Magnetic and Photoluminescent Sensors Based on Metal-Organic Frameworks Built up from 2-aminoisonicotinate. Sci Rep 2020; 10:8843. Abstract
In this work, three isostructural metal-organic frameworks based on first row transition metal ions and 2-aminoisonicotinate (2ain) ligands, namely, {[M(μ-2ain)2]·DMF}n [MII = Co (1), Ni (2), Zn (3)], are evaluated for their sensing capacity of various solvents and metal ions by monitoring the modulation of their magnetic and photoluminescence properties. The crystal structure consists of an open diamond-like topological 3D framework that leaves huge voids, which allows crystallizing two-fold interpenetrated architecture that still retains large porosity. Magnetic measurements performed on 1 reveal the occurrence of field-induced spin-glass behaviour characterized by a frequency-independent relaxation. Solvent-exchange experiments lead successfully to the replacement of lattice molecules by DMSO and MeOH, which, on its part, show dominating SIM behaviour with low blocking temperatures but substantially high energy barriers for the reversal of the magnetization. Photoluminescence studied at variable temperature on compound 3 show its capacity to provide bright blue emission under UV excitation, which proceeds through a ligand-centred charge transfer mechanism as confirmed by time-dependent DFT calculations. Turn-off and/or shift of the emission is observed for suspensions of 3 in different solvents and aqueous solutions containing metal ions.

Abstract
Utilizing the oxygen-bridged 5,5'-oxidiisophthalic acid (H4L) linker, one Co(II)-based 3D porous MOF {[Co5(L)2(OH)2(OH2)2(H2O)4]·2DMF·H2O}n (1) with pentanuclear [Co5(μ3-OH)2(μ2-OH2)2]8+ cluster was prepared. The glassy carbon electrode was modified by 1, and the obtained electrode revealed electrocatalytic performance for glucose oxidation. The porous MOF matrix is beneficial for dispersing Ag nanoparticles evenly in the interior cages or channels, so Ag@1 composite composed of both Ag nanoparticles and MOF was further prepared through deposition-reduction method to enhance electrocatalytic activity. The result demonstrates that the glucose oxidation by Ag@1 was greatly increased with low detection limit (1.32 μM) and good selectivity and sensitivity (0.135 μA μM-1), which promote the application of MOF-template porous composites as advanced electrochemical sensor materials. Furthermore, 1 shows an interesting magnetic spin-glass slow dynamics for the existing of peculiar pentanuclear Co(II) clusters.

Abstract
By utilizing the hydrothermal in situ acylation of organic acids with N2H4, three acylhydrazidate-coordinated compounds [Mn(L1)2(H2O)2] (L1=2,3-quinolinedicarboxylhydrazidate; HL1=2,3-dihydropyridazino[4,5-b] quinoline-1,4-dione) 1, [Mn2(ox)(L2)2(H2O)6]·2H2O (L2=benzimidazolate-5,6-dicarboxylhydrazide; HL2=6,7-dihydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-g]phthalazine-5,8-dione; ox=oxalate) 2, and [Cd(HL3)(bpy)] (L3=4,5-di(3'-carboxylphenyl)phthalhydrazidate; H3L3=6,7-dihydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-g]phthalazine-5,8-dione; bpy=2,2'-bipyridine) 3, as well as two acylhydrazide molecules L4 (L4=oxepino[2,3,4-de:7,6,5-d'e']diphthalazine-4,10(5H,9H)-dione) 4 and L5 (L5=4,5-dibromophthalhydrazide; L5=6,7-dibromo-2,3-dihydrophthalazine-1,4-dione) 5 were obtained. X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis reveals that (i) 1 only possesses a mononuclear structure, but it self-assembles into a 2-D supramolecular network via the NhydrazineH⋯Nhydrazine and OwH⋯Ohydroxylimino interactions; (ii) 2 exhibits a dinuclear structure. Ox acts as the linker, while L2 just serves as a terminal ligand; (iii) In 3, L3 acts as a 3-connected node to propagate the 7-coordinated Cd(2+) centers into a 1-D double-chain structure; (iv) 4 is a special acylhydrazide molecule. Two OH groups for the intermediates 3,3'-biphthalhydrazide further lose one water molecule to form 4; (v) 5 is a common monoacylhydrazide molecule. Via the NhydrazineH⋯Ohydrazine, OhydroxyliminoH⋯Oacylamino and the π⋯π interactions, it self-assembles into a 2-D supramolecular network. The photoluminescence analysis reveals that 4 emits light with the maxima at 510nm.

Abstract
Two 3D isostructural metal-organic frameworks with 1D ferrimagnetic chains, formulated as [M3(L)(μ3-OH)2(H2O)4] [H4L = (1,1':4',1″-terphenyl)-2',3,3″,5'-tetracarboxylic acid, where M = Mn for 1 and Co for 2], have been successfully synthesized by employing different center metal ions and a multicarboxylate ligand under identical reaction conditions in this work. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction data of 1 and 2 reveal that the complexes are two 3D isostructural frameworks based on 1D [M3(OH)2]n chains composed of triangular subunits as rod-shaped secondary building units, which are classified as binodal 4,6-connected fry nets with the point symbol (5(10)·6(3)·7(8))(5(4)·6(2)). The magnetic properties revealed that complexes 1 and 2 exhibit ferrimagnetic behavior. Also, the alternating-current susceptibility of 2 displays slow magnetic relaxation, showing interesting magnetic behavior of a single-chain magnet with an effective energy barrier of 32 K.
