Abstract
An iodoform-promoted functionalization of ether with secondary sulfonyl amides under visible-light irradiation was developed toward synthesis of hemiaminal skeleton with good to excellent isolated yields. The characterization of the isolated ether and iodoform complex revealed regioselective hydrogen atom transfer to initiate carbon radical formation and enabled the amination reaction with the sulfonamide.

Abstract
A TEMPO-promoted method was developed for the synthesis of symmetric bis-N-Mannich bases via sequential activation of two α,α'-amino C(sp3)-H bonds of N,N-dimethylanilines under mild conditions. This methodology was further extended for monoimidation of α-amino-functionalized methylanilines to give unsymmetric N-Mannich bases in good to high yields. Several control experiments were performed, and the coupling reaction outcomes indicated that the oxoammonium (TEMPO+) species is involved in the reaction.

Abstract
Via difunctionalization of the α- and β-sites of cyclic ethers, we herein demonstrate a new synthetic method for the efficient construction of novel fluorinated γ-amino acid esters by employing a CoBr2/m-CPBA catalyst system. Several cyclic ethers were transformed in combination with a vast range of amines and ethyl trifluoropyruvate into the desired products under mild conditions, making this method a practical platform to enrich the library of fluorinated amino acid derivatives from cost-effective and readily available feedstocks.

Abstract
We report here a direct allenylation reaction of inactive cyclic ethers. The reaction proceeds through a copper-catalyzed 1,4-difunctionalization of 1,3-enynes, with cyano group installed at the allenes simultaneously. This methodology shows a broad functional group compatibility to 1,3-enynes. Diversified allene-modified cyclic ether derivatives were synthesized with high regioselectivity under mild conditions.

Abstract
The direct use structurally simple ketones as α-ketone radical sources for α-C(sp3)-H functionalization is a sustainable and powerful approach for constructing complex and multifunctional chemical scaffolds with diverse applications. The reactions of α-ketone radicals with alkenes, alkynes, enynes, imides, and imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines have broadened the structural diversity and complexity of ketones. Through chosen illustrative examples, we outline the recent progress in the development of methods that enable the radical α-C(sp3)-H functionalization of ketones, with an emphasis on radical initiation systems and possible mechanisms of the transformations. The application of these strategies is illustrated by the synthesis of several biologically active molecules and drug molecules. Further subdivision is based on substrate type and reaction type.

Abstract
A C-C bond forming amide synthesis through direct C-H aminocarbonylation of N-heteroarenes with isocyanides was developed. The reaction was mediated by an inorganic persulfate salt under transition metal-free conditions. Mechanistic studies suggested a radical pathway for this reaction without the participation of H2O and O2. This method also showed merits of substrate availability, easy operation and atom economy. It provided an efficient route for straightforward synthesis of N-heteroaryl amides.

Abstract
N-Mannich bases are an important structure in various functional molecules. A new protocol to synthesize N-Mannich bases was established through electrochemical external-oxidant-free C(sp3 )-H/N-H cross-coupling with hydrogen evolution. Various N-methylanilines were explored in this transformation. Moreover, simple amides, heteroatom-containing amides, and succinimides were well tolerated in moderate-to-good yields. In addition, the electrochemical dehydrogenative C(sp3 )-H/N-H cross-coupling could be scaled up to 5 mmol. By using triethyl phosphite as trapping agent, the phosphorylation product was detected. At the same time, kinetic isotope effect experiments showed that the cleavage of the C-H bond is the rate-limiting step.

Abstract
Hemiaminal ether skeletons (HESs) are important backbones generally found in organic compounds. Compared to traditional functional group transformations, strategies for the C-H functionalization of alkyl ethers to construct HESs have drawn much attention in the past decade. In this review, we focus on the recent progress in developing various pathways to construct HESs via the direct functionalization of alkyl ethers, including: (a) the transition-metal-catalyzed nitrene insertion pathway, (b) the transition-metal-free organonitrenoid insertion pathway,

Abstract
Novel ring-opening reactions are achieved employing benzofuroxan as a new type of iminating or aminating reagent. These diverse transformations give access to three types of molecular scaffolds, N-aryl dimethylsulfoximines, methanesulfonamides, and hemiaminal ethers, which are important structural motifs in organic and medicinal chemistry. The procedures feature solvent-involved reactions, easily available starting materials, operational simplicity, high atom economy, and the potential further transformation of nitro group.
