Abstract
The most convenient and direct method of synthesizing an α-acyloxy ketone is the reaction of a diazo compound with a carboxylic acid via O-H insertion. However, due to the limitations in preparing and storing diazo compounds, the application of this method is restricted. In this study, Cu(OAc)2-mediated (OAc = acetate) decarboxylative coupling reactions of 3-indoleacetic acids with sulfoxonium ylides were developed for use in rapidly synthesizing α-acetoxyl ketones. In this reaction, Cu(OAc)2 was not only used as an oxidant, but also as acetate ion source. Notably, when 5-methoxy-2-methyl-3-indoleacetic acid reacted with different sulfoxonium ylides, the corresponding products exhibited fluorescence, and furthermore, several products displayed antiproliferative activities against various human cancer cell lines.

Abstract
A general and facile approach for the direct oxidative α-acyloxylation of ketones using molecular oxygen as the oxidant is developed. This method avoids the use of excessive peroxides and expensive metal catalysts, affording a variety of α-acyloxylated ketones in satisfactory yields. Experimental studies indicate that the reaction proceeds via a radical pathway. Additionally, α-hydroxy ketones could be obtained by changing the solvent.

Abstract
Many years ago, twelve principles were defined for carrying out chemical reactions and processes from a green chemistry perspective. It is everyone's endeavor to take these points into account as far as possible when developing new processes or improving existing ones. Especially in the field of organic synthesis, a new area of research has thus been established: micellar catalysis. This review article addresses the question of whether micellar catalysis is green chemistry by applying the twelve principles to micellar reaction media. The review shows that many reactions can be transferred from an organic solvent to a micellar medium, but that the surfactant also has a crucial role as a solubilizer. Thus, the reactions can be carried out in a much more environmentally friendly manner and with less risk. Moreover, surfactants are being reformulated in their design, synthesis, and degradation to add extra advantages to micellar catalysis to match all the twelve principles of green chemistry.

Abstract
Herein, we report visible-light-driven hydroacylation of unactivated alkenes. We employed benzimidazolines as new acyl donors and achieved perfect regioselectivity, high functional-group tolerance, and excellent substrate generality. We also performed mechanistic experiments to elucidate the detailed reaction mechanism. This is the first example of (1) hydroacylation of unactivated alkenes using (2) easily prepared acyl donors under (3) visible-light irradiation. Our findings offer a new strategy to synthesize a wide variety of ketones under mild conditions.

Abstract
In this paper, we present an unprecedented and general umpolung protocol that allows the functionalization of silyl enol ethers and of 1,3‐dicarbonyl compounds with a large range of heteroatom nucleophiles, including carboxylic acids, alcohols, primary and secondary amines, azide, thiols, and also anionic carbamates derived from CO2. The scope of the reaction also extends to carbon‐based nucleophiles. The reaction relies on the use of 1‐bromo‐3,3‐dimethyl‐1,3‐dihydro‐1λ3[d][1,2]iodaoxole, which provides a key α‐brominated carbonyl intermediate. The reaction mechanism has been studied experimentally and by DFT, and we propose formation of an unusual enolonium intermediate with a halogen‐bonded bromide.

Abstract
In this note we report the synthesis of a doubly acylated cis-THF-diol product synthesised in three steps by the stereoselective RuO4-catalysed oxidative cyclisation of 1,5-hexadiene, followed by benzoylation and acetylation. This substance is one of the substrates chosen to probe a new developed oxidative procedure to transform bis-acylated THF-diols into bis-acylated 1,4-diketones. This new derivative was fully characterised by spectroscopic methods.

Abstract
The work reported herein showcases a new route to access α-fluoro-α-triazol-1-yl ketones from sulfoxonium ylides via α-azido-α-fluoro ketone intermediates. In a one-pot, two-step sequence, the ketosulfoxonium reactant initially undergoes insertion of F+ and N3-, followed by a subsequent CuAAC reaction with arylacetylenes to install a 1,4-triazolo moiety. The approach allows for modification to both the sulfoxonium ylide and arylacetylene reactants. Fifteen examples have been reported, with yields ranging between 22% and 75%.

Abstract
Novel decarboxylative oxyacyloxylation of propiolic acids has been developed. This reaction provides an efficient access to alkynyl-containing α-acyloxy ketones from readily available starting materials and exhibits significant functional group tolerance. Furthermore, oxyacyloxylation of terminal alkynes and aliphatic propiolic acids was also developed. A possible reaction mechanism is proposed based on mechanistic studies.

Abstract
A method for the synthesis of ketones from aldehydes and boronic acids via a transition-metal-free C-H functionalization reaction is reported. The method employs nitrosobenzene as a reagent to drive the simultaneous activation of the boronic acid as a boronate and the activation of the C-H bond of the aldehyde as an iminium species that triggers the key C-C bond-forming step via an intramolecular migration from boron to carbon. These findings constitute a practical, scalable, and operationally straightforward method for the synthesis of ketones.

Abstract
The importance of gem-difunctionalized ketones is represented by their broad applications across chemical boundaries over recent years. The interesting reactivities that this class of compounds possess have made them ideal building blocks to access high-value organic molecules. Furthermore, the gem-difunctionalized ketone moiety has featured in numerous bioactive molecules. For these reasons, a plethora of routes to access such significant molecules have been developed by research groups worldwide - this account looks at delineating the synthesis of gem-difunctionalized ketones from carbonyl substrates, diazo compounds, sulfur ylides and alkynyl reactants.

Abstract
A general protocol for the hydroacylation of styrenes from aliphatic carboxylic acids is reported. These reactions proceed via β-scission of a phosphoranyl radical that is accessed by photoredox catalysis, followed by addition of the resulting acyl radical to the styrenyl olefin. We show that phosphine tunability is critical for efficient intermolecular coupling due to competitive quenching of the photocatalyst by the olefin. Primary, secondary, and structurally rigid tertiary carboxylic acids all generate valuable unsymmetrical dialkyl ketones.

Abstract
A continuous flow approach for the synthesis of α-acyloxy ketone derivatives from the corresponding arylglyoxals, isocyanides, and carboxylic acids is described. The target products were obtained in excellent yields in short residence times and with high purities via the first transcription of the microwave-to-flow paradigm to the isocyanide-based Passerini reaction. Furthermore, this methodology allowed a 10-fold scale-up using the same experimental conditions initially established.
