Abstract
A case of organic-inorganic hybridized phosphotungstate modified using aromatic organophosphonic acid, K4Na4H11[KCo2(H2O)10P4W24O92{(PhPO)2}]·48H2O (1), was successfully synthesized in conventional aqueous solution. The prominent structural feature is that the total structure of [KP4W24O92{(PhPO)2}]23- resembles a V-shaped structure, which was stabilized by two [Co(H2O)5]2+ ions. Furthermore, it can be connected into a three-dimensional mesh structure using K+ ions. Surprisingly, 1 possesses a remarkably high proton conductivity of 1.59 × 10-2 S cm-1 at 95% RH and 318 K probably due to the fact that its structure contains large amounts of lattice water molecules, coordination water molecules and counter cations.

Abstract
Exploring a novel photocatalyst for catalytic oxidation of toluene is a sustainable strategy for energy conversion in times of an energy crisis. However, designing an effective photocatalyst for the conversion of toluene remains challenging. Herein, a novel organic monophosphonate-modified high nucleus Cu-incorporated polyoxotungstate, K8H33[{Cu0.5(H2O)4}{Cu2(O3PCH2COO)(1,4,9-α-P2W15O56)}]4·Cl·60H2O (1), has been intentionally synthesized by a self-assembly process utilizing conventional aqueous method. It reveals that 1 contains a polyanion of [{Cu0.5(H2O)}4{Cu2(O3PCH2COO)(1,4,9-α-P2W15O56)}]440- composed of four Dawson-type {1,4,9-α-P2W15} subunits, forming an oval-shaped structure and further connecting into a three-dimensional (3D) framework by lateral {Cu(H2O)4}2+. Interestingly, the trivacant {1,4,9-α-P2W15} subunits were observed in the organophosphonate acid-functionalized polyoxometalates for the first time. Notably, 1 exhibits a wonderful performance in catalytic oxidation of the recalcitrant C(sp3)-H bond of toluene to benzoic acid with a conversion as high as 97% under visible light utilizing O2 as an oxidant.

Abstract
By integration of {Ln(H2O)6}3+ into organophosphonate-based polyoxometalates, three Ln-containing organophosphonate-functionalized polyoxomolybdates Na1.5H1.5[{Ln(H2O)6}2{(Mo3O8)(O3PC(C3H6NH3)OPO3)}4]·(CH3CO2)·43H2O (Ln = Eu (1), Tb (2), and Dy (3)) are successfully prepared and systematically characterized. The X-ray crystallography analyses display complexes 1-3 crystallize in the C2/c space group of the monoclinic system and compose several distinctive tetramer windmill-like compounds that further assemble into two-dimensional (2D) frameworks associated with the {Ln(H2O)6}3+ core. The fluorescence spectra of 1-3 show red, green, and chartreuse emissions, respectively, originating in the typical f-f transitions of Ln3+ ions. More interestingly, complex 3 shows the field-induced single-molecule magnet (SMM) properties, resulting from the fact that [(Mo3O8)4{O3PC(C3H6NH3)OPO3}4]8- offers excellent magnetic isolation for Dy3+ ions by the nearest Dy1···Dy2 distance of 11.207 Å. The study demonstrates that the incorporation of {Ln(H2O)6}3+ into organophosphonate-based polyoxomolybdates is an effective synthetic strategy in implementing late-model opto-magnetic materials.

Abstract
Five novel lanthanide-substituted polyoxomolybdates (NH4)5Na3H2[{Ln(H2O)7}2{Mo5O15(1,4-O3PCH2C6H4CH2PO3)}4]·nH2O [Ln = Tb3+ (1), Ho3+ (2), Er3+ (3), Tm3+ (4), Yb3+ (5); n = 33, 32, 41, 30, 47] have been prepared in a conventional aqueous solution reaction of ammonium molybdate with Ln3+ ions and p-xylyenediphosphonic acid. Crystal structure analyses reveal that 1-5 are isomorphic. The prominent architecture characteristic is that their structural units consist of a tetrameric cyclic-shaped [{Mo5O15(1,4-O3PCH2C6H4CH2PO3)}4]16- segment stabilized by two [Ln(H2O)7]3+ cations, which are connected to propagate one-dimensional chain by Ln3+ ions. As is known, compounds 1-5 stand for the first Ln-substituted aromatic-bisphosphonate-functionalized polyoxomolybdates. The solid-state photoluminescence measurement of 1 has been performed at ambient temperature, and it displayed the characteristic emissions of Tb ions based on its 4f-4f transitions. In addition, the magnetic properties of 1-5 compounds show that they all exhibit anti-ferromagnetic interactions.

Abstract
A series of rare earth complexes containing (α-PW12O40)3- and PO ligand are synthesized by water bath in 70 °C, [Ln(OPPh3)4(H2O)3](PW12O40)·4CH3CN (Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Ho 1-7) (OPPh3 = Triphenylphosphine oxide, {PW12} = phosphotungstic acid). The precise structures are confirmed by X-ray single crystal diffraction and the result shows all complexes are isostructural. Complexes 1-7 are fully characterized by PXRD, FT-IR, TGA, UV diffuse reflectance spectra and terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS). Complex 3 exhibits the highest photocatalytic degradation efficiency for methylene blue (MB) in this series of complexes. The experimental results showed that the photodegradation efficiency can remain constant at the level of 95% after five consecutive cycles. The photocatalytic reaction kinetics and mechanism of complexes were investigated. Additionally, complexes also exhibit photocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity. THz-TDS was used to characterize the complexes and its raw materials, the characteristic peaks of OPPh3 (broad peak at 1.20 THz) and phosphotungstic acid (sharp peaks at 0.23, 0.32 THz) were obtained.

Abstract
The crown-shaped organotriphosphonate-modified 36-molybdenum cluster (NH4)18Na7H11[Zn(H2O)TeMo6O21{N(CH2PO3)3}]6·23H2O (1) has been synthesized, which is the largest zinc-containing organophosphonate-based polyoxometalate to date. Compound 1 was prepared in buffer solution (pH 5.5) with heptamolybdate and amino trimethylene phosphonic acid (ATMP) as the organic ligand. The polyanion constructed from a hexmeric assembly of [Zn(H2O){TeMo6O21}{N(CH2PO3)3}]6- subunits has been fully investigated by a few characterization methods. In this work, we discovered that 1 exhibited reversible photochromism and it changed from white to reddish brown upon UV irradiation. In addition, compound 1, as a catalyst, can oxidize sulfides to sulfoxides, showing a high yield/conversion and a good selectivity.

Abstract
A novel organodiphosphonate-based telluromolybdate cluster, (NH4)6Na3H13[TeMo10O37(CoMo2O6L)4]·11H2O [1; L = (O3P)2C(O)(CH2)3NH2], has been successfully synthesized by a simple one-pot aqueous reaction. Intriguingly, the [TeMo10O37]10- subunit with tetrahedral geometry of TeO4 is observed in the organophosphonate-functionalized polyoxometalates for the first time. Compound 1 was prepared in a buffer solution (pH = 5.5) with alendronic acid (Ale) and (NH4)6Mo7O24·4H2O as raw materials. The polyanion [TeMo10O37(CoMo2O6L)4]22- was constructed from four {Mo2O6L} subunits encapsulating an interesting Te-Mo heterometal subunit [TeMo10O37]10- through four CoO6 octahedra and has been fully characterized by routine techniques. In addition, compound 1, as a heterogeneous catalyst, shows good conversion (92%) and high selectivity (99%) for Knoevenagel condensation reaction.

Abstract
A three-dimensional (3D) Silverton-type polyoxomolybdate (POMo) with the formula of NH4{Mn4[PrMo12O42]}·18H2O (1) was successfully isolated and well characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, X-ray powder diffraction pattern, infrared spectrum, thermogravimetric and elemental analyses. The inorganic building block {PrMo12O42} has formed 3D frameworks via the {MnO6} linker. The excitation of compound 1 in solid state at 375 nm displays red emission. Moreover, variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate that the magnetic behavior in compound 1 is dominated by antiferromagnetic interactions.

Abstract
A reduced polyoxovanadate functionalized with bisphosphonate molecules was synthesized and used to prepare in one step hybrid organic-inorganic polyoxometalate decorated gold nanoparticles. These new composites were shown to strongly inhibit P. aeruginosa and S. epidermidis biofilm growth, with the three components constituting the nanoparticles (Au0 core, vanadium and alendronate) acting synergistically.

Abstract
Functionalization of polyoxotungstates with organoarsonate coligands enabling surface decoration was explored for the triangular cluster architectures of the composition [CoII9(H2O)6(OH)3(p-RC6H4AsVO3)2(α-PV2WVI15O56)3]25- ({Co9(P2W15)3}, R = H or NH2), isolated as Na25[Co9(OH)3(H2O)6(C6H5AsO3)2(P2W15O56)3]·86H2O (Na-1; triclinic, P1̅, a = 25.8088(3) Å, b = 25.8336(3) Å, c = 27.1598(3) Å, α = 78.1282(11)°, β = 61.7276(14)°, γ = 60.6220(14)°, V = 13888.9(3) Å3, Z = 2) and Na25[Co9(OH)3(H2O)6(H2NC6H4AsO3)2(P2W15O56)3]·86H2O (Na-2; triclinic, P1̅, a = 14.2262(2) Å, b = 24.8597(4) Å, c = 37.9388(4) Å, α = 81.9672(10)°, β = 87.8161(10)°, γ = 76.5409(12)°, V = 12920.6(3) Å3, Z = 2). The axially oriented para-aminophenyl groups in 2 facilitate the formation of self-assembled monolayers on gold surfaces and thus provide a viable molecular platform for charge transport studies of magnetically functionalized polyoxometalates. The title systems were isolated and characterized in the solid state, in aqueous solutions, and on metal surfaces. Using conducting tip atomic force microscopy, the energies of {Co9(P2W15)3} frontier molecular orbitals in the surface-bound state were found to directly correlate with cyclic voltammetry data in aqueous solution.
