Abstract
A visible-light-induced method for the hydrodichloromethylation of unactivated alkenes using chloroform (CHCl3) was developed, employing pyridine·BH3 as the halogen atom transfer (XAT) reagent. The strategy showed a broad functional group tolerance, and 29 examples of unactivated alkenes, including complex natural products or drug derivatives, have been established with good yields. Mechanistic studies indicated that CHCl3 serves as both the source of a dichloromethyl radical and a hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) reagent, and the borane short-chain reaction process was involved in this system. This method represents a novel approach for hydrodichloromethylation of unactivated alkenes without using an additional HAT reagent.

Abstract
Regioselective γ-polyhaloalkylation is achieved using tetrahalomethanes or α,α,α-trihaloalkyl compounds and siloxydienes via Fe(II) catalysis. A range of siloxydienes are functionalized in good yields with high stereoselectivity under mild reaction conditions. Structural divergence is observed as either haloalkylated or haloalkenylated products are formed on the basis of the substitution pattern of the siloxydiene. The halogenated products show utility in further synthetic transformations, selective reduction, and cross-coupling reactions.

Abstract
Herein, the development of a light-mediated synthesis of functionalized indolines and tetrahydroquinolines is reported. These structural motifs are considered as highly valuable targets, attributed to their widespread occurrence in pharmaceuticals and natural products. The gold-mediated approach offers a direct route to functionalized indolines in yields of up to 81% under mild photochemical conditions. Thereby, easily accessible Boc-protected N-aryl-allylamine and homoallylamine derivatives were reacted with sp3-hybridized haloalkanes in an intermolecular cascade cyclization reaction. A broad scope of substrates, including a variety of different substituents on the aromatic backbone as well as various haloalkanes, could be utilized. Indoline derivatives, which are functionalized in position 2, are also accessible by applying ortho-allylic anilines. Moreover, the synthetic appeal was demonstrated for a total synthesis of the anti-inflammatory agent AN669 in three reaction steps in an overall yield of 64%.

Abstract
Polychloromethylative cyclization of N-alkenyl indoles was developed under metal-free conditions to afford tricyclic pyridoindolones and pyrroloindolones in moderate to good yields. In the reaction, commercially available CHCl3 and CH2Cl2 were employed as tri- and dichloromethyl radical sources. Abstract
We have developed a transition-metal-free radical approach for 1,2-alkynyl functionalization of unactivated alkenes through the combination of 3-exo-dig cyclization with alkynyl migration triggered by in situ-generated diverse radical precursors. This strategy provides a robust toolkit to access a variety of synthetically important α-functionalized alkynyl ketones, simultaneously installing densely functionalized carbonyl, alkynyl, and other various functional groups into the alkenes. The broad substrate scope, which includes distinctly electron-donating or electron-withdrawing alkynyl migrating groups, excellent functional group compatibility, and remarkable selectivity make this protocol practical and attractive.

Abstract
Functional molecules bearing polychlorinated moieties usually play versatile roles in organic synthesis and biochemistry. A copper-catalyzed multicomponent polychloro-carboalkynylation of alkenes presents an efficient and operationally simple approach for the synthesis of β-polychlorinated alkynes. Mechanistic experiments were conducted demonstrating that an in situ generated copper acetylide complex was the real catalyst and reactive intermediate during the copper-catalytic cycle. And enantioselective exploration demonstrated potential application for the synthesis of chiral β-polychlorinated alkynes.

Abstract
A metal-free polychloromethyl radical-initiated cyclization of unactivated alkenes was developed using CH2Cl2 and CHCl3 as the di- and trichloromethyl radical sources. Variously substituted N-allyl-indoles were successfully transformed into the corresponding C2-(di- and trichloromethyl) pyrrolo[1,2-a]indoles in moderate to good yields. This reaction has a broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance. Dibromomethylated products can also be obtained using CH2Br2 under standard conditions.

Abstract
Free radical carbochloromethylations of ortho-cyanoarylacrylamides and N-(arylsulfonyl)acrylamides have been developed by employing simple alkyl chlorides as the chloromethyl source. The transformations are characterized by wide functional group compatibility and utilizing readily available reagents, thus providing efficient methods for constructing polychloromethyl-substituted quinoline-2,4-diones and α-aryl-β-polychloromethylated amides.

Abstract
A novel and mild metal-free catalyzed radical-mediated cascade spirocyclization of N-benzylacrylamides with polyhaloalkanes is proposed for the preparation of polyhalo-substituted azaspirocyclohexadienones. Notably, polyhaloalkanes are employed as efficient alkyl radical sources via the cleavage of C(sp3)-H bonds. This protocol undergoes a cascade radical addition and intramolecular cyclization/dearomatization process, and enables the easy construction of multiple chemical bonds and a spiro ring in a single reaction.

Abstract
A radical-initiated cascade addition and cyclization of N-allylbenzamides with simple ethers to construct ether-substituted dihydroisoquinolinones was performed in the presence of CuI. The cleavage of the sp3 C-H bond in ether and the sp2 C-H bond in phenyl was involved in this reaction. Moreover, the arylalkylation of N-allylanilines was also realized under similar reaction conditions, providing ether-functionalized indolines in good to moderate yields.
