Abstract
This research presents a highly sensitive and selective electrochemical sensor for detecting paracetamol. The sensor is created using laser direct-writing on a flexible PI substrate to form LIG electrodes. Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are then synthesized on the working electrode through secondary laser reduction, resulting in an AuNPs/LIG composite. This combination enhances the sensor's electrochemical activity, electron transfer rate, and adsorption capacity. The sensor exhibits a linear response to paracetamol concentrations with a detection limit of 0.086 μM. Testing on Tylenol tablets and tap water showed good recovery rates. The sensor displays strong anti-interference, reproducibility, and stability, making it a promising tool for effective paracetamol monitoring in real-world situations.

An on-site and portable electrochemical sensing platform based on spinel zinc ferrite nanoparticles for the quality control of paracetamol in pharmaceutical samples. Abstract
In this study, crystalline spinel zinc ferrite nanoparticles (ZnFe2O4 NPs) were successfully prepared and proposed as a high-performance electrode material for the construction of an electrochemical sensing platform for the detection of paracetamol (PCM). By modifying a screen-printed carbon electrode (SPE) with ZnFe2O4 NPs, the electrochemical characteristics of the ZnFe2O4/SPE and the electrochemical oxidation of PCM were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), chronoamperometry (CA), and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) methods. The calculated electrochemical kinetic parameters from these techniques including electrochemically active surface area (ECSA), peak-to-peak separation (ΔEp), charge transfer resistance (Rct), standard heterogeneous electron-transfer rate constants (k0), electron transfer coefficient (α), catalytic rate constant (kcat), adsorption capacity (Γ), and diffusion coefficient (D) proved that the as-synthesized ZnFe2O4 NPs have rapid electron/mass transfer characteristics, intrinsic electrocatalytic activity, and facilitate the adsorption-diffusion of PCM molecules towards the modified electrode surface. As expected, the ZnFe2O4/SPE offered excellent analytical performance towards sensing of PCM with a detection limit of 0.29 μM, a wide linear range of 0.5-400 μM, and high electrochemical sensitivity of 1.1 μA μM-1 cm-2. Moreover, the proposed ZnFe2O4-based electrochemical nanosensor also exhibited good repeatability, high anti-interference ability, and practical feasibility toward PCM sensing in a pharmaceutical tablet. Based on these observations, the designed electrochemical platform not only provides a high-performance nanosensor for the rapid and highly efficient detection of PCM but also opens a new avenue for routine quality control analysis of pharmaceutical formulations.

Abstract
Surfactants such as sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) are used to improve the dispersity of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in aqueous solutions. The surfactant concentration in CNT solutions is a critical factor in the dielectrophoretic (DEP) manipulation of CNTs. A high surfactant concentration causes a rapid increase in the solution conductivity, while a low concentration results in undesirably large CNT bundles within the solution. The increase in the solution conductivity causes drag velocity that obstructs the CNT manipulation process due to the electrothermal forces induced by the electric field. The presence of large CNT bundles is undesirable since they degrade the device performance. In this work, mathematical modeling and experimental work were used to optimize the concentration of the SDS surfactant in multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) solutions. The solutions were characterized using dynamic light scattering (DLS) and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) analysis. We found that the optimum SDS concentration in MWCNT solutions for the successful DEP manipulation of MWCNTs was between 0.1 and 0.01 wt %. A novel DEP configuration was then used to assemble MWCNTs across transparent electrodes. The configuration was based on ceiling deposition, where the electrodes were on top of a droplet. The newly proposed configuration reduced the drag velocity and prevented the assembly of large MWCNT bundles. MWCNTs were successfully assembled and aligned across interdigitated electrodes (IDEs). The assembly of MWCNTs from aqueous solutions across transparent electrodes has potential use in future transparent electronics and sensor devices.

Abstract
In this work, MoO2 nanoparticles were synthesized and annealed to form Mo2C nanoparticles. This is the first report of a ratiometric electrochemical sensor (R-ECS) for the detection of acetaminophen (AP), in which Mo2C is used as the sensing agent and ferrocene (FC) is used as an internal reference. FC (100 μM) is added directly to the electrolyte solution for convenient operation. The synthesized materials were fully characterized with respect to composition, morphology and electrochemical performance. The oxidation peak potentials of FC (0.196 V) and AP (0.364 V) can be completely separated by the Mo2C modified glassy carbon electrode, and their ratiometric signals are used for the quantification of AP. It was found that the oxidation peak currents of AP at separated potentials on Mo2C/GCE are linear with concentration in the range of 0.5-600 μM, and the detection limit is 0.029 μM (S/N = 3). Mo2C/GCE exhibited decent repeatability, reproducibility, stability, and selectivity. The sensor was then applied to measure AP in tap water and river water.

Abstract
In this work, we present a dual-functional sensor that can perform surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) based identification and electrochemical (EC) quantification of analytes in liquid samples. A lithography-free reactive ion etching process was utilized to obtain nanostructures of high aspect ratios distributed homogeneously on a 4 in. fused silica wafer. The sensor was made up of three-electrode array, obtained by subsequent e-beam evaporation of Au on nanostructures in selected areas through a shadow mask. The SERS performance was evaluated through surface-averaged enhancement factor (EF), which was ∼6.2 × 105, and spatial uniformity of EF, which was ∼13% in terms of relative standard deviation. Excellent electrochemical performance and reproducibility were revealed by recording cyclic voltammograms. On nanostructured electrodes, paracetamol (PAR) showed an improved quasi-reversible behavior with decrease in peak potential separation (ΔEp ∼ 90 mV) and higher peak currents (Ipa/Ipc ∼ 1), compared to planar electrodes (ΔEp ∼ 560 mV). The oxidation potential of PAR was also lowered by ∼80 mV on nanostructured electrodes. To illustrate dual-functional sensing, quantitative evaluation of PAR ranging from 30 μM to 3 mM was realized through EC detection, and the presence of PAR was verified by its SERS fingerprint.
