Abstract
The asymmetric hydrophosphination of cyclopropenes with phosphines is of much interest and importance, but has remained hardly explored to date probably because of the lack of suitable catalysts. We report here the diastereo- and enantioselective hydrophosphination of 3,3-disubstituted cyclopropenes with phosphines by a chiral lanthanocene catalyst bearing the C2 -symmetric 5,6-dioxy-4,7-trans-dialkyl-substituted tetrahydroindenyl ligands. This protocol offers a selective and efficient route for the synthesis of a new family of chiral phosphinocyclopropane derivatives, featuring 100 % atom efficiency, good diastereo- and enantioselectivity, broad substrate scope, and no need for a directing group.

Abstract
The diastereoselective double carbometalation reaction of cyclopropenes provides, in a single‐pot operation, two ω‐ene‐[1,1]‐bicyclopropyl ester derivatives. One regioisomer then undergoes a Pd‐catalyzed addition of aryl iodide to provide skipped dienes possessing several distant stereocenters including two congested quaternary carbon centers with excellent diastereoselectivity.

Abstract
A highly regio‐ and diastereoselective nucleophilic substitution at the quaternary carbon stereocenter of cyclopropyl ketones and cyclopropyl carbinol derivatives using TMSBr, DMPSCl and TMSN3 as nucleophiles has been developed. A variety of acyclic tertiary alkyl bromides, chlorides and azides were therefore prepared with excellent diastereopurity. The substitution occurs at the most substituted quaternary carbon center in a stereoinvertive manner, which may be attributed to the existence of a bicyclobutonium species.

Abstract
The preparation of acyclic molecules featuring congested stereocenters in a 1,4-relationship in only three catalytic steps from commercially available building blocks is reported. This approach involves a diastereoselective diboration of alkenyl cyclopropyl methanol derivatives followed by a regioselective exergonic ring fragmentation. The starting materials can be prepared enantiomerically enriched and all substituents can be interconverted, therefore, this strategy allows a large variety of diversely functionalized allylboronic esters possessing distant tetrasubstituted stereocenters with high diastereoselectivity.

Abstract
Nucleophilic substitution reactions have always been considered as one of the most powerful reactions for the creation of carbon-carbon or carbon-heteroatom bonds in organic synthesis. In contrast to secondary carbons, the steric shielding of tertiary carbons retards a concerted, stereospecific nucleophilic substitution, and ionizing pathways often lead to nonselective substitution due to ion pair dissociation. In this minireview, we will detail pioneering contributions and more recent achievements emphasizing the feasibility of nucleophilic substitution on tertiary stereocentres under certain conditions, with inversion of configuration. The development of these transformations at tertiary centres are of remarkable added value to practitioners in the field of complex molecule synthesis. A stereoselective substitution at a quaternary carbon stereocentre with inversion of configuration is also discussed in the case of a three-membered ring.

Abstract
CuCl/(R,R)-Ph-BPE-catalyzed asymmetric hydroallylation of 1,2-dihydroquinolines, prepared from readily available quinolines, was developed. The optically active tetrahydroquinolines (THQs) bearing an allylic functionality at position 4 were obtained in good yields and excellent enantioselectivity. The introduced allylic groups are amenable to diverse transformations, thus offering chances to rapidly expand the THQ libraries.

Abstract
Amine-substituted cyclobutanes and cyclopropanes are important substructures in biologically active compounds. Moreover, many of the cycloalkane units bear multiple substituents and stereocenters. Therefore, synthetic methods that produce polysubstituted aminocyclobutanes and aminocyclopropanes in a highly diastereo- and enantioselective manner are of importance. Herein, we describe the diastereo- and enantioselective synthesis of various types of polysubstituted aminocyclobutanes and aminocyclopropanes through CuH-catalyzed hydroamination of 1-substituted cyclobutenes and cyclopropenes. These strained trisubstituted alkenes exhibit much higher reactivity compared to their unstrained analogues in the initial hydrocupration step of the reaction. Moreover, an interesting reversal of regioselectivity was observed in the hydroamination of 1-aryl-substituted cyclobutenes compared to the cyclopropene analogues. The origins of the enhanced reactivity of strained trisubstituted alkenes as well as the differences in the regio- and enantioselectivity between reactions with cyclobutenes and cyclopropenes were investigated computationally.

Abstract
A novel and unusual palladium-catalyzed [4+2] annulation of cyclopropenes with benzosilacyclobutanes is reported. This reaction occurred through chemoselective Si-C(sp2 ) bond activation in synergy with ring expansion/insertion of cyclopropenes to form new C(sp2 )-C(sp3 ) and Si-C(sp3 ) bonds. An array of previously elusive bicyclic skeleton with high strain, silabicyclo[4.1.0]heptanes, were formed in good yields with excellent diastereoselectivity under mild conditions. An asymmetric version of the reaction with a chiral phosphoramidite ligand furnished a variety of chiral bicyclic silaheterocycle derivatives with good enantioselectivity (up to 95.5:4.5 er). Owing to the mild reaction conditions, the good stereoselectivity profile, and the ready availability of the functionalized precursors, this process constitutes a useful and straightforward strategy for the synthesis of densely functionalized silacycles.

Abstract
We herein disclose a diastereoselective ring opening of non-donor-acceptor cyclopropanes via an intramolecular Friedel-Crafts alkylation en route to functionalized dihydronaphthalene scaffolds possessing quaternary carbon stereocentres. The transformation proceeds through a selective bond breaking at the most alkylated carbon centre with a pure retention of configuration. Mechanistic investigations and computational studies revealed that alkoxy functionality is the key for selective bond breaking leading to a complete retention of configuration.

Abstract
The diastereoselective carbocupration reaction of alkoxy-functionalized cyclopropene derivatives, followed by a subsequent trapping of the resulting cyclopropylmetal species with an electrophilic source of oxygen (oxenoid) afforded various tetrasubstituted cyclopropanol derivatives in high diastereo- and enantiomeric ratios. Similarly, the enantioselective copper-catalyzed carbomagnesiation/oxidation (or amination) sequence on achiral nonfunctionalized cyclopropenes provided the desired cyclopropanol (and cyclopropylamine) derivatives in excellent diastereo- and enantiomeric excesses.

Abstract
An iridium-catalyzed tandem olefin migration/Cope rearrangement of alkenyl ω-ene cyclopropanes is reported. By this means, a variety of complex annulenes are obtained as single diastereomers starting from cyclopropyl ester derived from simple 1,ω-dienes and alkenyldiazo compounds. Long-range olefin migration over up to 10 positions could be realized and coupled with an efficient Cope rearrangement to yield valuable scaffolds. Various functional groups are well-tolerated, giving rise to densely functionalized products. Furthermore, the present methodology could be successfully extended to yield bicyclic cycloheptenones starting from readily available alkenyl cyclopropanols via a Kulinkovich reaction.

Abstract
A strain-release-driven, cation-templated nucleophilic 7- and 8- exo-trig-cyclization of tethered Boc-protected amines to cyclopropenes is described. The featured reaction proceeds in diastereo- and regioselective fashion and allows for preparation of the corresponding 2,5-diazabicyclo[5.1.0]octan-6-ones and 2,6-diazabicyclo[6.1.0]nonan-7-ones as sole products in high yields. Preliminary studies on anticancer activities of these novel cyclopropane-fused medium heterocycles were performed.
