Abstract
Development of high-performing catalytic materials for selective and mild chemical transformations through adhering to the principles of sustainability remains a central focus in modern chemistry. Herein, we report the template-free assembly of a thermochemically robust covalent organic polymer (COP: 1) from 2,2'-bipyridine-5,5'-dicarbonyl dichloride and 2,4,6-tris(4-aminophenyl)triazine as [2 + 3] structural motifs. The two-dimensional (2D) layered architecture contains carboxamide functionality, delocalized π-cloud, and free pyridyl-N site-decked pores. Such trifunctionalization benefits this polymeric network exhibiting tandem alcohol oxidation-Knoevenagel condensation. In contrast to common metal-based catalysts, 1 represents a one of a kind metal-free alcohol oxidation reaction via extended π-cloud delocalization-mediated free radical pathway, as comprehensively supported from diverse control experiments. In addition to reasonable recyclability and broad substrate scope, the mild reaction condition underscores its applicability in benign synthesis of valuable product benzylidene malononitrile. Integration of 2,2'-bipyridyl units in this 2D COP favors anchoring non-noble metal ions to devise 1-M (M: Ni2+/ Co2+) that demonstrate outstanding electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction in alkaline media with high chronoamperometric stability. Electrochemical parameters of both 1-Co and 1-Ni outperform some benchmark, commercial, as well as a majority of contemporary OER catalysts. Specifically, the overpotential and Tafel slope (280 mV, 58 mV/dec) for 1-Ni is better than 1-Co (360 mV, 78 mV/dec) because of increased charge accumulation as well as a higher number of active sites compared to the former. In addition, the turnover frequency of 1-Ni is found to be 6 times higher than that of 1-Co and ranks among top-tier water oxidation catalysts. The results provide valuable insights in the field of metal-free tandem catalysis as well as promising electrochemical water splitting at the interface of task-specific functionality fuelling in polymeric organic networks.

Abstract
Oxidative cleavage of styrene C═C double bond is accomplished by employing a nitrogen-rich triazine-based microporous organic polymer as an organocatalyst. We report this regioselective reaction as first of its kind with no metal add-ons to afford benzaldehydes up to 92% selectivity via an unusual Wacker-type C═C bond cleavage. Such a reaction pathway is generally observed in the presence of a metal catalyst. This polymer further shows high catalytic efficiency in an anaerobic oxidation reaction of benzyl alcohols into benzaldehydes. The reaction is mediated by a base via the in situ generation of hydride ions. This study is supported by experiments and computational analyses for a free-radical transformation reaction of oxidative C═C bond cleavage of styrenes and a hydride elimination mechanism for the anaerobic oxidation reaction. Essentially, the study unveils protruding applications of metal-free nitrogen-rich porous polymers in organic transformation reactions.

Abstract
Highly-conductive two-dimensional covalent organic framework (COF) displays prominent applications in various fields of science and technology. This paper reports the design and liquid-liquid interface synthesis of a novel Zr-coordinated amide porphyrin-based 2D COF (Zr-amide-Por-based 2D COF). The COF adopts a graphene-like multilayer structure with the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) band gap of 1.6 eV. The ordered multilayer structure of the amide COF was confirmed through a series of characterization techniques, including scanning electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. In particular, the inherent-ordered structure of Zr-amide-Por-based 2D COF with Zr as the catalytically active center confers several distinct advantages to the material, such as high conductivity and high electrocatalysis performance. A molecularly imprinted tetracycline electrochemiluminescence sensor was constructed based on the Zr-amide-Por-based 2D COF, and gate control effect was used as a signal-generation mechanism. Under optimal conditions, the sensor showed a good linear relationship with tetracycline in the concentration range of 5-60 pM, with a detection limit of 2.3 pM. Because the sensor is rapid, cost-efficient, highly sensitive, and specific, it can be considered as a viable platform for veterinary drug residue monitoring.

Abstract
Fingerprints of π-conjugated compounds are ubiquitous in nature and play a crucial part in human existence. For instance, cis-retinal, an endogenous π-conjugated molecule present in the eye, performs a vital role in the function of visual perception. π-Conjugated molecules have also received a great deal of attention owing to their intriguing optical properties and created a surge in optoelectronics. Varieties of π-conjugated molecules/oligomers have been developed and explored for a number of applications such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic field-effect transistors (OFETs), organic photovoltaics (OPVs), and sensors, among others. While the extended π-delocalization in one-dimensional (1D) polymers versus oligomers produce superior optical and electronic properties, further extension of π-delocalization to the second dimension (2D) is expected to give rise even more intriguing properties as revealed by theoretical studies. As a matter of fact, graphene is the best example of 2D-conjugated polymers, but its zero-band-gap behavior is a major impediment for semiconducting applications. In contrast, it was challenging to prepare 2D crystalline polymers until the discovery of boroxine/boronate ester linked covalent organic frameworks (COFs) by Yaghi and co-workers. COFs are a new class of porous crystalline polymers in which organic building blocks are held together by covalent bonds. These polymers exhibit potential applications in gas storage, energy storage, photocatalyst, heterogeneous catalysis, sensors, etc. However, the first π-conjugated COF was realized in 2009 via the introduction of imine linker (-C═N-) between the building blocks. Since then, wide varieties of COFs with various π-delocalization promoting spacers have been developed and explored their electronic and optical properties and pertinent applications. In this review, we will highlight the importance of 2D π-conjugated COFs and their achievements in developing novel functionalities.

Abstract
Solid-state grinding of palladium and copper salts allowed the growth of palladium/copper oxide interface at the zeolite-Y surface. The hybrid nanostructured material was used as reusable heterogeneous catalyst for selective oxidation of various benzyl alcohols. The large surface area provided by the zeolite-Y matrix highly influenced the catalytic activity, as well as the recyclability of the synthesized catalyst. Impregnation of PdO-CuO nanoparticles on zeolite crystallite leads to the generation of mesoporous channel that probably prevented the leaching of the metal-oxide nanoparticles and endorsed high mass transfer. Formation of mesoporous channel at the external surface of zeolite-Y was evident from transmission electron microscopy and surface area analysis. PdO-CuO nanoparticles were found to be within the range of 2-5 nm. The surface area of PdO-CuO-Y catalyst was found to be much lower than parent zeolite-Y. The decrease in surface area as well as the presence of hysteresis loop in the N2-adsoprtion isotherm further suggested successful encapsulation of PdO-CuO nanoparticles via the mesoporous channel formation. The high positive shifting in binding energy in both Pd and Cu was attributed to the influence of zeolite-Y framework on lattice contraction of metal oxides via confinement effect. PdO-CuO-Y catalyst was found to oxidize benzyl alcohol with 99% selectivity. On subjecting to microwave irradiation the same oxidation reaction was found to occur at ambient condition giving same conversion and selectivity.
