Abstract
Direct sulfamidation of 1,4-naphthoquinones using N-methoxy sulfonamides under metal-free conditions in water was developed. Base-mediated nucleophilic addition of N-methoxy sulfonamides, followed by N-O bond cleavage allowed the formation of enesulfonamides. Further, the synthesis of pyrrolonaphthoquinones proved the practicability of the current approach.

Abstract
Described herein is an imidazole ring formation strategy for the synthesis of axially chiral N-arylbenzimidazoles by means of chiral phosphoric acid catalysis. Two sets of conditions were developed to transform two classes of 2-naphthylamine derivatives into structurally diverse N-arylbenzimidazole atropisomers with excellent chemo- and regioselectivity as well as high levels of enantiocontrol. It is worth reflecting on the unique roles played by the nitroso group in this domino reaction. It functions as a linchpin by first offering an electrophilic site (N) for the initial C-N bond formation while the resulting amine performs the nucleophilic addition to form the second C-N bond. Additionally, it could facilitate the final oxidative aromatization as an oxidant. The atropisomeric products could be conveniently elaborated to a series of axially chiral derivatives, enabling the exploitation of N-arylbenzimidazoles for their potential utilities in asymmetric catalysis.

Abstract
An unprecedented catalyst-free three-component reaction to synthesize isoxazolidine from easily accessible haloalkyne, nitrosoarene and maleimide was developed. This reaction was proposed to proceed via a 1,2-halo migration and [3 + 2] cycloaddition cascade, providing a new reaction pattern of alkyne and nitroso containing species wherein a new type of nitrone was generated. Besides, the reaction conditions were efficient and environmentally benign, enabling the formation of various bioactivity-related isoxazolidines.

Abstract
A Lewis acid catalyzed annulation reaction via arene functionalization of nitrosoarenes and C-C cleavage of (epoxy)styrene to provide arylquinolines is reported. The Lewis acid catalyst altered the annulation pattern providing arylquinolines instead of oxazolidines. The reaction with styrene resulted in a mixture of 2,4-diarylquinoline and 4-arylquinoline, while only 3-arylquinoline was formed from the reaction of epoxystyrene.

Abstract
Traditionally, amines react with nitrosoarenes to provide the corresponding imines or azo compounds. Herein, we report an acid mediated annulation reaction of aliphatic amines and nitrosoarenes to provide indole derivatives. The elusive direct annulation of aliphatic amines and nitrosoarenes via simultaneous C-C and C-N bond formation was achieved under metal free conditions. This conceptually novel method for indole synthesis does not require pre-functionalization steps for the new C-C and C-N bond formation. The method has been applied for an elegant synthesis of nor-neocryptolepine and neocryptolepine.

Abstract
This work describes gold-catalyzed aromatizations of 3-ene-5-siloxy-1,6-diynes with nitrosoarenes to form 4-hydroxy-3-aminobenzaldehyde derivatives, manifesting the use of nitrosoarenes as 1,4-N,O-functionalization sources. Various 3-ene-5-siloxy-1,6-diynes in benzoid and nonbenzoid types are applicable substrates. A series of 18O- and 2H-labeling experiments have been conducted to exclude gold-π-alkyne intermediates. We postulate a mechanism of dual gold catalysis involving initial formation of gold-π-alkynylgold species that activates a 1,5-hydrogen shift to form reactive 1,6-dipoles, thus furnishing intramolecular Michael-type reactions with nitrosonium electrophiles.
