The WO₃·H₂O rod with diameter and length of 20 and 100 nm was controlled by citric acid and DWCNTs. When the samples were heated in air and carbonized in nitrogen, WC nanorods with high specific surface area of 32.2 m² g⁻¹ were obtained.
