Abstract
In this study, tungstic acid immobilized on polycalix[4]resorcinarene, PC4RA@SiPr-OWO3H, as a mesoporous acidic solid catalyst was synthesized and investigated for its catalytic activity. Polycalix[4]resorcinarene was prepared via a reaction between formaldehyde and calix[4]resorcinarene, and then the resulting polycalix[4]resorcinarene was modified using (3-chloropropyl)trimethoxysilane (CPTMS) to obtain polycalix[4]resorcinarene@(CH2)3Cl that was finally functionalized with tungstic acid. The designed acidic catalyst was characterized by various methods including FT-IR spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), elemental mapping analysis and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The catalyst efficiency was evaluated via the preparation of 4H-pyran derivatives using dimethyl/diethyl acetylenedicarboxylate, malononitrile, and beta-carbonyl compounds, confirmed by FT-IR spectroscopy and 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The synthetic catalyst was introduced as a suitable catalyst with high recycling power in 4H-pyran synthesis.

Recent Advances in Multicomponent Reactions Catalysed under Operationally Heterogeneous Conditions. Catalysts 2022. Abstract
Multicomponent reactions (MCRs) have been gaining significance and attention over the past decade because of their ability to furnish complex products by using readily available and simple starting materials while simultaneously eliminating the need to separate and purify any intermediates. More so, most of these products have been found to exhibit diverse biological activities. Another paradigm shift which has occurred contemporarily is the switch to heterogeneous catalysis, which results in additional benefits such as the reduction of waste and an increase in the safety of the process. More importantly, it allows the user to recover and reuse the catalyst for multiple runs. In summary, both methodologies adhere to the principles of green chemistry, a philosophy which needs to become overarchingly enshrined. The plethora of reactions and catalysts which have been developed gives hope that chemists are slowly changing their ideology. As a result, this review attempts to discuss multicomponent reactions catalysed by operationally heterogeneous catalysts in the past 10 years. In this review, a further distinction is made between the MCRs which lead to the formation of heterocycles and those which do not.

Abstract
Cobalt tetra-2,3-pyridiniumporphyrazinato with sulfonic acid tag [Co(TPPASO3H)]Cl was produced and catalyzed the synthesis of ortho-aminocarbonitriles, cyclohexa-1,3-dienamines and 2-amino-3-cyanopyridines. The synthesis of 2-amino-3-cyanopyridines by using [Co(TPPASO3H)]Cl proceeded via a cooperative vinylogous anomeric based oxidation mechanism. [Co(TPPASO3H)]Cl can be recycled and reused six times with a marginal decreasing of its catalytic activity. ortho-Aminocarbonitriles, cyclohexa-1,3-dienamines and 2-amino-3-cyanopyridines were synthesized by [Co(TPPASO3H)]Cl as an efficient pyridiniumporphyrazinato based catalyst.![]()

Abstract
In this study, a multicomponent reaction involving carbohydrates, β-dicarbonyl compounds, and malononitrile was disclosed to synthesize a new class of polyhydroxy compounds incorporating pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine, pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine and chromene heterocycles under mild conditions. For the synthesis of this class of compounds, glucose, galactose, arabinose, maltose, and lactose were used as aldehyde component in the reaction with barbituric acid and malononitrile to produce pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives. By use of 1,3-cyclohexanedione instead of barbituric acid, chromene derivatives incorporating carbohydrate moieties were obtained. Also, the four-component condensation reaction between d-glucosamine, aldehyde, malononitrile, and barbituric acid was efficiently provided polyhydroxy-substituted pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives. This new combinatorial approach gave a range of carbohydrate-derived heterocycles in good to excellent yields with high potential biological applications. The antioxidant activities were evaluated using 2,2'-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) antioxidant measuring system, and the data were expressed as Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity. All of these compounds display significant antioxidant activity. The maximum and minimum antioxidant activities were observed for 4j and 6b, respectively. Our results indicated encouraging perspectives for the improvement and usage of this type of synthetic compounds, indicating significant levels of antioxidant activity.
