Abstract
The application of composite materials as catalysts for the oxidation of CO and other toxic compounds is a promising approach for air purification. In this work, the composites comprising palladium and ceria components supported on multiwall carbon nanotubes, carbon nanofibers and Sibunit were studied in the reactions of CO and CH4 oxidation. The instrumental methods showed that the defective sites of carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) successfully stabilize the deposited components in a highly-dispersed state: PdO and CeO2 nanoparticles, subnanosized PdOx and PdxCe1-xO2-δ clusters with an amorphous structure, as well as single Pd and Ce atoms, are formed. It was shown that the reactant activation process occurs on palladium species with the participation of oxygen from the ceria lattice. The presence of interblock contacts between PdO and CeO2 nanoparticles has an important effect on oxygen transfer, which consequently affects the catalytic activity. The morphological features of the CNMs, as well as the defect structure, have a strong influence on the particle size and mutual stabilization of the deposited PdO and CeO2 components. The optimal combination of highly dispersed PdOx and PdxCe1-xO2-δ species, as well as PdO nanoparticles in the CNTs-based catalyst, makes it highly effective in both studied oxidation reactions.

Abstract
Addition of proper amount of La produces more oxygen vacancies on ZnZrOx(nLa), hence promoting the formation of methanol. Upon coupling with H-SAPO-34, ZnZrOx(0.3La)/H-SAPO-34 catalyst shows a C2=–C4= selectivity in hydrocarbons as high as 83.2%.

Abstract
Subnanometric Pd clusters confined within zeolite crystals was fabricated using zeolitic seeds with premade [Pd3Cl(PPh2)2(PPh3)3]+ clusters under hydrothermal conditions. Characterization of the Pd3@Beta catalysts indicate that the Pd clusters confined in the channels of Beta zeolite exhibit better dispersion and stronger interaction with the zeolite support, leading to stabilized Pd species after heat treatment by high temperature. In the model reaction of toluene combustion, the Pd3@Beta outperforms both zeolite-supported Pd nanoparticles prepared by conventional impregnation of Pd3/Beta and Pd/Beta. Temperatures for achieving toluene conversion of 5%, 50% and 98% of Pd3@Beta are 136, 169 and 187 °C at SV = 60 000 mL g−1 h−1, respectively. Pd3@Beta could also maintain the catalytic reaction for more than 100 h at 230 °C without losing its activity, an important issue for practical applications. The metal-containing zeolitic seed directed synthesis of metal clusters inside zeolites endows the catalysts with excellent catalytic activity and high metal stability, thus providing potential avenues for the development of metal-encapsulated catalysts for VOCs removal. Encapsulated Pd3@Beta was fabricated through a novel Pd3 cluster and seed-directed method, generating an excellent performance in VOCs catalytic combustion.![]()

Abstract
Graphite carbon nitride (g-C3N4) supported PtNi alloy nanoparticles (NPs) were fabricated via a facile and simple impregnation and chemical reduction method and explored their catalytic performance towards hydrogen evolution from ammonia borane (AB) hydrolysis dehydrogenation. Interestingly, the resultant Pt0.5Ni0.5/g-C3N4 catalyst affords superior performance, including 100% conversion, 100% H2 selectivity, yielding the extraordinary initial total turnover frequency (TOF) of 250.8 molH2 min−1 (molPt)−1 for hydrogen evolution from AB at 10 °C, a relatively low activation energy of 38.09 kJ mol−1, and a remarkable reusability (at least 10 times), which surpass most of the noble metal heterogeneous catalysts. This notably improved activity is attributed to the charge interaction between PtNi NPs and g-C3N4 support. Especially, the nitrogen-containing functional groups on g-C3N4, serving as the anchoring sites for PtNi NPs, may be beneficial for becoming a uniform distribution and decreasing the particle size for the NPs. Our work not only provides a cost-effective route for constructing high-performance catalysts towards the hydrogen evolution of AB but also prompts the utilization of g-C3N4 in energy fields.

Abstract
In this study, we demonstrate the preparation and characterization of small palladium nanoparticles (Pd NPs) on modified ceria support (Pd/CeO2) using wet impregnation and further reduction in an H2/Ar flow. The obtained particles had a good dispersion, but their small size made it difficult to analyze them by conventional techniques such as transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD). The material demonstrated a high catalytic activity in the CO oxidation reaction: the 100% of CO conversion was achieved at ~50 °C, whereas for most of the cited literature, such a high conversion usually was observed near 100 °C or higher for Pd NPs. Diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier-transform (DRIFT) spectroscopy in combination with CO probe molecules was used to investigate the size and morphology of NPs and the ceria support. On the basis of the area ratio under the peaks attributed to bridged (B) and linear (L) carbonyls, high-dispersion Pd NPs was corroborated. Obtained results were in good agreement with data of X-ray absorption near edge structure analysis (XANES) and CO chemisorption measurements.

Palladium Supported on Carbon Nanotubes as a High-Performance Catalyst for the Dehydrogenation of Dodecahydro-N-ethylcarbazole. Catalysts 2018. Abstract
Hydrogen storage in the form of liquid organic hydrides, especially N-ethylcarbazole, has been regarded as a promising technology for substituting traditional fossil fuels owing to its unique merits such as high volumetric, gravimetric hydrogen capacity and safe transportation. However, unsatisfactory dehydrogenation has impeded the widespread application of N-ethylcarbazole as ideal hydrogen storage materials in hydrogen energy. Therefore, designing catalysts with outstanding performance is of importance to address this problem. In the present work, for the first time, we have synthesized Pd nanoparticles immobilized on carbon nanotubes (Pd/CNTs) with different palladium loading through an alcohol reduction technique. A series of characterization technologies, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometer (ICP-AES), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and transmission electron spectroscopy (TEM) were adopted to systematically explore the structure, composition, surface properties and morphology of the catalysts. The results reveal that the Pd NPs with a mean diameter of 2.6 ± 0.6 nm could be dispersed uniformly on the surface of CNTs. Furthermore, Pd/CNTs with different Pd contents were applied in the hydrogen release of dodecahydro-N-ethylcarbazole. Among all of the catalysts tested, 3.0 wt% Pd/CNTs exhibited excellent catalytic performance with the conversion of 99.6% producing 5.8 wt% hydrogen at 533 K, low activation energy of 43.8 ± 0.2 kJ/mol and a high recycling stability (>96.4% conversion at 5th reuse).
