Abstract
A mild, transition-metal-free novel synthetic approach for the construction of C═O and C-N bonds has been demonstrated. Easily accessible gem-dibromoalkenes under similar conditions form oxidative amidation product α-ketoamides and unusual degradative amidation product N-alkyl amides by simply changing the amine substitute. Atmospheric air containing molecular oxygen proved to be an ideal oxidant for an amidation reaction. Under similar conditions, the electron-deficient gem-dibromoalkenes play a dual role with different formamides forming novel oxidative amidation products and by the state of art neighboring group participation of amine to unusual one-carbon degradative amidation products.

Abstract
An efficient base, additive and metal-free synthetic methods for α-ketothioamide and α-ketoamide derivatives from readily available sulfoxonium ylides have been described. Sulfoxonium ylides with primary or secondary amines afforded α-ketothioamides in the presence of elemental sulfur, whereas α-ketoamides were produced when I2 and TBHP were present. The reaction proceeded well at room temperature and generated the corresponding molecules in good to excellent yields. The reaction can be scaled-up and tolerated by a range of functional groups with simple operational procedures.

Abstract
A one-pot strategy for α-keto amide bond formation have been developed by using ynamides as coupling reagents under extremely mild reaction conditions. Diversely structural α-ketoamides were afforded in up to 98% yield for 36 examples. This reaction features advantages such as practical coupling procedure, wide functional group tolerance, and extremely mild conditions and has potential applications in synthetic and medicinal chemistry.

Promising Cr-Doped ZnO Nanorods for Photocatalytic Degradation Facing Pollution. APPLIED SCIENCES-BASEL 2021. Abstract
Chromium (Cr)-doped zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods with wurtzite hexagonal structure were prepared through a thermal decomposition technique. The concentration effect of the Cr doping on the structural, morphological, and optical properties of the ZnO nanorods was established by correlating various measurements: transmission electron microscopy (TEM), photoluminescence (PL), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and several UV-visible studies. The obtained nanorods were investigated as photocatalysts for the photodegradation process of methyl orange (MO), under UV-vis light illumination. Different weights and time intervals were studied. A 99.8% photodegradation of MO was obtained after 100 min in the presence of 1 wt.% Cr III acetate hydroxide and zinc acetate dehydrate “ZnO-Cr1”. The kinetic rate constant of the reaction was found to be equal to 4.451 × 10−2 min−1 via a pseudo-first order rate model. Scavenger radicals demonstrated the domination of OH• radicals by those of O2•− superoxide species during the photodegradation. The interstitial oxygen site Oi is proposed to play a key role in the generation of holes in the valence band under visible irradiation. The ZnO-Cr1 photocatalyst displayed good cycling stability and reusability.

Abstract
An I2-DMSO mediated oxidative amidation of methyl ketones using anthranils as masked N-nucleophiles has been developed for the direct synthesis of α-ketoamides with high atom-economy. This metal-free process involves reductive N-O bond cleavage of anthranils and oxidative C-N bond formation of methyl ketones under mild conditions. The iodo group and electrophilic formyl group provide multiple possibilities for further functionalization of α-ketoamides.

Abstract
Due to the importance of the amino ketone motif in synthetic and medicinal chemistry, the number of protocols developed in recent years has considerably increased. This review serves to collate and critically evaluate novel methodologies published since 2011 towards this high value synthon. The chapters are divided by the requisite functionality in the starting material, and an emphasis is placed on discussing functional group compatibility and resultant product substitution patterns. Throughout, applications to medicinal targets are highlighted and mechanistic details are presented, and we further provide a short outlook for future development and emerging potential within this area.
