Abstract
Using a mixed-ligand approach, we successfully obtained two Mn(II)-based coordination compounds, namely [Mn2(L1)(TBIP)·H2O]n (1) and [Mn2(L2)(NPTA)·H2O]n (2) (where L1 and L2 are 1,4-bis(thiabenzimidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene and 1,2-bis(thiabenzimidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene, H2NPTA is 2-nitroterephthalic acid, and H2TBIP is 5-tert-butylisophthalic acid). Fluorescence performance testing of complexes 1 and 2 showed excellent green and blue fluorescence properties. Based on this, we further prepared HA/CMCS hydrogels using natural polysaccharides hyaluronic acid (HA) and carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) as raw materials and studied their internal structural characteristics using scanning electron microscopy. Using "Duhuo Jisheng Decoction" as a drug model, two metal gel scaffolds loaded with "Duhuo Jisheng Decoction" were prepared, and their potential for treating knee osteoarthritis was evaluated.

Abstract
Two concomitant pseudopolymorph coordination polymers {[Cd2L2(OAc)4]·2DMSO} n (1) and {[CdL(OAc)2]·2.75H2O} n (2) were synthesized by self-assembly of 1,4-bis(4-pyridyl)-2,3-diaza-1,3-butadiene (L) and cadmium acetate in DMSO. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction confirmed that 1D ladder structural motifs exist for pseudopolymorphs 1 and 2 which contain DMSO and water guest molecules, respectively. Our study illustrated the active role of solvent water content in obtaining compound 2. We find that the presence of water as an impurity in the DMSO solvent creates the possibility of formation of concomitant pseudopolymorph coordination polymers which is a unique event. Furthermore, our analyses showed the effect of environmental humidity on the transformation of unstable compound 1. 1D ladder pseudopolymorphic compound 1 could be transformed to guest-free 1D linear compound [CdL(OAc)2(H2O)] n (3') (the powder form of single crystals of 3) through a scarce case of water absorption from air. Also, the crystalline material of coordination polymer 3 was transformed to coordination polymer 2 through the dissolution-recrystallization structural transformation process in DMF or DMSO. Our study clarified that the amount of water in the reaction container can control the formation of one of the compounds 2 or 3. In the presence of a significant amount of water, compound 3 (coordinated water) will be produced, whereas if a small amount of water is present, compound 2 (uncoordinated water) is prepared as an exclusive product.

Abstract
The synthesis and crystal structures of three heteroleptic complexes of Zn(II) and Cd(II) with pyridine ligands (ethyl nicotinate (EtNic), N,N-diethylnicotinamide (DiEtNA), and 2-amino-5-picoline (2Ampic) are presented. The complex [Zn(EtNic)2Cl2] (1) showed a distorted tetrahedral coordination geometry with two EtNic ligand units and two chloride ions as monodentate ligands. Complexes [Zn(DiEtNA)(H2O)4(SO4)]·H2O (2) and [Cd(OAc)2(2Ampic)2] (3) had hexa-coordinated Zn(II) and Cd(II) centers. In the former, the Zn(II) was coordinated with three different monodentate ligands, which were DiEtNA, H2O, and SO42−. In 3, the Cd(II) ion was coordinated with two bidentate acetate ions and two monodentate 2Ampic ligand units. The supramolecular structures of the three complexes were elucidated using Hirshfeld analysis. In 1, the most important interactions that governed the molecular packing were O···H (15.5–15.6%), Cl···H (13.6–13.8%), Cl···C (6.3%), and C···H (10.3–10.6%) contacts. For complexes 2 and 3, the H···H, O···H, and C···H contacts dominated. Their percentages were 50.2%, 41.2%, and 7.1%, respectively, for 2 and 57.1%, 19.6%, and 15.2%, respectively, for 3. Only in complex 3, weak π-π stacking interactions between the stacked pyridines were found. The Zn(II) natural charges were calculated using the DFT method to be 0.8775, 1.0559, and 1.2193 for complexes 1–3, respectively. A predominant closed-shell character for the Zn–Cl, Zn–N, Zn–O, Cd–O, and Cd–N bonds was also concluded from an atoms in molecules (AIM) study.

Abstract
There has been broad attention to the recognition and detection of ions and organic small molecules due to their essential roles in environmental systems. However, dual-functional probes have seldom been developed for sensing organic constituents and lanthanide ions. A new 3D pillared Zn(ii)-organic framework [Zn3(L)(DCTP)3]n (1) (L = 1,4-di(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-yl)butane and H2DCTP = 2,5-dichloroterephthalic acid) was hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized, and features a unique 3D 4,4,4,6-connected framework containing approximately 9.99 × 9.78 Å2 cubic channels. 1 displays excellent thermal and pH stability and can act as a novel "turn-on" fluorescent probe for highly selectively sensitizing Tb3+ ions through an "antenna effect". Furthermore, 1 is a dual-response fluorescent sensor for monitoring acetylacetone and Tb3+ ions with rapid response times (within 1 min), low limits of detection (LOD) (5.02 × 10-6/1.15 × 10-8 M, separately) and great anti-interference ability and recyclability towards the analytes. The related sensing mechanisms for detecting analytes are also investigated in detail.

Abstract
Three new supramolecular coordination polymers, namely [Zn(1,3-BDC)(HL)]n (Polymer 1), [Zn3(1,3,5-BTC)2(HL)2(H2O)2]n (Polymer 2), and [Zn9(5-SO3-1,3-BDC)2(L)8(OH)4]n (Polymer 3), were synthesized under solvothermal conditions, based on 1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridin-3-amine (HL) along with 1,3-benzenedicarboxylate (1,3-BDC) and its derivatives, such as 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate (1,3,5-BTC) and 5-sulfo-1,3-benzenedicarboxylate (5-SO3-1,3-BDC). Polymers 1–3 were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Polymer 1 exhibited a two-dimensional (2D) 4-connected sql net. The neighboring 2D nets were further linked into a 3D supramolecular network by hydrogen-bonding interactions. Polymer 2 displayed a 3D (4, 4, 4)-connected network, which was further stabilized by R22(14) and S(9) hydrogen-bonding rings along with π–π interactions. The 2D sheet structure of Polymer 3 was constructed by novel quasi-linear nonanuclear Zn(II) units, which further extended into a 3D supramolecular structure by hydrogen-bonding interactions. The solid-state photoluminescence properties of Polymers 1–3 were also investigated.

Ultratrace and robust visual sensor of Cd 2+ ions based on the size-dependent optical properties of Au@g-CNQDs nanoparticles in mice models. Biosens Bioelectron 2017; 103:87-93. Abstract
Visual inspection is expected as an ideal technique, which can directly and conveniently detect heavy metal ions by observing the color change. Insensitivity of detecting weakly colored heavy transition metal ions and low adsorptivity of metal ions on nanoparticle surface are two main factors hindering the application of visual detection in heavy metal ions detection. Herein, we demonstrated an operational colorimetric sensor based on the color dependence of nanoparticles aggregation to selective and facile detect weakly colored transition heavy metal Cd2+ ions that have been considered as the origin of the "Itai-itai" disease. Uniform colloidal 15nm graphite-like nitride doped carbon quantum dots-capped gold nanoparticle (Au@g-CNQDs) was successfully prepared, wherein the existence of numerous heptazine, carboxyl and hydroxyl groups on the nanoparticle's surface strengthened adsorption of the Cd2+ ions on the surface of Au@g-CNQDs through the "cooperative effect". As a consequence, without expensive and intricate exogenous indicators or other special additives, the Cd2+ ions could sensitively and quickly captured to detect at ultra-low concentration within 30s by the naked-eye. Under the optimal conditions, the Cd2+ ions sensor possesses good analytical performances with a wide linear range of 0.01-3.0μM and a detection limit of 10nM (S/N = 3). Moreover, the biodistribution and aggregation of Cd2+ ions were detected effectively in mice organ tissues suggesting its great potential use for real-word applications.

Abstract
Zn(II)/Cd(II)-based dual ligand Luminescent Metal-Organic Frameworks (LMOFs) {[M(ATA)(L)]}n·xH2O (1) and (2) were synthesized by versatile synthetic routes, viz., diffusion of precursor solutions, conventional reflux, and green mechanochemical (grinding) reactions from bipyridyl-based Schiff base, (E)-N'-(pyridin-4-ylmethylene)isonicotinohydrazide (L) and amino functionalized 2-aminoterephthalic acid (H2ATA) as linkers. Chemical and thermal stability, phase purity, and characterization of both LMOFs were established by various analytical methods. SXRD analysis revealed the 3D framework is composed of two-dimensional [M(ATA)]n nets doubly pillared by L through the terminal nitrogen atom. Selective and sensitive detection of chromate anions (CrO42-/Cr2O72-) and Fe3+/Pd2+ cations in the aqueous phase by fluorescent quenching of the LMOFs 1 and 2 has been established. Competitive experiments in the presence of interfering anions/cations with 1 and 2 revealed no major change in the quenching efficiency. The observed limits of detection (LOD) values by 1 for CrO42-/Cr2O72- were 0.25 μM (48 ppb)/0.43 μM (126 ppb) and for Fe3+/Pd2+ were 3.76 μM (0.61 ppm)/0.20 μM (35 ppb), whereas LOD values by 2 were 0.18 μM (35 ppb)/0.19 μM (55 ppb) and 1.77 μM (0.29 ppm)/0.10 μM (18 ppb), respectively. Simple fluorescent-based test paper strips have been developed for reliable and visual detection of the mentioned analytes in practical applications. The present investigation clearly demonstrates selective detection of CrO42-/Cr2O72- and Fe3+/Pd2+ in aqueous media, and the probable mechanism for the quenching phenomena based on structural aspects has also been discussed.
