Abstract
The synthesis of a Schiff base-based chemosensor, denoted as H6L, was accomplished through the condensation reaction of Isophthalohydrazide and 2,6-dihydroxybenzaldehyde in an ethanol solvent. The resulting compound was further characterized using 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, as well as high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS). Extensive research has been conducted on several facets of metal sensing phenomena, revealing that the Schiff base H6L demonstrates discerning and expeditious fluorescence sensing characteristics specifically towards Al (III) in acetonitrile. The purported method detects Al (III) can be ascribed to the suppression of photo-induced electron transfer (PET) and the enhanced chelation-induced fluorescence (CHEF). The stoichiometry of metal-ligand complexes (2:1) was determined using Job's plots titrations, HRMS and subsequently confirmed using NMR titration studies. The H6L sensors demonstrated remarkable fluorescence sensing capabilities in acetonitrile, with a low detection limit (LOD) of 0.44 μM. This LOD is suitably low for the detection of Al3+, which is commonly found in many environmental and biological systems. Fluorescence lifetime measurement provides additional evidence of complexation of H6L with Al (III). The reversibility of the sensor was demonstrated through the introduction of pyrophosphate (PPi), which forms a complex with aluminium ions, thereby releasing the chemo sensor for subsequent utilization. The findings suggest that H6L has the potential to serve as a viable probe for the detection and identification of Al3+ ions.

Abstract
In the present study, we have synthesized an aminobenzoic acid containing Schiff base (compound 1) and its structure was confirmed through single crystal X-ray study. Importantly, the compound 1 crystallizes in the zwitterionic form, with an anionic carboxylate group (-COO-) and a cationic iminium group (-C = NH+-). The compound 1 is highly soluble in water due to its zwitterionic feature in the solid state. Interestingly, compound 1 acts as a ratiometric fluorescent probe for the selective detection of Al3+ ion in aqueous solution without organic cosolvent. It can also detect Al3+ ion by visual colour change to bluish-green fluorescence under 365 nm UV light. The association constant between compound 1 with Al3+ ion was estimated to be 1.67 × 104 M-1. The lowest detection limit for Al3+ ion was calculated to be 7.05 × 10-8 M in water. Compound 1 in combination with Al3+ ion demonstrated fluorescent imaging potential of the nucleus of in RAW 264.7 murine macrophage cell line. In addition, the sensing model is developed as paper based sensor ''Test Kit' 'for its practical applicability.

Abstract
Fluorescent and colorimetric chemosensors for selective detection of various biologically important analytes have been widely applied in different areas such as biology, physiology, pharmacology, and environmental sciences. The research area based on fluorescent chemosensors has been in existence for about 150 years with the development of large number of fluorescent chemosensors for selective detection of cations as metal ions, anions, reactive species, neutral molecules and different gases etc. Despite the progress made in this field, several problems and challenges still exist. The most important part of sensing is limit of detection (LOD) which is the lowest concentration that can be measured (detected) with statistical significance by means of a given analytical procedure. Although there are so many reports available for detection of millimolar to micromolar range but the development of chemosensors for the detection of analytes in nanomolar range is still a challenging task. Therefore, in our current review we have focused the history and a general overview of the development in the research of fluorescent sensors for selective detection of various analytes at nanomolar level only. The basic principles involved in the design of chemosensors for specific analytes, binding mode, photophysical properties and various directions are also covered here. Summary of physiochemical properties, mechanistic view and type of different chemosensors has been demonstrated concisely in the tabular forms.

Abstract
Metal cations such as Zn2+, Al3+, Hg2+, Cd2+, Sn2+, Fe2+, Fe3+ and Cu2+ play important roles in biology, medicine, and the environment. However, when these are not maintained in proper concentration, they can be lethal to life. Therefore, selective sensing of metal cations is of great importance in understanding various metabolic processes, disease diagnosis, checking the purity of environmental samples, and detecting toxic analytes. Schiff base probes have been largely used in designing fluorescent sensors for sensing metal ions because of their easy processing, availability, fast response time, and low detection limit. Herein, an in-depth report on metal ions recognition by some Schiff base fluorescent sensors, their sensing mechanism, their practical applicability in cell imaging, building logic gates, and analysis of real-life samples has been presented. The metal ions having biological, industrial, and environmental significance are targeted. The compiled information is expected to prove beneficial in designing and synthesis of the related Schiff base fluorescent sensors.

Abstract
A novel series of urea Schiff base derivatives were synthesized via the condensation of o-phenylenediamine, naphthyl isocyanate and appropriate aryl aldehyde. The results of the in vitro cytotoxic activities of compounds 5a–h against cancer cells lines PC3, SKOV-3 and HeLa, revealed that almost all compounds exhibited good to moderate activities Compound 5g owing bromine atom at p-position displayed higher activity compared to homolog 5b possessing chlorine atom due to adequate diameter of bromine which is more favourable than chlorine for the inhibition activity. In addition, compound 5h is the best candidate of this series exhibiting excellent activity for three cancer cells lines. Compound 5h demonstrated also an excellent activity with IC50 value of 0.6±0.3μg/mL for prostate cancer cell line PC3 and it is considered more effective than the standard drug doxorubicin Dox (IC50 = 2.6±0.03μg/mL). The most active compound 5h displayed the best activity against ovarian cancer cell line SKOV3 with IC50 = 1.8±0.2μg/mL. This results are higher than clinically used drug Dox (IC50. 2.2±0.02μg/mL). The results of screening activities cytotoxic effect toward cervix cancer cell line HeLa, affirm that compound 5h manifest an activity with IC50 value of 2.2±0.4μg/mL comparable to Dox (IC50. 1.9±0.04μg/mL). In the current study, in vivo acute oral toxicity assessment of urea Schiff base hybrid compounds 5a – h indicated that there was no mortality on treated female mice during 14 days assessment test compared with the vehicle-treated group confirming the safety with LD50 greater than 2000 mg/kg. In the actual study, the results affirmed that compounds 5a–h manifested in vivo no toxicity to saint cells, the compounds 5b, 5g and 5h presented higher anticancer activities against three cancer cells which authorizes promoters to use them as candidate anticancer agents.

Abstract
Herein, a novel Schiff base fluorescent probe NIQ based on naphthalimide and iso-quinoline units has been readily prepared for the selective detection of Al3+ ions. The obviously visible color changes and prominent fluorescence enhancement were observed upon the addition of Al3+ to NIQ, which could be attributed to the complexation of NIQ with Al3+ and thus leading to the inhibition of photo-induced electron transfer (PET) and the chelation-enhanced fluorescence (CHEF) progress. The limit of detection (LOD) was 52 nM that was far below the standard recommended by the WHO. Binding ratio (1:1) of NIQ with Al3+ ions was supported by Job's plot. The binding constant of NIQ for Al3+ were calculated to be 3.27 × 105 M-1 on the basis of benesi-Hildebrand plot. The plausible binding mechanism for NIQ towards Al3+ ions was evidenced by the density functional theory (DFT) and 1H NMR titration experiment. Furthermore, this "turn-on" probe NIQ has been successfully applied as a biomarker for imaging the Al3+ ions in living cells.

Abstract
A new chemosensor (NANH) based on naphthyl moiety was synthesized with good selectivity and sensitivity towards Al3+ ions via the inhibition by operating through dual mechanisms like photo-induced electron transfer (PET) and excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT). The synthesized NANH was validated by various techniques such as 1H, 13C NMR and mass spectrum. While prominent fluorescent enhancement was observed from the NANH upon binding with Al3+ ions, however, other metal ions have not responded in the emission spectrum. Detection limit and association constant of NANH for Al3+ were calculated as 1.2 × 10-7 M and 4.09 × 104 M-1 by using fluorescence titration method. Binding ratio (1:1) of NANH with Al3+ ions were proved by Job's plot and DFT studies. Furthermore, aluminium in variety of water samples was determined, and NANH could be used for biosensing of Al3+ in living cells.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Accounting for mortality nearly one in four of human and second highest leading cause of death worldwide. Every year, about 10 million new cancers are diagnosed and causing major health issues in both developing and developed countries. METHODS A series of new dihydrazones were synthesized and screened for in vitro anticancer activity against three different MDA-MB-231, A546 and MCF7 cell lines and validated by DNA binding and molecular docking approaches. RESULT In the present investigations, synthesized compounds 21, 22, 23 and 24 exhibited potent anticancer activity against tested cancer cell lines and DNA binding study using methyl green comparing to Doxorubicin and ethidium bromide as a positive control respectively. CONCLUSION The Structure Activity Relationship (SAR) showed that the electron withdrawing groups (-Cl, -NO2, - F, and -Br) favored the DNA binding studies and anticancer activity whereas, electron donating groups (-OH and - OCH3) showed moderate activity. In the molecular docking study, binding interactions of the most active compounds 21, 22, 23 and 24 stacked with A-T rich regions of the DNA minor groove by surface binding interactions were confirmed. Further, the tuning of active analogs for targeted therapy was warranted.

A simple S-S (disulfide)-bridged dimeric Schiff base probe, L, has been designed, synthesized, and successfully characterized for the specific recognition of Al3+ and Fe2+ ions as fluorometric and colorimetric "turn-on" responses in a dimethylformamide (DMF)-H2O solvent mixture, respectively. The probe L and each metal ion bind through a 1:1 complex stoichiometry, and the plausible sensing mechanism is proposed based on the inhibition of the photoinduced electron transfer process (PET). The reversible chemosensor L showed high sensitivity toward Al3+ and Fe2+ ions, which was analyzed by fluorescence and UV-vis spectroscopy techniques up to nanomolar detection limits, 38.26 × 10-9 and 17.54 × 10-9 M, respectively. These experimental details were advocated by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The practical utility of the chemosensor L was further demonstrated in electrochemical sensing, in vitro antimicrobial activity, molecular logic gate function, and quantification of the trace amount of Al3+ and Fe2+ ions in real water samples.

Abstract
A hydrazone-based N'1,N'3-bis((E)-4-(diethylamino)-2 -hydroxybenzylidene)isophthalohydrazide (NDHIPH), has been synthesized, characterized, and assessed for its highly selective and sensitive (limit of detection, 2.53 nM) response toward Al(III) via fluorescence enhancement in 95% aqueous medium. All experimental results of analytical studies are in good consonance with the theoretical studies performed. Further, this NDHIPH-Al(III) ensemble is used for selective and sensitive (12.15 nM) detection of explosive picric acid (PA) via fluorescence quenching. This reversible behavior of NDHIPH toward Al(III) and PA is used for the creation of a molecular logic gate.

Abstract
A colorimetric and fluorescent chemosensor (L) for Al(III) was synthesized and fully characterized. L could be both used as a colorimetric and fluorescent chemosensor for the detection of Al(3+) ions with low detection limit (8.87×10(-7) M) in CH3CN-H2O (1:1, v/v) solution. The binding ratio of L-Al(3+) was determined from the Job plot (absorption and fluorescence spectra) and MALDI-TOF MS data to be 1:1. The binding constant (Ka) of Al(3+) binding to L was calculated to be 4.8×10(5) M(-1) from a Benesi-Hildebrand plot. Moreover, the binding site of L with Al(3+) was determined by (1)H NMR titration experiment.

Abstract
Two simply and highly selective aluminium ion fluorescent probes based on 4-aminoantipyrine derivate have been successfully synthesized and systemically characterized, The investigation of absorption and emission spectra revealed that the compounds exhibited highly selective fluorescence behaviours toward Al(3+) in aqueous media and showed differential fluorescent emission peaks corresponding to blue and green. which resulted from different fluorophores, and the fluorescence process is attributed to the Photoinduced Electron Transfer (PET) mechanism, In addition, the association constants between sensors L1 and L2 with aluminum ion are 1.58 × 10(6) M(-1) and 8.72 × 10(6) M(-1), respectively, which were obtained by fluorescent titration experiments. Moreover, the binding site of sensors with Al(3+) were determined by (1)HNMR titration experiments.
