Abstract
β-Keto acids, ideal surrogates of inactive ketones, play an important role in organic synthesis. The asymmetric decarboxylative reaction using β-keto acids is the one which is being studied the most. Herein we present a comprehensive review on this research topic, which is generally classified according to different catalytic systems and chiral induction modes. Additionally, some extended utilities of these methodologies for synthesizing bioactive compounds were also summarized. This review will facilitate the synthetic community to understand the role of β-keto acids in asymmetric reactions, providing many new opportunities for further exploration in this field.

Abstract
Decarboxylation strategy has been emerging as a powerful tool for the synthesis of fluorine-containing organic compounds that play important roles in various fields such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and materials science. Considerable progress in decarboxylation has been made over the past decade towards the construction of diverse valuable fluorinated fine chemicals for which the fluorinated part can be brought in two ways. The first way is described as the reaction of non-fluorinated carboxylic acids (and their derivatives) with fluorinating reagents, as well as fluorine-containing building blocks. The second way is dedicated to the exploration and the use of fluorine-containing carboxylic acids (and their derivatives) in decarboxylative transformations. This review aims to provide a comprehensive summary of the development and applications of decarboxylative radical, nucleophilic and cross-coupling strategies in organofluorine chemistry.

Abstract
Despite extensive efforts by many practitioners in the field, methods for the direct α-C-H bond functionalization of unprotected alicyclic amines remain rare. A new advance in this area utilizes N-lithiated alicyclic amines. These readily accessible intermediates are converted to transient imines through the action of a simple ketone oxidant, followed by alkylation with a β-ketoacid under mild conditions to provide valuable β-amino ketones with unprecedented ease. Regioselective α'-alkylation is achieved for substrates with existing α-substituents. The method is further applicable to the convenient one-pot synthesis of polycyclic dihydroquinolones through the incorporation of a SN Ar step.

Abstract
Decarboxylative addition reactions are well known as an effective approach to
C–C bonds formation due to the availability of starting reagents, ease of handling, and low
environmental impact. This approach clearly demonstrated its potential for the synthesis
of the variety of acyclic and heterocyclic compounds, including optically active ones. The
significant amount of articles devoted to this topic published in recent years proves the
importance of this approach in modern organic synthesis. In this review, the recent
achievements in decarboxylative addition to C=C, C=N, and C=O bonds have been summarized
and discussed over the last 6 years.

Abstract
An expedient synthesis of hitherto unexplored novel hybrid heterocycles comprising dispiropyrrolidine, N-styrylpiperidone and indeno[1,2-b]quinoxaline units has been developed via domino multicomponent 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition strategy employing a new class of azomethine ylide in ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide. This domino protocol involves, 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition and concomitant enamine reaction affording the dispiropyrrolidine tethered N-styrylpiperidone hybrid heterocycles in moderate to good yield in a single step. These compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial activity against bacterial and fungal pathogens, therein compounds 8f, 8h, and 8l displayed significant activity against tested microbial pathogens. The synergistic effect revealed that the combination of compound 8h with streptomycin and vancomycin exhibited potent synergistic activity against E. coli ATCC 25922. In addition, molecular docking simulation has also been studied for the most active compound.

Abstract
The reaction of chiral N-tert-butanesulfinyl aldimines with β-keto acids under basic conditions at room temperature proceeds with high levels of diastereocontrol, leading to β-amino ketones in high yields. Based on DFT calculations, an eight-membered cyclic transition state involving coordination of the lithium atom to the oxygens of carboxylate and sulfinyl units was proposed, being in agreement with the observed experimental diastereomeric ratios. The synthesis of the piperidine alkaloid (-)-pelletierine was successfully undertaken in order to demonstrate the utility of this methodology.
