Abstract
Poor stability has been one of the major difficulties affecting to the practical application of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). In this work, we obtained two 3D structurally isomeric Cd-MOFs, {[Cd6(NH2Me2)2(PTB)4(HCOO)2(H2O)]·(DMF)13·(H2O)4} n (FJU-35) and {[Cd6(NH2Me2)2(PTB)4(HCOO)2]·(DMF)6·(H2O)2} n (FJU-36) (H3PTB = pyridine-2,4,6-tribenzoic acid) containing different CdII-O-CdII chains by varying the addition agents. FJU-35 with coordinated solvent and formate in asymmetric μ3-η1:η2 coordination mode within the CdII-O-CdII chains is vulnerable to external attacks and is apt to collapse after activation, while FJU-36 with no coordinated solvent in the CdII-O-CdII chains but fully protected by the carboxylates from the ligands and the symmetric formate in the coordination mode μ3-η2:η2 is stable, and its activated sample shows efficient separation of C2H2/CH4 and C2H2/CO2 mixtures. Conversely, FJU-35 with more vulnerability is more sensitive to the detection of nitrobenzene than FJU-36.

Abstract
By utilizing the hydrothermal in situ acylation of organic acids with N2H4, three acylhydrazidate-coordinated compounds [Mn(L1)2(H2O)2] (L1=2,3-quinolinedicarboxylhydrazidate; HL1=2,3-dihydropyridazino[4,5-b] quinoline-1,4-dione) 1, [Mn2(ox)(L2)2(H2O)6]·2H2O (L2=benzimidazolate-5,6-dicarboxylhydrazide; HL2=6,7-dihydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-g]phthalazine-5,8-dione; ox=oxalate) 2, and [Cd(HL3)(bpy)] (L3=4,5-di(3'-carboxylphenyl)phthalhydrazidate; H3L3=6,7-dihydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-g]phthalazine-5,8-dione; bpy=2,2'-bipyridine) 3, as well as two acylhydrazide molecules L4 (L4=oxepino[2,3,4-de:7,6,5-d'e']diphthalazine-4,10(5H,9H)-dione) 4 and L5 (L5=4,5-dibromophthalhydrazide; L5=6,7-dibromo-2,3-dihydrophthalazine-1,4-dione) 5 were obtained. X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis reveals that (i) 1 only possesses a mononuclear structure, but it self-assembles into a 2-D supramolecular network via the NhydrazineH⋯Nhydrazine and OwH⋯Ohydroxylimino interactions; (ii) 2 exhibits a dinuclear structure. Ox acts as the linker, while L2 just serves as a terminal ligand; (iii) In 3, L3 acts as a 3-connected node to propagate the 7-coordinated Cd(2+) centers into a 1-D double-chain structure; (iv) 4 is a special acylhydrazide molecule. Two OH groups for the intermediates 3,3'-biphthalhydrazide further lose one water molecule to form 4; (v) 5 is a common monoacylhydrazide molecule. Via the NhydrazineH⋯Ohydrazine, OhydroxyliminoH⋯Oacylamino and the π⋯π interactions, it self-assembles into a 2-D supramolecular network. The photoluminescence analysis reveals that 4 emits light with the maxima at 510nm.

Abstract
Two new metal-organic frameworks (1-2) were ionothermally obtained by the reaction of a biphenyltetracarboxylic sodium (Na4BPTC) ligand and M(OOCCH3)2 (M = Co(1) and Mn(2)). Crystal structure analysis reveals that 1 is a Co3Na6 unit-based three dimensional heterometallic MOF, while 2 exhibits a {Mn(COO)n} chain-based three-dimensional framework. Furthermore, the magnetic measurement shows that both of them have anti-ferromagnetic properties. A combination of Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Quantum Monte Carlo (QMC) simulation uncovers that in 2 the coupling parameters between two adjacent Mn(II) ions are J1 = -2.0 cm(-1) and J2 = -1.6 cm(-1), and the magnetism mainly originates from the propagation of Mn(II) ions by the super-exchange of carboxylates. Interestingly, the superexchange modes of J1 and J2 are different. Two spin nets of -/+/- dominate in the coupling for J1, while for J2 there are two spin nets of -/+/- and one spin net of +/-/+.
