnetic measurement indicates that antiferromagnetic interactions between metal ions are mediated through the single syn-anti carboxylate bridges in 1 and 2, while the same carboxylate bridges in 3 transmit ferromagnetic couplings. The bimetallic CP 4 shows interesting complicated magnetic behaviors due to the competition effect of Co(ii) and Ni(ii) ions.

Abstract
By utilizing a pyrazole-3,5-dicarboxylic acid (H3pzdc) and flexible 1,2-di(4-pyridyl)ethylene (dpe) with various copper(ii) salts under the same solvothermal synthetic conditions, six novel coordination polymers, namely, {[Cu2(pzdc)(dpe)2]X}n (X = NO3- (1), ClO4- (2), BF4- (3), SCN- (4)), {[Cu(ii)4Cu(i)4(pzdc)4(dpe)6](H2O)4}2n (5), and {[Cu5(HPO4)2 (pzdc)2(dpe)3](H2O)5}n (6) were obtained. The structural diversity of compounds 1-6 depends on the starting Cu(ii) salts. Compounds 1-4 are isostructural and exhibit a 3D porous cationic pillar-layered coordination framework with lattice monoanions incorporated into the channels of the framework. When using copper(ii) sulfate as a reagent, a neutral mixed-valence Cu(i,ii) 2D + 2D → 2D parallel interpenetrated layer of 5 was obtained. In the case of a phosphate trianion, compound 6 shows a 3D coordination framework which contains μ4-HPO42- linking between Cu(ii) centers. The anion-exchange properties of 1-4 were studied. Interestingly, compounds 1-4 exhibit the irreversible chemisorption of the thiocyanate anion instead of anion exchange without the destruction of their structural framework as confirmed by PXRD, IR, UV-Vis, and AA spectroscopy. Moreover, the anion-induced structural transformation of 1-4 was observed when exchanging with an azide anion. The luminescent properties of 1-6 and exchanged products were also investigated.

Abstract
Two new azide bridged copper(II) coordination polymer compounds, [Cu7(N3)14(C3H10N2)(C4H13N3)]n (I) and [Cu7(N3)14(C3H10N2)(C5H15N3)2]n (II) [where C3H10N2 = 1,2-diaminopropane (1,2-DAP); C4H13N3 = diethylenetriamine (DETA); C5H15N3 = N-2-aminoethyl-1,3-propanediamine (AEDAP)] were prepared by employing a room temperature diffusion technique involving three layers. Single crystal studies reveal that both compounds I and II, have similar connectivity forming Cu7 clusters through end-on (EO) bonding of the azide. The Cu7 clusters are connected through end-to-end (EE) connectivity of the azides forming three-dimensional structures. Magnetic studies confirmed the ferromagnetic interactions within the Cu7 units and revealed the occurrence of concomitant ferro- and antiferro-magnetic interactions between these clusters. As a result I behaves as a weak-ferromagnet with TC = 10 K.
