Abstract
Harnessing the organo-palladium intermediates generated from electrophilic cyclizations for tandem C-C bond construction is a challenging task but constitutes an excellent tool for constructing complex motifs from simpler substrates. We realize herein such a cyclative annulation of alkynyl-oxime ethers with maleimides for the facile construction of isoxazole-phthalimide hybrid motifs through Pd(II) catalysis. This protocol features excellent regio-selectivity in C-H selection, a broad substrate scope, good functional group tolerance, and scalability. Necessary KIE & labeling studies give insight into the reaction mechanism.

Abstract
A reliable and efficient palladium-catalyzed cascade cyclization/alkylation of oxime ethers with unactivated alkenes is described, affording a whole variety of structurally diverse isoxazole derivatives in moderate to good yields with excellent functional group compatibility. Ionic liquid [Aeim]Br not only acts as an environmentally friendly solvent but also acts as an accelerating agent to provide excess bromine source to eliminate bromomethane from oxime ethers. More importantly, the use of "chain-walking" strategy provides a novel methodology in organic synthesis to rapid generation of molecular complexity from readily available starting materials.

Abstract
The combination of catalytic aqueous hydrochloric acid (HCl) and N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) generated electrophilic bromine monochloride (BrCl), which readily induced spiroannulation of 2-alkynolyl anilides (n = 1-3) to form gem-dibromospirocyclic benzo[d][1,3]oxazines in up to 92% yield. The reaction occurred under mild and metal-free conditions using EtOAc as a green solvent. The resulted spirocyclic products contained benzo[d][1,3]oxazine, which was useful both as a pharmacophore and synthetic precursor. In addition, the current protocol allowed to effortlessly introduce the sp3-gem-dibromide carbon adjacent to the sterically demanding spiroketal center. These spiroheterocycles (n = 1) were shown to be synthetically versatile and conveniently maneuvered. Base-promoted debrominative aromatization of these spirocycles unmasked rare and synthetically useful 2-aryl-3-bromofurans in mostly excellent yields. These 3-bromofurans were well-suited substrates for intramolecular Ullmann C-N bond coupling to construct difficult-to-prepare 4H-furo[3,2-b]indoles. Additionally, the current protocol was flexible and adaptable to preparing the gem-dichloride variants.

Abstract
A new convenient and versatile halogenating system (R4NHal/NOHSO4), giving straightforward and general access to halogenated 3,5-diaryl- and alkylarylisoxazoles, pyrazoles and electron-rich benzenes from the corresponding scaffolds, is suggested. The method provides excellent regioselectivity, scalability to the gram scale, and a broad scope for both aromatics and halogens. A three-step, one-pot reaction protocol was developed, and a series of 3,5-diaryl-4-haloisoxazoles has been efficiently synthesized from 1,2-diarylcyclopropanes under suggested nitrosating-halogenating conditions.

Abstract
A Pd-catalyzed Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction for the synthesis of C4-alkynylisoxazoles from 3,5-disubsitituted-4-iodoisoxazoles and terminal alkynes was described, which could afford the corresponding products with high yield (up to 98%). The results indicated that the steric effect from the group at the C3 position of the isoxazole had greater influence on the cross-coupling reaction than that from the group at the C5 position. In addition, the group at the C3 position of the isoxazole showed negligible electronic effects on the cross-coupling reaction. Furthermore, a gram-scale reaction of the Sonogashira coupling reaction was also investigated. Finally, a plausible mechanism for the Sonogashira coupling reaction was proposed. A Pd-catalyzed Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction for the synthesis of C4-alkynylisoxazoles from 3,5-disubsitituted-4-iodoisoxazoles and terminal alkynes was described, which could afford the corresponding products with high yield (up to 98%).![]()
