Abstract
Various series of lanthanide metal-organic networks denoted Ln-Cy (Ln = La, Ce, Pr, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb), were synthesized under solvothermal conditions using potassium cyamelurate (K3Cy) and lanthanide nitrate salts. All obtained materials were fully characterized, and their crystal structures were solved by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Four types of coordination modes were elucidated for the Ln-Cy series with different Ln3+ coordination geometries. Structural studies were performed to compare the various coordination compounds of the Ln-Cy series. Moreover, the cyamelurate linkers of rich π-conjugated and uncoordinated Lewis basic sites were used as an absorbing chromophore to enhance the luminescence quantum efficiency, the band emission and the luminescence lifetime of the coordinated Ln metal centers. Solid-state UV-visible measurements combined with density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) calculations were performed to further explore luminescent features of the Ln-Cy series and their origins.

Abstract
Industrial pollution and harmful chemicals seriously affect environment and human health. Styrene is a common air toxicant with widespread exposure sources, including smoking, automobile exhaust, and plastic pollutants. Phenylglyoxylic acid (PGA) is a typical biomarker for exposed styrene. Therefore, it is crucial to quickly identify and quantitatively detect PGA. Herein, an ultrastable terbium metal-organic framework (Tb-MOF 1) was developed, and the luminescence film (1/PLA) consisting of polylactic acid (PLA) and 1 was fabricated as a sensor for rapid detection of PGA. The sensor possesses the advantages of efficient detection [limit of detection (LOD) is 1.05 × 10-4 mg/mL] and rapid response speed (less than 10 s) for PGA in urine. Furthermore, this sensor exhibits high stability, outstanding anti-interference ability, and excellent recyclability. Based on this film technology, a paper-based probe was then developed for portable and convenient detection. The probe could easily distinguish different concentrations of PGA under the naked eye toward practical sensing applications. Meanwhile, photoinduced electron transfer was demonstrated to be responsible for the luminescence sensing. Hence, this study indicates that Tb-MOF is a promising material to detect PGA for evaluating the effect of styrene on the body.

Abstract
The product obtained from the reaction of pyridine-2,3-di-carb-oxy-lic acid and hydrated copper(II) chloride in hot aqueous NaOH solution was determined by low temperature X-ray diffraction to be [Cu3(C6H4NO3)4(OH)2(H2O)2] n or [Cu3(μ-OH)2(μ-nicNO)4(H2O)2] n (nicNO is pyridine-3-carboxyl-ate N-oxide), a structure obtained from room temperature data and reported previously. The present determination is improved in quality and treatment of the H atoms. A Hirshfeld surface analysis of the inter-molecular inter-actions is presented.

Abstract
The bromo-substituted aromatic dicarboxylic acid 5-amino-2,4,6-tribromoisophthalic acid (H2ATBIP), in the presence of the N-donor flexible bipyridyl-type ligands 1,3-bis(pyridin-4-yl)propane (bpp) and N,N′-bis(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)oxalamide (4-bpme) and ZnII ions, was used as an O-donor ligand to assemble two novel luminescent metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), namely poly[[(μ-5-amino-2,4,6-tribromoisophthalato-κ2

, (2), using the solution evaporation method. Both (1) and (2) were characterized by FT–IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis (EA), solid-state diffuse-reflectance UV–Vis spectroscopy, and powder and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Complex (1) shows a two-dimensional (2D) corrugated layer simplified as a 2D (4,4) topological network. The supramolecular interactions (π–π stacking, hydrogen bonding and C—Br...Br halogen bonding) play significant roles in the formation of an extended three-dimensional (3D) supramolecular network of (1). Complex (2) crystallizes in the chiral space group P212121 and exhibits a novel 3D homochiral framework, showing a diamond-like topology with Schläfli symbol 66. The homochirality of (2) is further confirmed by the solid-state circular dichroism (CD) spectrum. The second harmonic generation (SHG) property of (2) was also investigated. The hydrogen and C—Br...Br/O halogen bonding further stabilize the framework of (2). The central ZnII ions in (1) and (2) show tetrahedral and octahedral coordination geometries, respectively. The coordinated and uncoordinated water molecules in (2) could be removed selectively upon heating. Most importantly, (1) and (2) show rapid and highly sensitive sensing for a large pool of nitroaromatic explosives (NAEs).

Abstract
The structural features leading to the intense quenching free luminescence exhibited by europium oxalate nanocrystals, poly[[hexaaquatri-μ2-oxalato-dieuropium] 4.34-hydrate], {[Eu2(C2O4)3(H2O)6]·4.34H2O}n, is the focal point of this report. Europium oxalate nanocrystals were synthesized by a simple microwave-assisted co-precipitation method. Powder X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the monoclinic structure of the nanocrystals and the phase purity. The morphology and particle size were examined by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis. Luminescence measurements on a series of samples of La2-xEux(C2O4)3·10H2O, with x varying in the range 0.1 to 2, established the quenching free nature exhibited by the europium oxalate nanocrystals. A single-crystal structure analysis was carried out and the quenching free luminescence is explained on the basis of the crystal structure. A detailed photoluminescence characterization was carried out using excitation and emission studies, decay analysis, and CIE coordinate and colour purity evaluation. The various spectroscopic parameters were evaluated by Judd-Ofelt theoretical analysis and the results are discussed on the basis of the crystal structure analysis.

Abstract
A three-dimensional (3D) dysprosium(III) metal-organic framework with nicotinate N-oxide (NNO-) and squarate (C4O4 2-) mixed bridging ligands, [Dy(NNO)(C4O4)(H2O)] n (1), has been hydrothermally synthesized. The dysprosium(III) ions are linked to each other by the squarate anions to form a unique dysprosium(III) squarate double-layered network; the NNO- anions then bridge such layers to complete the 3D framework. Complex 1 exhibits a two-step relaxation of magnetization under a dc field of 1000 Oe, with effective energy barrier values of 8.5 and 14.3 K, respectively.
