Abstract
For the first time, amides and ureas based on both 5-nitroisoquinoline and 5-nitrosoisoquinoline were obtained by direct nucleophilic substitution of hydrogen in the 5-nitroisoquinoline molecule. In the case of urea and monosubstituted ureas, only 5-nitrosoisoquinoline-6-amine is formed under anhydrous conditions.

Abstract
A visible light-mediated arylation protocol for t-amines has been reported through the coupling of γ- and α-amino alkyl radicals with different aryl diazonium salts using Ru(bpy)3Cl2·6H2O as a photocatalyst. Structurally different 9-aryl-9,10-dihydroacridine, 1-aryl tetrahydroisoquinoline, hexahydropyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinoline, and hexahydro-2H-pyrido[2,1-a]isoquinoline frameworks with different substitution patterns have been synthesized in good yield using this methodology.

Abstract
In the present scenario, there has been a lot of consideration toward the field of free radical chemistry. Free radicals responsive oxygen species are produced by different endogenous frameworks, exposure to various physicochemical conditions, radiation, toxins, metabolized drug by-product, and pathological states. On the off chance that free radical overpowers the body's capacity, it generates a condition known as oxidative stress, which can alter physiological conditions of the body and results in several diseases. For appropriate physiological function, it is necessary to have a proper balance between free radicals and antioxidants. Antioxidants chemically inhibit the oxidation process; they are also known as free radical scavengers. For tackling the problem of oxidative stress application of an external source of antioxidant is helpful. A lot of antioxidants of natural, semi-synthetic and synthetic origin are in use, with time search of more effective, nontoxic, safe antioxidant is intensified. The present review, discuss different synthetic derivatives bearing various heterocyclic scaffolds as radical scavengers.

Abstract
(N-Phenylfluorenylidene)acridane (Ph-FA) compounds with electron-withdrawing and -donating substituents (H, MeO, Ph, NO2 , Br, F) at the para position of the phenyl group were successfully synthesized by Barton-Kellogg reactions of N-aryl thioacridones and diazofluorene. By using the substituent on the nitrogen atom to alter the electronic properties, both the folded and twisted conformers of p-NO2 -C6 H4 -FA could be crystallographically characterized, which enabled the charge transfer from the electron-donating acridane moiety to the electron-accepting fluorenylidene moiety to be understood. Ground-state mechanochromism, thermochromism, vapochromism, and proton-induced chromism were demonstrated between the folded and twisted conformations of the conformers. Protonation and chemical oxidation of Ph-FA gave two stable acridinium compounds, namely, the fluorenylacridinium and acridinium radical cations. The present study will contribute to the development of functional dyes and organic semiconductors.

Abstract
Conventional methods for carrying out carbon-hydrogen functionalization and carbon-nitrogen bond formation are typically conducted at elevated temperatures, and rely on expensive catalysts as well as the use of stoichiometric, and perhaps toxic, oxidants. In this regard, electrochemical synthesis has recently been recognized as a sustainable and scalable strategy for the construction of challenging carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds. Here, electrosynthesis has proven to be an environmentally benign, highly effective and versatile platform for achieving a wide range of nonclassical bond disconnections via generation of radical intermediates under mild reaction conditions. This review provides an overview on the use of anodic electrochemical methods for expediting the development of carbon-hydrogen functionalization and carbon-nitrogen bond formation strategies. Emphasis is placed on methodology development and mechanistic insight and aims to provide inspiration for future synthetic applications in the field of electrosynthesis.

Abstract
Herein we present a clarification of the ambiguous persistence of the 10-methyl-9-phenylacridanyl, 9-phenylxanthenyl, and 9-phenylthioxanthenyl radicals in electrochemical experiments. Each of these radicals has separately been the subject of conflicting literature results for decades with publications claiming both their chemical inertness and propensity to dimerize. We assert that each radical is persistent at conventional electrochemical time scales up to several minutes based on reversible redox couples and cyclic voltammogram simulations of the radicals and their respective cations. All three radicals are rapidly consumed by aerial O2, which lends irreversibility to the redox couples after fewer than 20 s of exposure to air. With appreciation for the O2 sensitivity of these radicals, their electrochemically generated UV-visible absorption spectra have been acquired and matched to predictions made by TD-DFT calculations. Further, we propose that previous claims to have electrochemically measured radical-radical dimerizations have only observed reaction of these radicals with dissolved O2.

Abstract
AbstractDirect metal-free C–H functionalization of arenes with nucleophiles is a new chapter in the chemistry of aromatics. Comprehensive studies on nucleophilic substitution of hydrogen in arenes (the SNH reactions), including mechanisms, intermediates, mathematic and electrochemical modeling, kinetics, electron-transfer, etc. have shown that this is not the hydride ion, but C–H proton is departed, and this process is facilitated by the presence of an appropriate oxidant or an auxiliary group. The SNH reactions, as a part of the general C–H functionalization concept, change the logic of organic synthesis. They open new opportunities, avoiding incorporation of good leaving groups or other auxiliaries in an aromatic ring, as a prefunctionalization step, thus providing a better correspondence to the principles of green chemistry.
