Abstract
A visible-light-induced external catalyst-free decarboxylation of dioxazolones was realized for the bond formation of N=P and N-C bonds to access phosphinimidic amides and ureas. Various phosphinimidic amides and ureas (47 examples) were synthesized with high yields (up to 98%) by this practical strategy in the presence of the system's ppm Fe.

Abstract
Metal-catalyzed C-N bond formation reactions via acylnitrene transfer have recently attracted much attention, but direct detection of the proposed acylnitrenoid/acylimido M(NCOR) (R=aryl or alkyl) species in these reactions poses a formidable challenge. Herein, we report on Ru(NCOR) intermediates in C-N bond formation catalyzed by [RuIV (Por)Cl2 ]/N3 COR, a catalytic method applicable to aziridine/oxazoline formation from alkenes, amination of substituted indoles, α-amino ketone formation from silyl enol ethers, amination of C(sp3 )-H bonds, and functionalization of natural products and carbohydrate derivatives (up to 99 % yield). Experimental studies, including HR-ESI-MS and EPR measurements, coupled with DFT calculations, lend evidence for the formulation of the Ru(NCOR) acylnitrenoids as a RuV -imido species.

Abstract
2-Fluoro-5-(trifluoromethyl)aniline was found to be a suitable monodentate transient directing group (MonoTDG) to enable Ru(II)-catalyzed intermolecular direct ortho-C(sp2)-H imidation of benzaldehydes. N-Tosyloxyphthalimide was used as an alternative azide-free amidation reagent to achieve high efficiency and good functional group tolerance. Moreover, the reaction could be enlarged to gram scale, and the amidated product could be readily converted into useful quinazoline and fused isoindolinone scaffolds by one-step derivatization.

Abstract
The N-acyloxyamides were employed as effective N-acyl nitrene precursors in reactions with thioethers under the catalysis of a commercially available Ru(II) complex, from which a variety of sulfimides were synthesized efficiently and mildly. If an allyl group is contained in the thioether precursor, the [2,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement of the sulfimide occurs simultaneously and the N-allyl-N-(thio)amides were obtained as the final products. Preliminary mechanistic studies indicated that the Ru-nitrenoid species should be a key intermediate in the transformation.

Abstract
A cobalt(III)-catalyzed C-8 selective C-H amidation of quinoline N-oxide using dioxazolone as an amidating reagent under mild conditions is disclosed. The reaction proceeds efficiently with excellent functional group compatibility. The utility of the current method is demonstrated by gram scale synthesis of C-8 amide quinoline N-oxide and by converting this amidated product into functionalized quinolines. Furthermore, the developed catalytic method is also applicable for C-7 amidation of N-pyrimidylindolines and ortho-amidation of benzamides.

Abstract
An efficient and benign iron-catalyzed room-temperature method was developed for direct sequential C(sp3)-H/N-H annulation to construct pyrroloindole scaffolds. This strategy features cheap and readily available raw materials and mild room-temperature reaction conditions and provides a green and practical method for the one-pot rapid synthesis of a wide range of diversely functionalized pyrrolo[1,2-α]indoles.

Abstract
3-R-1,4,2-dioxazol-5-ones are a class of compounds that are increasingly finding diverse uses, including as regioselective amidation reagents and as electrolyte additives that enable long cycling lifetimes in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Conventional methods for their synthesis tend to be slow and time-consuming, requiring isolation and thorough drying of a hydroxamic acid intermediate, followed by a separate cyclization step with N,N′-carbonyldiimidazole. Furthermore, the cyclization is typically performed in dichloromethane, an environmentally harmful solvent. This work demonstrates a new one-pot method for the synthesis of these compounds that eliminates the need for isolation of the intermediate or the use of halogenated solvents. The reaction is mainly performed using environmentally benign ethyl acetate and a relatively small amount of N,N-dimethylformamide. The reaction proceeds readily at room temperature and requires no expensive metal catalysts to function.

Abstract
The direct photocatalyzed para-selective CAr-H difluoroalkylation of aromatic aldehyde derivatives has been accomplished using a newly explored catalytic system. In addition, when using para-substituted benzaldehydes as substrates, ortho-selective CAr-H difluoroalkylation was also accomplished. It is worth noting that all the above site-selectivity is opposite to traditional Friedel-Crafts reactions of aromatic aldehydes. The preliminary mechanistic investigations indicate that an electrophilic difluoroalkyl radical is involved in the catalytic cycle.

Abstract
An efficient and convenient cobalt-catalyzed ortho-C(sp2)-H amidation of benzaldehydes employing dioxazolones as the aminating reagent has been developed. The key feature of this protocol is the use of green and economic earth-abundant metals cobalt as the catalyst with the p-chloroaniline as the transient directing group. Further application of our approach was demonstrated by the synthesis of C1r serine protease inhibitor 45 and elastase inhibitor 49.

Abstract
An efficient Rh-catalyzed oxidative C-H activation/annulation of 2-arylquinoxalines with internal alkynes is described using Cu(OAc)2·H2O and AgBF4 to afford a diverse variety of substituted quarternary ammonium salts at room temperature. The mechanism of the protocol is established on the basis of isolation of the 5-membered rhodacycle intermediate and kinetic isotope studies. The mild reaction conditions, substrate scope and functional group diversity are the salient practical features.
