Abstract
Anion templated assembly of supramolecular systems has been extensively explored in previous reports, whereas anions serve only as an auxiliary and spectator role. With the development of anion coordination chemistry in recent years, anion coordination-driven assembly (ACDA) has emerged as a new strategy for the construction of supramolecular self-assemblies. Anions are proved to exist as the main actors in the construction of supramolecular architectures, i. e., serve as the coordination center. This Review will focus on the recent progress in anion-coordination-driven assembly of discrete supramolecular architectures, such as helicates, polyhedrons and polygons, and the various applications of 'aniono'-systems. At the end of this Review, we highlight current challenges and opportunities for future research of anion-coordination-driven self-assembly.

Abstract
This paper describes the syntheses of [2]rotaxanes comprising 23- and 26-membered biphenyl crown ethers as the macrocyclic components and secondary ammonium ions as the dumbbell-shaped components, and the locking of the dynamic axial chirality of the biphenyl moieties in these structures. Chiral high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) revealed that our [2]rotaxane featuring the 26-membered crown ether racemized at room temperature, but the racemization of the [2]rotaxane featuring the 23-membered crown ether did not proceed at room temperature over a period of three days. After separation of the enantiomers of the [2]rotaxane incorporating the 23-membered crown ether through chiral HPLC, we studied its racemization at elevated temperature. The rate of stereoinversion in dimethylsulfoxide (a polar solvent) was faster than that in o-dichlorobenzene (a nonpolar solvent), and herein we discuss these kinetic parameters.

Abstract
Charge-transfer (CT) complexes, formed by noncovalent bonding between electron-rich (donor, D) and electron-deficient (acceptor, A) molecules (or moieties) have attracted considerable attention due to their fascinating structures and potential applications. Herein, we demonstrate that anion coordination is a promising strategy to promote CT complex formation between anion-binding, electron-rich tris(urea) donor ligands (D) and electron-deficient viologen cation acceptors (A), which form co-crystals featuring infinite ⋅⋅⋅DADA⋅⋅⋅ or discrete (circular DADA or three-decker DAD) π-stacking interactions. These CT complexes were studied by X-ray diffraction, UV/Vis spectroscopy, electric conductivity measurements, charge displacement curve (CDC) calculations, and DFT computations.

A novel fluorescent sensor based on 4-(diethylamino)-2-(hydroxy)-phenyl imine functionalized naphthalimide for highly selective and sensitive detection of CN– and Fe3+. CAN J CHEM 2019. Abstract
In this work, a novel sensor molecule HB1, based on a 4-(diethylamino)-2-(hydroxy)-phenyl imine functionalized naphthalimide derivative, was successfully designed and synthesized. Interestingly, the HB1 showed fluorescence identification ability for CN– in DMSO/H2O (8:2, v/v) solution. After addition of CN– into the HB1 solution, the fluorescence intensity of HB1 solution could be enhanced obviously. The anti-disturbance experiments demonstrated that other anions could not interfere in the detection of CN–. On the other hand, HB1 was capable of dual-channel (absorption and fluorescence) detection of Fe3+ in DMSO solution. With the addition of various metal ions into the HB1 solution, only Fe3+ induced the fluorescence emission of HB1 solution quenching and the colour change, and other metal ions could not interfere in the detection of Fe3+. The limits of detection (LODs) of HB1 for CN– and Fe3+ were 6.30 × 10−8 and 3.95 × 10−8 mol/L, respectively. Importantly, the real sample experiment was carried out by detecting CN– in bitter almonds. Additionally, ion test strips based on HB1 were fabricated, which could act as convenient and efficient test kits for detecting CN– and Fe3+.

Abstract
A biradical consisting of two nitronyl nitroxide (NN) radicals bridged by diphenyl-hexaethylene glycol chain [phenyl-O-(CH2CH2O)6-phenyl (GBN1)] was synthesized and investigated using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy in solution at different temperature ranges. The reversible temperature dependence behavior of spin coupling exchange is comprehensively reflected by the different lifetime of conformations due to a tumbling motion of the flexible hexaethylene glycol chain. The influences of different solvent on the exchange interactions between the radical entities are described by a two-conformational model, which was, for the first time, applied for di-NN molecule and revealed the thermodynamic parameters enthalpy and entropy (ΔH and ΔS) of the conformational changes. The positive value of enthalpy indicates lower energy of the stretched form (as calculated) compared to the bent form. The transition enthalpy in polar MeCN is larger than in toluene and the positive entropy sign indicates more chain conformation options in the bent state. The magnetic properties of this molecule were investigated in solid state by magnetization studies and EPR spectroscopy.
