Abstract
Two new lanthanide-based coordination polymers, [Sm2(bzz)(ben)6(H2O)3]·0.5H2O (1) and [Eu(bbz)(ben)3] (2), were synthesized and characterized. The described products were formed from in situ-generated benzoate (ben) and N'-benzoylbenzohydrazide (bbz) ligands, which were the products of transformation of originally added benzhydrazide (bzz) under hydrothermal conditions. Compound 1 exhibits a one-dimensional (1D) double-chain structure built up from the connection of the central Sm3+ ions with a mixture of bzz and ben ligands. On the other hand, 2 features a 3D network with a 4-connected (66) dia topology constructed from dinuclear [Eu2(ben)6] secondary building units and bbz linkers. High-pressure CO2 sorption studies of activated 1 show that maximum uptake increases to exceptionally high values of 376.7 cm3 g-1 (42.5 wt%) under a pressure of 50 bar at 298 K with good recyclability. Meanwhile, 2 shows a typical red emission in the solid state at room temperature with the decay lifetime of 1.2 ms.

Abstract
Following the pioneering work of Sauvage and Stoddart on rotaxanes, construction of higher dimensional polyrotaxanes in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) via a modified protocol is challenging. We present the formation of a two-dimensional (2D) polyrotaxane and its conversion to a three-dimensional (3D) polyrotaxane MOF via a photoreaction between interdigitated "olefin wheels". For this purpose, a 2-fold entangled 2D MOF [Pb2(bpp)(sdc)2] (1), showing a 2D + 2D → 2D polyrotaxane motif, has been synthesized from the solvothermal reaction of lead(II) nitrate, 3,3'-stilbenedicarboxylic acid (H2sdc) containing an olefin group, and 1,4-bis(4-pyridyl)piperazine (bpp). The single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis of 1 revealed that the adjacent entangled 2D layers are interdigitated, with the separation of 3.72 Å between C═C bond pairs in adjacent layers satisfying Schmidt's criteria for the occurrence of a [2 + 2] photocycloaddition reaction. Irradiation of the single crystals of 1 under UV light resulted in formation of a 3D polyrotaxane, [Pb2(bpp)(rctt-tccb)]n (2), due to a [2 + 2] photocycloaddition reaction between two wheels via a single-crystal to single-crystal transformation. The photocycloaddition and partial thermal cleavage reaction between 1 and 2 were confirmed by 1H NMR and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) in solution and the solid state, respectively. The present approach could contribute to the understanding of the construction of higher dimensional polyrotaxanes which are not accessible by the traditional routes.

Abstract
Effective detection of organic/inorganic pollutants, such as antibiotics, nitro-compounds, excessive Fe3+ and MnO4 - , is crucial for human health and environmental protection. Here, a new terbium(III)-organic framework, namely [Tb(TATAB)(H2 O)]⋅2H2 O (Tb-MOF, H3 TATAB=4,4',4''-s-triazine-1,3,5-triyltri-m-aminobenzoic acid), was assembled and characterized. The Tb-MOF exhibits a water-stable 3D bnn framework. Due to the existence of competitive absorption, Tb-MOF has a high selectivity for detecting Fe3+ , MnO4 - , 4-nirophenol and nitroimidazole (ronidazole, metronidazole, dimetridazole, ornidazole) in aqueous through luminescent quenching. The results suggest that Tb-MOF is a simple and reliable reagent with multiple sensor responses in practical applications. To the best of our knowledge, this work represents the first TbIII -based MOF as an efficient fluorescent sensor for detecting metal ions, inorganic anions, nitro-compounds, and antibiotics simultaneously.

Abstract
The crystal structure of the title polymer, {[Zn(C8H4O6S)(C10H8N2S)(H2O)]·0.26H2O} n , is characterized by a layered arrangement parallel to the ab plane. The zinc cation is five-coordinated in a slightly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment defined by two pyridine ligands, two carboxyl-ate groups of two thio-phene di-carboxyl-ate ligands, and by one water mol-ecule. The ethyl-ene bridge in the dioxine ligand is disordered over two sets of sites [occupancy ratio 0.624 (9):0.376 (9)]. Several hydrogen-bonding inter-actions of the types O-H⋯O, C-H⋯O, C-H⋯S and C-H⋯N ensure the cohesion within the crystal structure.

Abstract
Two new complexes [Co(NIPH)(bimb)(H2O)]n (1) and [Ni(NIPH)(mbix)]n (2) (H2NIPH = 5-nitroisophthalic acid, bimb = 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-yl)butane, mbix = 1,3-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene) have been hydrothermally synthesised and structurally characterised by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, UV spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 exhibits a two-dimensional (2D) network, which was stabilised through O–H···O and C–H···O hydrogen-bonding interactions. Complex 2 shows a two-dimensional (2D) network structure, which was further extended into a three-dimensional supramolecular structure through C–H···O hydrogen bonds and π–π interactions. Moreover, we analysed the natural bond orbital (NBO) using the PBE0/LANL2DZ method in the Gaussian 03 program. The calculation results indicated the obvious covalent interactions between the coordinated atoms and the CoII or NiII ion.
