Abstract
Three copper iodide coordination polymer (CuI-p-DPA) isomers were prepared from the fluorescent organic ligand p-DPA and cuprous iodide (CuI) under different solvothermal conditions, which exhibited quenched fluorescence behaviors after forming coordination polymers (CPs). These CuI-p-DPA isomers showed discrepant fluorescence responses to thiophanate-methyl (TM). Among these CuI-p-DPA isomers, α-CuI-p-DPA exhibited the maximum fluorescence enhancement after its incubation with TM in aqueous solution. The fluorescence enhancement mechanism was that TM competed with the ligand p-DPA to coordinate with CuI clusters, and then α-CuI-p-DPA released p-DPA into the solution and induced fluorescence enhancement. The present detection method possesses the advantages of good selectivity, high sensitivity, short response time, and strong anti-interference ability with a linear range of 0.5-100 μM and a detection limit of 0.01 μM. This study not only reveals that the spatial structures of CPs play an important role in the fluorescence response ability, but also provide a new fluorescence signal-on analysis method to rapidly and sensitively determine the pesticide residue for TM.

Abstract
The design and construction of a sensor that can sensitively and conveniently recognize metal ions are essential for the treatment of industrial wastewater. In this work, {[Cd4(HL)2(pyp)2(H2O)2]·2H2O·1.5Diox}n (1) was synthesized under solvothermal condition and presented a 2D 3,5-connected layered network with the point symbol of {3.4.5} {32.4.5.62.74}, which was coated on the surface of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) to construct a novel paper sensor (1@PVDF). Meanwhile, the stability of 1@PVDF was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). In addition, fluorescence sensing experiments of 1@PVDF sensor for cations in aqueous system indicated that it has high sensitivity for sensing Fe3+ ions with the detection limit (DL) of 4.0 × 10-8 M. By the characterization of PXRD, UV-vis spectra, ICP, XPS, time-resolved excited-state decay measurements, the sensing mechanisms of 1@PVDF for Fe3+ ions were attributed to the competitive absorption and interaction between 1 and Fe3+. And the sensing process of 1@PVDF for Fe3+ ions was static in the Fe3+ concentration of 0 to 0.05 mM. In addition, the binding energies of Fe3+ and Zn2+ with the framework of 1 were calculated by density functional theory (DFT), which further proved that there was an obvious interaction between Fe3+ and the uncoordinated O atom in 1. Based on the thin film technology, a portable and convenient paper-based probe has been developed for practical applications.

Abstract
Reactions of ZnSO4∙7H2O, N-(pyridin-3-ylmethyl)-4-(pyridin-4-yl)-1,8-naphthalimide (NI-mbpy-34), and 5-bromobenzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid (Br-1,3-H2bdc) afforded a luminescent coordination polymer, [Zn(Br-1,3-bdc)(NI-mbpy-34)]n (1), under hydro(solvo)thermal conditions. Single-crystal X-ray structure analysis revealed that 1 features a three-dimensional (3-D) 2-fold interpenetrating cds (or CdSO4) net topology with the point symbol of (65·8), where the Zn(II) centers are considered as 4-connected square-planar nodes. X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) patterns and thermogravimetric (TG) analysis confirmed that 1 shows high chemical and thermal stabilities. Notably, 1 displayed solvent dependent photoluminescence properties; the fluorescence intensity and emission maximum of 1 in different solvent suspensions varied when a solvent was changed. Furthermore, the H2O suspension of 1 exhibited blue fluorescence emission and thus can be treated as a selective and sensitive fluorescent probe for turn-on detection of Cr3+ cations through absorbance caused enhancement (ACE) mechanism and turn-off detection of Cr2O72−/CrO42− anions through collaboration of the absorption competition and energy transfer process, with limit of detection (LOD) as low as μM scale.

Abstract
Abstract
In this work, a new type of zinc(II) coordination polymer {[Zn(HIDC)(BBM)0.5]·H2O}
n
(Zn-CP) was synthesized using 4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic acid (H3IDC) and 2,2-(1,4-butanediyl)bis-1,3-benzimidazole (BBM) under hydrothermal conditions. Its structure has been characterized by infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The Zn(II) ion is linked by the HIDC2− ligand to form a zigzag chain by chelating and bridging, and then linked by BBM to form a layered network structure. Adjacent layers are further connected by hydrogen bond interaction to form a 3-D supramolecular framework. The solid-state fluorescence performance of Zn-CP shows that compared with free H3IDC ligand, its fluorescence intensity is significantly enhanced.

Abstract
Through a dual-ligand synthetic approach, five isoreticular primitive cubic (pcu)-type pillared-layer metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), [Zn2 (dicarboxylate)2 (NI-bpy-44)]⋅x DMF⋅y H2 O, in which dicarboxylate=1,4-bdc (1), Br-1,4-bdc (2), NH2 -1,4-bdc (3), 2,6-ndc (4), and bpdc (5), have been engineered. MOFs 1-5 feature twofold degrees of interpenetration and have open pores of 27.0, 33.6, 36.8, 52.5, and 62.1 %, respectively. Nitrogen adsorption isotherms of activated MOFs 1'-5' at 77 K all displayed type I adsorption behavior, suggesting their microporous nature. Although 1' and 3'-5' exhibited type I adsorption isotherms of CO2 at 195 K, MOF 2' showed a two-step gate-opening sorption isotherm of CO2 . Furthermore, MOF 3' also had a significant influence of amine functions on CO2 uptake at high temperature due to the CO2 -framework interactions. MOFs 1-5 revealed solvent-dependent fluorescence properties; their strong blue-light emissions in aqueous suspensions were efficiently quenched by trace amounts of nitrobenzene (NB), with limits of detection of 4.54, 5.73, 1.88, 2.30, and 2.26 μm, respectively, and Stern-Volmer quenching constants (Ksv ) of 2.93×103 , 1.79×103 , 3.78×103 , 4.04×103 , and 3.21×103 m-1 , respectively. Of particular note, the NB-included framework, NB@3, provided direct evidence of the binding sites, which showed strong host-guest π-π and hydrogen-bonding interactions beneficial for donor-acceptor electron transfer and resulting in fluorescence quenching.

Abstract
Gadolinium metal-organic frameworks (Gd-MOFs) and Eu-doped Gd-MOFs have been synthesized through a one-pot green approach using commercially available reagents. The 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid (H2-BDC) and 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid (H2-NDC) were chosen as ditopic organic linkers to build the 3D structure of the network. The Gd-MOFs were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), FT-IR spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and N2 adsorption-desorption analysis. The Gd-MOF structures were attributed comparing the XRD patterns, supported by the FT-IR spectra, with data reported in the literature for Ln-MOFs of similar lanthanide ionic radius. FE-SEM characterization points to the effect of the duration of the synthesis to a more crystalline and organized structure, with grain dimensions increasing upon increasing reaction time. The total surface area of the MOFs has been determined from the application of the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method. The study allowed us to correlate the processing conditions and ditopic linker dimension to the network surface area. Both Gd-MOF and Eu-doped Gd-MOF have been tested for sensing of the inorganic ions such as Fe3+ and Cr2O72-.

Abstract
Four new praseodymium(III) metal-organic compounds varying in dimensionality from 0D to 3D have been designed and synthesized based on N-heterocyclic polycarboxylic acids, including pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (H2pydc) and pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid (H2pzdc). Altering the concentration of piperazine (pip, ancillary ligand) enables control over the dimensionality of the compound by switching between the 0D [H2pip][Hpip][Pr(pydc)3]·4H2O (I) and the 1D {[Pr(pydc)(Hpydc)(H2O)2]·4H2O}n (II) coordination polymer (CP). Upon replacing H2pydc with H2pzdc, CP II is converted to the 2D CP [Pr(pzdc)(Hpzdc)(H2O)3]n (III) and using the metalloligand [Zn(Hpzdc)2(H2O)2]2-, the 3D heterometallic CP {[Pr2Zn(pzdc)4(H2O)6]·2H2O}n (IV) is formed. Compound IV shows high stability in the absence of uncoordinated solvent molecules and is stable up to 400°C, even in the presence of humidity. Therefore, IV was utilized for iodine adsorption in the vapour phase and in the presence of humidity. The results confirm the remarkable potential of IV for reversible adsorption of iodine vapour.
