Abstract
This study presents the indium-mediated three-component radical Reformatsky-type allylation of N-tert-butanesulfinyl iminoester with 1,3-butadiene. This novel approach offers a rapid synthesis pathway to valuable homoallylic noncanonical amino acids, demonstrated with over 30 examples showing nice regio- and diastereoselectivity. Mechanism studies revealed that allylindium complexes served as key intermediates, formed through a single-electron reduction of allylic radicals by Indium species.

Abstract
A diastereoselective allylation of N-tert-butane sulfinyl α-iminoesters using allylboronic acids is developed to obtain optically active non-proteinogenic α-amino acid precursors in good yields and diastereoselectivities. Gram-scale synthesis, broad tolerance of functional groups, excellent stereodivergence, post-synthetic modifications, and easy removal of the chiral auxiliary are some of the key highlights. The protocol is applicable to various amino acids and short peptides, resulting in the incorporation of these precursors at the N-terminal position. A diastereoselective allylation of N-tert-butane sulfinyl α-iminoesters using allylboronic acids is developed to obtain optically active non-proteinogenic α-amino acid precursors in good yield and diastereoselectivities.![]()

Abstract
The diastereoselective addition of allyl zinc and allylindium derivatives to α-trifluoromethyl N-tert-butanesulfinyl hemiaminals, bench stable precursors of aryl and alkyl trifluoromethyl ketimines, allows the synthesis of homoallylic amines containing a tetrasubstituted carbon stereocentre bearing a trifluoromethyl group with good diastereoselectivities (up to dr > 99 : 1). This approach was also suitable for accessing chiral homoallylic amines bearing two contiguous stereocenters. The synthetic usefulness of N-tert-butanesulfinyl homoallylamines was illustrated by preparing various trifluoromethylated nitrogen containing bifunctional synthons (aminoesters, aminoalcohols) and small azaheterocycles (azetidines, pyrrolidines).
