Abstract
Designing MOF-based materials with desired electrochemical activity and high electron conductivity may yield a novel electrochemical sensor that effectively detects various organic pollutants and conducts health monitoring. This study developed a facile and versatile electrochemical sensor for simultaneously monitoring the environmental pollutants hydroquinone (HQ) and catechol (CT). The electrodes are fabricated by modifying a GCE with a Cu-functionalized MOF (UiO-bpydc-Cu) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). The Cu-functionalized MOF effectively improved the electronic conductivity by metalating the 2,2'-bipyridyl-derived UiO-bpydc with Cu2+ ions. Moreover, due to the synergic effect, the composite electrode exhibits a significant voltammetric response to HQ's and CT's electro-redox. A rapid and sensitive method of synchronously detecting HQ and CT has been established by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The experiments reveal that the linear response ranges were 0.5-565 μM and 1-1350 μM for HQ and CT, respectively, with low detection limits of 0.361 μM and 0.245 μM. The proposed UiO-bpydc-Cu/MWCNTs/GCE electrochemical sensor shows high sensitivity, good anti-interference, reproducibility, and stability. It can also be applied for detecting HQ and CT in actual samples.

Abstract
Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been proposed as diagnostic biomarkers for the screening of non-small cell lung cancer and monitoring disease progression. Accordingly, new, rapid, and cost-effective lncRNA biosensors that can be used clinically are urgently needed. Herein, a novel effective and ultrasensitive electrochemical biosensor was developed based on a gold nanocage coupled with an amidated multi-walled carbon nanotube (Au NCs/MWCNT-NH2)-decorated screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE). Because of its large surface area, superior conductivity, and excellent biocompatibility, this SPCE Au NCs/MWCNT-NH2 lncRNA biosensor showed a wide linear range (10–7–10–14 M) and low limit of detection limit (42.8 fM) coupled with satisfactory selectivity and stability. Compared to traditional RT-PCR, the proposed method exhibits acceptable stability, good selectivity, is simpler to operate, has faster detection, and uses less costly raw materials. In summary, this biosensor may be a powerful tool for detecting lncRNAs for efficient clinical prognosis and cancer diagnosis.

Abstract
Continuous and rapid synthesis of UiO-67 under mild conditions has been achieved by electrochemical methods for the first time. In the reaction system, a zirconium sheet was utilized as electrodes and a metal source for the assembly of UiO-67. High-crystalline UiO-67 with a regular tetrahedral morphology of around 1 μm was obtained within 1.5 h under the optimized solvent composition, voltage, and temperature conditions. This electrochemical synthetic method of UiO-67 in our work overcomes the shortcomings of high temperature and pressure of a traditional solvothermal method, which proposes new ideas for the large-scale and rapid synthesis of UiO-67. The UiO-67 synthesized by an electrochemical method was prepared as a UiO-67-carbon paste electrode (CPE), which exhibited a linear response to hydroquinone (HQ) in the range of 5-300 μM with a detection limit of 3.6 × 10-9 M (S/N = 3), for the electrochemical detection of HQ. It was confirmed that UiO-67-CPE possessed excellent reusability and antiinterference ability for the detection of HQ, and its detection ability even did not change after standing for 3 months. We further tried to apply UiO-67-CPE to the practical determination of HQ in tap water and river water samples, and the results proved that the recovery rate is 97.9-104.7% in real samples.

Abstract
This work describes the synthesis of a nanocomposite consisting of Ag2O, silver nanoparticles and N,S-doped carbon quantum dots (Ag2O/Ag@NS-CQD). The NS-CQD were prepared by hydrothermal treatment of p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid. They act as both the reducing and stabilizing agent for synthesis of Ag2O/Ag@NS-CQD. The composite was characterized by UV-vis spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was modified by coating it with Ag2O/Ag@NS-CQD. It exhibits excellent amperometric response to catechol, typically at a low working potential of around 0.25 V. Under the best experimental conditions, the sensor has a wide linear response (0.2 to 180 μM) and a low detection limit (13 nM; at S/N = 3). The method was applied to analysis of spiked water samples and gave satisfactory results. Graphical abstract Schematic representation of the preparation of the Ag/Ag2O@N,S-doped carbon quantum dots composite using p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid and silver nitrate as the starting materials. The corresponding modified glassy carbon electrode exhibits the excellent amperometric sensing performance toward catechol at pH 7.0 with low detection limit and good selectivity.

Abstract
An extremely sensitive enzyme sensor for detection of 17β-estradiol based on electropolymerized L-lysine molecules on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with critic acid@graphene (CA-GR) and cross-linked with laccase enzyme has been developed in this work. As the laccase immobilization, glutaraldehyde was chosen as cross-linker through the groups reactions. The novel enzyme sensor could recognize and determinate 17β-estradiol effectively. The morphology of the enzyme modified electrode was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and electron microscopy (SEM). The amino interaction between cross-linker and enzyme was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Under the optimal experimental conditions, good linear relationships were achieved in the range of 4 × 10-13 - 5.7 × 10-11 M and a limit of detection as low as 1.3 × 10-13 M. Moreover, the enzyme sensor exhibited good reproducibility, stability and high selectivity to 17β-estradiol. Excellent performance was showed in the human urine samples analysis, thus confirming great prospect for further application in clinic diagnosis and biological research.

Abstract
The simple, rapid, sensitive, and specific detection of cancer cells plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis and prognosis of cancer. We developed a novel DNA-labeled sandwich electrochemical biosensor based on a glassy carbon electrode modified with 3D graphene and a hybrid of Au nanocages (Au NCs)/amino-functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT-NH2) for label-free and selective detection of MCF-7 breast cancer cells via differential pulse voltammetry. The layer-by-layer assembly and cell-detection performance of the Au NCs/MWCNTs-NH2-based biosensor were investigated using scanning electron microscopy and electrochemical methods including cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Owing to the advantages of DNA-labeled antibodies and a nanomaterial-based signal amplification strategy, the fabricated cytosensor exhibited high specificity and sensitivity when detecting MCF-7 cells in the range of 1.0 × 102 to 1.0 × 106 cells mL-1 with a low detection limit of 80 cells mL-1 (3σ/slope). Furthermore, the biosensor exhibited high selectivity when detecting MCF-7 cells and showed considerable potential for practical applications. The proposed DNA-labeled sandwich electrochemical biosensor provides a stable, sensitive approach to detecting cancer cells and is promising in terms of potential applications to cancer diagnosis.

Abstract
In this work, a novel and sensitive sandwich-type electrochemical aptasensor has been developed for thrombin detection based on platinum nanoparticles (Pt NPs) decorated carbon nanocages (CNCs) as signal tags. The morphological and compositional of the Pt NPs/CNCs were examined using transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Raman spectroscopy. The results showed that the Pt NPs with about 3-5nm in diameter were well dispersed on the surface of CNCs. The thiolated aptamer was firstly immobilized on the gold electrode to capture the thrombin molecules, and then aptamer functionalized Pt NPs/CNCs nanocomposites were used to fabricate a sandwich sensing platform. Then, the high-content Pt NPs on carbon nanocages acting as hydrogen peroxide-mimicking enzyme catalyzed the reduction of H2O2, resulting in significant electrochemical signal amplification. Differential pulse voltammetry is employed to detect thrombin with different concentrations. Under optimized conditions, the approach provided a good linear response range from 0.05 pM to 20nM with a low detection limit of 10fM. This Pt NPs/CNCs-based aptasensor shows good precision, acceptable stability and reproducibility, which provided a promising strategy for electrochemical aptamer-based detection of other biomolecules.
