Abstract
Four rutheniumethynyl-triarylamine complexes 1-4 with different aryl bridge cores were prepared. The solid structures of complexes 2-4 were fully confirmed by X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis. Two consecutive one-electron oxidation processes of complexes 1-4 were attributed to the ruthenium and nitrogen centers, as revealed by cyclic voltammetry and square-wave voltammogram. Results also showed decreasing potential difference ΔE of complexes 1, 3, and 4, with the largest value for 2. Upon chemical oxidation of complexes 1-4 by 1.0 eq oxidation reagents FcPF6 or AgSbF6 , the mixed-valence complexes, except for 2+ , show characteristic broad NIR absorptions in the UV-vis-NIR spectroscopic experiments. NIR multiple absorptions were assigned to NAr2 →RuCp*(dppe) intervalence charge transfer (IVCT) and metal-to-ligand charge transfer transitions by TDDFT calculations. Coupling parameter (Hab ) from Hush theory revealed that increasing electronic communication in 1+ , 3+ , and 4+ . Electron density distribution of the HOMO for neutral molecules (1, 3, and 4) and spin density distribution of the corresponding single-oxidized states (1+ , 3+ , and 4+ ) increases progressively on the bridge as the size of the aromatic system increases, proving incremental contributions from bridge cores during oxidation.

Abstract
The Pd0/AuI-mediated coupling between a tungsten stannylcarbyne and a diverse range of aryl halides has allowed from one to four carbynes to be appended to, and bridged by, central aromatic ring systems including fused polycyclic examples.

Abstract
The reactions of the ditungstaoctatetrayne [(Tp*)(CO)2W([triple bond, length as m-dash]CC[triple bond, length as m-dash]CC[triple bond, length as m-dash]CC[triple bond, length as m-dash])W(CO)2(Tp*)] with several metal complexes have been investigated. Addition of [Co2(CO)8] occurs across the internal C[triple bond, length as m-dash]C bonds, whereas [AuCl(SMe2)] initially delivers 'AuCl' across the W[triple bond, length as m-dash]C carbyne bonds before undergoing further reaction to oxidise the tungsten and replace the carbonyl ligands with chloride in [(Tp*)Cl2W([triple bond, length as m-dash]CC[triple bond, length as m-dash]CC[triple bond, length as m-dash]CC[triple bond, length as m-dash])WCl2(Tp*)] with retention of the ditungstaoctatetrayne bridge. Reaction with [AuCl(PR3)] (R = Ph, Cy) in the presence of AgPF6 prevents this oxidation and adds [AuPR3]+ across the W[triple bond, length as m-dash]C bonds to give dicationic derivatives. Finally, the reaction with [Pt(nbe)3] (nbe = norbornene, bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene) and 1,5-cyclooctadiene (COD) adds a 'Pt(COD)' unit to one or both tungsten-carbon bonds, allowing both the mono- and diplatinum complexes to be isolated.

Abstract
Two related three-membered series of nonlinear aminophenylferrocene and diphenylaminoferrocene complexes were prepared and characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The first series consists of 4-(diphenylamino)phenylferrocene (TPA-Fc, 1a), its dimethoxy-substituted tetraphenylphenylenediamine derivative (M2TPPD-Fc, 1c), and the triphenylamine-bridged bis(ferrocenyl) complex (Fc-TPA-Fc, 1b). The second series involves bis(4-methoxyphenyl)aminoferrocene (M2DPA-Fc, 1d), 4-methoxyphenylaminoferrocene (MPA-Fc) with N-phenyl-appended terminal TPA (1e), and the corresponding bis(MPA-Fc) complex with bridging TPA (1f). The structure of complex 1d was further confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Combined investigations, based on anodic voltammetry, UV-vis-NIR spectroelectrochemistry and density functional theory (DFT) calculations, were conducted to illustrate the influence of the integration of multiple redox-active components on the sequential oxidation of these complexes. The first anodic steps in 1a-1f are localized preferentially on the ferrocenyl units, followed by oxidation of the TPA or TPPD moieties (absent in 1d). Irreversible oxidation of the ferrocene-appended strong donor DPA/MPA units in 1d-1f terminates the anodic series. The one-electron oxidation of the triphenylamine-bridged diferrocenyl (1b) and bis(phenylaminoferrocenyl) (1f) complexes triggers their facile redox disproportionation to dicationic bis(ferrocenium) products.
