A new Schiff base 2-benzoylpyridine-based copper complex on boehmite nanoparticles as a recoverable nanocatalyst for the homoselective synthesis of 5-substituted tetrazoles. RSC Adv 2024; 14:16269-16277. Abstract
In this study, boehmite nanoparticles (B-NPs) were prepared by a simple process and then their surface was modified by (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (3-APTES). The modified B-NPs (3-APTES@B-NPs) were functionalized by 2-benzoylpyridine Schiff-base ligand toward the immobilization of the Schiff-base 2-benzoylpyridine ligand on the 3-APTES@B-NPs's surface (2BP-Schiff-base@B-NPs). Finally, copper ions were coordinated with the supported Schiff-base ligand on B-NPs toward the formation of the final catalyst (Cu-2BP-Schiff-base@B-NPs). The prepared Cu-2BP-Schiff-base@B-NPs were characterized using FT-IR spectroscopy, BET analysis, XRD, SEM, AAS, TGA, EDX and elemental mapping. Further, Cu-2BP-Schiff-base@B-NPs were applied as a homoselective and recyclable catalyst for the synthesis of a diverse range of 5-substituted tetrazoles in PEG-400 as a green solvent. The main benefits of this protocol are high homoselectivity attributes, short reaction times, high product yields and TOF values, and further addition to the catalyst ability to be recycled at least four times without significantly losing catalytic efficiency.

Abstract
Synthesis and catalytic application of polymeric-based nanocomposites are important subjects among researchers due to their high lipophilicity as well as high chemical and mechanical stability. In the present work, a novel nanocomposite material involving ionic liquid and high-density polyethylene supported tungstate (PE/IL-WO4 =) is synthesized, characterized and its catalytic application is investigated. The coacervation method was used to incorporate 1-methyl-3-octylimidazolium bromide ([MOIm] [Br]) ionic liquid in high-density polyethylene, resulting in a PE/IL composite. Subsequently, tungstate was anchored on PE/IL to give PE/IL-WO4 = catalyst. The PXRD, FT-IR, EDX, TGA, and SEM analyses were used to characterize the PE/IL-WO4 = composite. This material demonstrated high catalytic efficiency in the synthesis of bioactive tetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthen-11-ones under green conditions. The recoverability and leching tests were performed to investigate the stability and durability of the designed PE/IL-WO4 = catalyst under applied conditions.

Abstract
Using boehmite as an available and low-cost natural compound, a bi-functional catalytic composite is prepared through vinyl-functionalization of boehmite, followed by polymerization with the as-prepared bis-vinylimidazolium bromide ionic liquid and supporting of phosphotungstic acid. The catalyst was characterized via ICP, XRD, TGA, FTIR, SEM/EDS and elemental mapping analysis and applied for promoting alcohol oxidation reaction and one-pot tandem alcohol oxidation/Knoevenagel condensation reaction in aqueous media under mild reaction condition. The results indicated high catalytic activity of the catalyst for both reactions. This protocol showed high generality and aliphatic, aromatic and heterocyclic alcohols could be applied as substrates to furnish the corresponding products in high to excellent yields. Furthermore, hot filtration test confirmed true heterogeneous nature of the catalysis. The catalyst could also be recovered readily and reused for at least five runs of the reaction with low loss of the activity and phosphotungstic acid leaching upon each run.

Abstract
Cyclotriphosphazen-hexa imine ligand was prepared through successive reactions of phosphonitrilchloride trimer with 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde and (3-aminopropyl) triethoxy silane. The as-prepared ligand was then covalently grafted on boehmite to furnish an efficient support for the immobilization of Pd nanoparticles and synthesis of a novel heterogeneous catalyst for hydrogenation of nitro arenes. The catalytic tests revealed that the catalyst had excellent catalytic activity for hydrogenation of various nitro arenes with different steric and electronic features under mild reaction condition in aqueous media. Noteworthy, the catalyst was highly selective and in the substrates with ketone or aldehyde functionalities, reduction of nitro group was only observed. The catalyst was also recyclable and only slight loss of activity was detected after each recycling run. Hot filtration test also approved true heterogeneous nature of catalysis.

Abstract
Tetrazoles are indispensable nitrogen containing heterocyclic scaffolds that offer a broad spectrum of applications in various domains such as medicinal chemistry, high energy material science, biochemistry, pharmacology etc. Owing to their useful applications, a wide range of catalysts have been explored for green synthesis of tetrazole derivatives. In recent times, nanomaterials have been emerged as extremely efficient catalysts for different organic transformations because of their high surface area-to-volume ratio, easy surface modification, simple fabrications, easy recovery and reusability. In this article, we have presented an overview of utilization of various nano-catalysts, nanocomposites and other solid-supported nanomaterials as an efficient environmental benign catalytic system for green synthesis of tetrazoles and derivatives. This review will provide an exclusive emphasis on boehmite, magnetic, copper, carbon, MCM-41, and composite based nanomaterials that have been developed since the year 2010 for the synthesis of tetrazole derivatives. In addition, we have briefly discussed the fabrication, functionalization and characterization of some novel nanomaterials and their advantages in the synthesis of tetrazole and its derivatives along with the reaction mechanism that involves synthesis of tetrazole derivatives via nanomaterials catalysed reactions.

Abstract
To achieve green chemistry goals and also to reduce the cost of catalysts as well as to avoid producing toxic wastes and show the importance of separation and recycling of catalysts from the reaction medium, in this work, we describe the preparation and characterization of magnetic acidic boehmite nanoparticles as a heterogeneous catalyst, which is called Fe3O4@BNPs@SiO2–SO3H. This catalyst works efficiently in the selective oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides or sulfones in the presence of H2O2 as a green oxidant. It can easily be separated from the reaction medium by using an external magnet and it was recycled 6 times without loss of magnetic catalytic properties. To achieve the green chemistry goals and importance of separation and recycling of catalyst from the reaction medium, Fe3O4@BNPs@SiO2–SO3H is introduced as a novel heterogeneous nanocatalyst for the oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides or sulfones.![]()
