Abstract
In this study, the effect of alumina nanowire on the physical and biological properties of polyhydroxybutyrate-keratin (PHB-K) electrospun scaffold was investigated. First, PHB-K/alumina nanowire nanocomposite scaffolds were made with an optimal concentration of 3 wt% alumina nanowire by using the electrospinning method. The samples were examined in terms of morphology, porosity, tensile strength, contact angle, biodegradability, bioactivity, cell viability, ALP activity, mineralization ability, and gene expression. The nanocomposite scaffold provided a porosity of >80 % and a tensile strength of about 6.72 Mpa, which were noticeable for an electrospun scaffold. AFM images showed an increase in the surface roughness with the presence of alumina nanowires. This led to an improvement in the degradation rate and bioactivity of PHB-K/alumina nanowire scaffolds. The viability of mesenchymal cells, alkaline phosphatase secretion, and mineralization significantly increased with the presence of alumina nanowire compared to PHB and PHB-K scaffolds. In addition, the expression level of collagen I, osteocalcin, and RUNX2 genes in nanocomposite scaffolds increased significantly compared to other groups. In general, this nanocomposite scaffold could be a novel and interesting construct for osteogenic induction in bone tissue engineering.

Abstract
For the creation of tissue-engineered structures based on natural biopolymers with the necessary chemical, physical, adhesive, morphological, and regenerative properties, biocompatible materials based on polysaccharides and proteins are used. This work is devoted to a problem of the technology of polymeric materials for biomedical purposes: the creation of biopolymer tissue engineering matrix and the development of a methodology for studying morphology and functional properties of their surface to establish the prospects for using the material for contact with living objects. The conditions for the formation of scaffolds based on composite materials of chitosan and fibroin determine the structure of the material, the thickness and orientation of molecular layers, the surface morphology, and other parameters that affect cell adhesion and growth. The analysis of studies of the morphology and properties of the surface of biopolymer matrices obtained using different methods of molding from solutions of chitosan and fibroin is carried out.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to synthesize an innovative composite scaffold, which structured of clinoptilolite-nanohydroxyapatite/chitosan-gelatin (CLN-nHA/CS-G) with enhanced attributes for utilization in the bone tissue engineering. This composite scaffold was prepared by blending the CLN, nHA, chitosan, and gelatin solution followed by a freeze-drying step. The fabricated composite scaffolds were studied using BET, FTIR, XRD, and SEM techniques. The highly porous composite scaffolds with a pore size of 200 ± 100 μm were synthesized. Moreover, the effects of CLN and nHA on the physicochemical features of the scaffold such as density, swelling ratio, biomineralization, biodegradation, and mechanical behavior were studied. Compared with CS-G scaffold, the presence of CLN and nHA leads to an increased surface area, increased biomineralization, and low rate of degradation in simulated body fluid solution (SBF) and mechanical strength. Cytotoxicity of the CLN-nHA/CS-G scaffold was studied by MTT assay on human dental pulp stem cells (h-DPSCs). The biological response of h-DPSCs showed no toxicity and studied cells proliferated and attached on the pore surfaces of the scaffold. Results indicated that introducing CLN and nHA to composite improves the scaffold characteristics in a way that makes it suitable for bone tissue engineering.

Abstract
Fabrication of an appropriate scaffold is the key fundamental step required for a successful tissue engineering (TE). The artificial scaffold as extracellular matrix in TE has noticeable role in the fate of cells in terms of their attachment, proliferation, differentiation, orientation and movement. In addition, chemical and electrical stimulations affect various behaviors of cells such as polarity and functionality. Therefore, the fabrication approach and materials used for the preparation of scaffold should be more considered. Various synthetic and natural polymers have been used extensively for the preparation of scaffolds. The electrically conductive polymers (ECPs), moreover, have been used in combination with other polymers to apply electric fields (EF) during TE. In this context, composites of natural polypeptides and ECPs can be taken into account as context for the preparation of suitable scaffolds with superior biological and physicochemical features. In this review, we overviewed the simultaneous usage of natural polypeptides and ECPs for the fabrication of scaffolds in TE.

Abstract
Silk fibroin (SF) and konjac glucomannan (KGM) are promising materials in the biomedical field due to their low toxicity, biocompatibility, biodegradability and low immune response. Beads of these natural polymers are interesting scaffolds for biomedical applications, but their fabrication is a challenge due to their low stability and the necessary adaptation of their chemical and mechanical properties to be successfully applied. In that sense, this study aimed to synthesize a blend of silk fibroin and konjac glucomannan (SF/KGM) in the form of porous beads obtained through dripping into liquid nitrogen, with a post-treatment using ethanol. Intermolecular hydrogen bonds promoted the integration of SF and KGM. Treated beads showed higher porous size, crystallinity, and stability than untreated beads. Characterization analyses by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric (TGA), and X-ray diffraction (XDR) evidenced that ethanol treatment allows a conformational transition from silk I to silk II in SF and an increase in the KGM deacetylation. Those chemical changes significantly enhanced the mechanical resistance of SF/KGM beads in comparison to pure SF and KGM beads. Moreover, samples showed cytocompatibility with HaCaT and BALB/c 3T3 cells.
