Abstract
A robust porous organic polymer cross-linked by Sn(iv) porphyrin (SnPOP) was fabricated by reacting trans-dihydroxo-[5,15,10,20-tetrakis(phenyl)porphyrinato]tin(iv) (SnP) with fluorinated polyimide (FPI) via sol-gel formation, followed by supercritical CO2 drying. The structural and porous properties of SnPOP were characterized using FT-IR, UV-vis, and fluorescence spectroscopies, along with field-emission scanning electron microscopy and gas sorption experiments. The reaction between the SnP's oxophilic Sn(iv) center and FPI's carboxylic acid moiety resulted in a controllable cross-linked porous texture. This material features the desirable physical properties of porphyrin and exhibits mesoporous structures with a relatively high surface area. SnPOP is thermally stable at temperatures up to 600 °C and highly resistant to boiling water, strong acids, and bases, owing to its assembly via formation of covalent bonds instead of typically weaker hydrogen bonds. The modified chemical and morphological structures of SnPOP showed an impressive CO2 uptake capacity of 58.48 mg g-1 at 273 K, with a preference for CO2 over N2. SnPOP showed significant efficiency in removing pollutant dyes, such as methylene blue and methyl orange, from dye-contaminated water. Additionally, SnPOP was a photocatalyst for fabricating silver nanoparticles of regular shape and size. All these properties make SnPOP a potential candidate for environmental applications like pollutant removal, gas storage, and separation.

Abstract
Nitrogen-enriched nanoporous polytriazines (NENPs) have been synthesized by ultrafast microwave-assisted condensation of melamine and cyanuric chloride. The experimental conditions have been optimized to tune the textural properties by synthesizing materials at different times, temperatures, microwave powers, and solvent contents. The maximum specific surface area (SABET) of 840 m2 g-1 was estimated in the sample (NENP-1) synthesized at 140 °C with a microwave power of 400 W and reaction time of 30 min. One of the major objectives of achieving a large nitrogen content as high as 52 wt % in the framework was realized. As predicted, the nitrogen amelioration has benefitted the application by capturing a very good amount of CO2 of 22.9 wt % at 273 K and 1 bar. Moreover, the CO2 storage capacity per unit specific surface area (per m2 g-1) is highest among the reported nanoporous organic frameworks. The interaction of the CO2 molecules with the polytriazine framework was theoretically investigated by using density functional theory. The experimental CO2 capture capacity was validated from the outcome of the theoretical calculations. The superior CO2 capture capability along with the theoretical investigation not only makes the nanoporous NENPs superior adsorbents for the energy and environmental applications but also provides a significant insight into the fundamental understanding of the interaction of CO2 molecules with the amine functionalities of the nanoporous frameworks.

Abstract
An azo-linked covalent organic polymer, Py-azo-COP, was synthesized by employing a highly blue-fluorescent pyrene derivative that is multiply substituted with bulky isopropyl groups. Py-azo-COP was investigated for its sensing and gas adsorption properties. Py-azo-COP shows selective sensing toward the electron-deficient polynitroaromatic compound picric acid among the many other competing analogs that were investigated. Apart from its chemosensing ability, Py-azo-COP (surface area 700 m2 g-1) exhibits moderate selectivity toward adsorption of CO2 and stores up to 8.5 wt % of CO2 at 1 bar and 18.2 wt % at 15.5 bar at 273 K, although this is limited due to the electron-rich -N=N- linkages being flanked by isopropyl groups. Furthermore, the presence of a large number of isopropyl groups imparts hydrophobicity to Py-azo-COP, as confirmed by the increased adsorption of toluene compared to that of water in the pores of the COP.

Abstract
Tuning the binding affinity of small gases and their selective uptake by porous adsorbents are vital for effective CO2 removal from gas mixtures for environmental protection and fuel upgrading. In this study, an amine-functionalized benzimidazole-linked polymer (BILP-6-NH2) was synthesized by a combination of pre- and postsynthetic modification techniques in two steps. Presynthetic incorporation of nitro groups resulted in stoichiometric functionalization (1 nitro/phenyl) in addition to noninvasive functionalization, where more than 80% of the surface area maintained compared to BILP-6. Experimental studies presented enhanced CO2 uptake and CO2/CH4 selectivity in BILP-6-NH2 compared to BILP-6, which are governed by the synergetic effect of benzimidazole and amine moieties. DFT calculations were used to understand the interaction modes of CO2 with BILP-6-NH2 and confirmed the efficacy of amine groups. Encouraged by the enhanced uptake and selectivity in BILP-6-NH2, we have evaluated its performance in landfill gas separation under vacuum swing adsorption (VSA) settings, which resulted in very promising working capacity and sorbent selection parameters outperforming most of the best solid adsorbent in the literature.
