Abstract
Dinuclear aluminum methyl complexes bearing aromatic diamine-bridged tetra(phenolato) ligands and the mononuclear aluminum methyl complex with the phenylamine-bridged bis(phenolato) ligand have been synthesized and characterized. Structure determination revealed that the Al-Al distances in these dinuclear aluminum complexes are tunable by the choice of the suitable aromatic backbone of the diamine-bridged tetra(phenolato) ligands. The catalytic behaviors of these mono- and dinuclear aluminum complexes for cyclohexene oxide (CHO) polymerization were investigated. The activities of these dinuclear Al complexes were observed to increase with the decrease of Al-Al distances, and the dinuclear Al complexes appeared to have better catalytic activity than the mononuclear Al complex, even if the Al-Al distance is as long as 9.401 Å. Dinuclear aluminum complex 2, with the shortest Al-Al distance (7.236 Å), showed the highest activity toward CHO polymerization with TOFs up to 6460 h-1 in neat CHO at 30 °C. Furthermore, comparative kinetic studies revealed that the polymerization is first-order for CHO concentration, and the reaction orders for initiator concentration are different for the mono- and dinuclear Al complexes. The polymerization mechanism study revealed that both the methyl and phenolate groups were involved in the initiation process.

Abstract
This review highlights recent developments in the field of biodegradable polymeric materials intended to replace non-degradable conventional plastics, focusing on studies from the last ten years involving the stereoselective ring-opening polymerization of cyclic esters. This encompasses exciting advances in both catalyst design and monomer scope. Notably, the last decade has seen the emergence of metal-free stereocontrolled ROP for instance, as well as the synthesis and stereocontrolled polymerization of new types of chiral monomers. This study will emphasize recent stereoselective polymerization catalysts and chiral monomers and will focus on stereocontrol quantification, the mechanisms of stereocontrol and their differentiation if reported and studied for a specific catalyst system.

Abstract
The microstructure can significantly affect the physical and mechanical properties of polymers. Five chiral binuclear aluminum methyl complexes (rac1 to rac5) are synthesized by using chiral binaphthalene diamine ligand and characterized by both 1 H and 13 C NMR spectroscopy. The crystal structures of rac3 and rac5 are also identified by single crystal X-ray diffraction. In the presence of i PrOH initiator, these aluminum complexes catalyze the ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of rac-lactide (rac-LA) in a controlled manner and produce polymers with high to excellent isoselectivity (Pm up to 0.93). Even with a catalyst loading as low as 0.1%, polylactide with a Pm of 0.83 can still be obtained. Kinetic studies reveal the first-order dependence on monomer concentration whereas kinetic resolution polymerization provides the evidence to support that these binuclear aluminum catalysts catalyzed ROP of rac-LA adopts enantiomorphic site control mechanism. Furthermore, this strategy can also be applied to the ROP of both ε-caprolactone and δ-valeroactone.

Abstract
We report imine- and amine-based dinucleating ligands bearing a bisphenol backbone and explore their coordination chemistry with zinc to form zinc alkyl, alkoxide, acetate, and amide complexes. Full characterization of the complexes shows that this ligand framework can support dinuclear and trinuclear complexes. We explore the reactivity of the zinc alkyl and alkoxide complexes as catalysts for the ring opening polymerization of lactide and compared this reactivity to analogous mononuclear complexes. We show that 1) The amine-based complexes are more reactive than the imine-based analogues; 2) The trinuclear zinc alkyl species show unusual control and reproducibility for lactide polymerization; and 3) The extent of bimetallic cooperation is hampered by the ability of the ligand framework to form trinuclear clusters.

Abstract
Reported examples of aggregated initiators for the ring-opening polymerisation (ROP) of lactide often lack detailed investigations as to the nature of the active species, making it difficult to reconcile ligand design with performance. Here, we offer additional stability to the polynuclear titanium complexes, TiL(OiPr) (L = 9-14), through a bridging carboxylate anchored to the supporting amine bis(phenolate) ligands. An in-depth study of solution-state behaviour determined the process of assembly was driven by interactions between the carboxylate and a vacant site on a neighbouring titanium centre. Furthermore, we establish that mononuclear units form dynamic mixtures of polynuclear aggregates, with a clear relationship between nuclearity of the aggregates and the steric bulk on the ligand. Smaller aggregates displayed increased activity towards the ROP of rac-lactide. Furthermore, addition of a chiral centre, on the ligand framework, was investigated as a route to influence the selectivity of the polymerisation via easily-accessible initiators.
